OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical efficacy of exercise acupuncture and osteopathy in the treatment of traumatic knee arthritis. METHODS: Fifty-one patients with traumatic knee arthritis were divided into three groups:routine group, exercise acupuncture group and osteopathy group. In the routine group, there were 17 cases, 12 males and 5 females, with a mean age of (49.4±8.9) years old; the averaged course of disease was (4.89±1.52) years; total WOMAC score before treatment was 100.77±15.48. Seventeen patients (11 males and 6 females) in the exercise acupuncture group were aged (48.6±10.1) years old; the course of disease was (4.21±1.37) years; and the total WOMAC score before treatment was 106.16±14.95. In the osteopathy group, there were 17 cases, 8 males and 9 females, with a mean age of (52.3±8.4) years old; the average course of disease was (4.79±1.50) years; total WOMAC score before treatment was 103.87±10.14. The patients in the routine group were treated with routine rehabilitation; the patients in the exercise acupuncture group were treated with routine rehabilitation combined with exercise acupuncture, and the patients in the osteopathy group were treated with osteopathy combined with routine rehabilitation. The changes of WOMAC score and ROM in three groups were compared before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment. RESULTS: The overall effect of osteopathy group was better than that of routine group (=3.151, =0.005). The scores of WOMAC before and after treatment:pain of 23.84±4.66, 11.98±2.66, stiffness of 10.44±1.71, 6.42±0.74, daily life of 66.49±11.85, 35.80±4.44 in the routine group; pain of 22.64±3.22, 8.90±2.19, stiffness of 11.82±2.57 , 6.03±1.06, daily life of 71.72±13.59, 32.94±4.73 in the exercise acupuncture group; pain of 22.38±3.68, 10.66±2.75, stiffness of 11.81±2.08, 5.63±1.69, daily life of 69.69±8.96, 28.84±5.76 in the osteopathy group. Compared with the other two groups after treatment, the improvement of pain score in the exercise acupuncture group was better than those in the other two groups. There were no significant differences in stiffness score among the three groups. The degree of difficulty in daily life in the osteopathy group was better than that in the other two groups. The total score of WOMAC in the exercise acupuncture group and the osteopathy group were better than that in the conventional group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS On the basis of routine rehabilitation treatment, exercise needling and osteopathy have positive significance for the improvement of joint pain and dysfunction of joint movement in patients with traumatic knee arthritis, with certain popularlized value in the treatment of traumatic knee arthritis.

Objective: To describe the distribution and drug resistance of pathogens at hematology department of Jiangsu Province from 2014 to 2015 to provide reference for empirical anti-infection treatment. Methods: Pathogens were from hematology department of 26 tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province from 2014 to 2015. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was carried out according to a unified protocol using Kirby-Bauer method or agar dilution method. Collection of drug susceptibility results and corresponding patient data were analyzed. Results: The separated pathogens amounted to 4 306. Gram-negative bacteria accounted for 64.26%, while the proportions of gram-positive bacteria and funguses were 26.99% and 8.75% respectively. Common gram-negative bacteria were Escherichia coli (20.48%) , Klebsiella pneumonia (15.40%) , Pseudomonas aeruginosa (8.50%) , Acinetobacter baumannii (5.04%) and Stenotropho-monas maltophilia (3.41%) respectively. CRE amounted to 123 (6.68%) . Common gram-positive bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus (4.92%) , Staphylococcus hominis (4.88%) and Staphylococcus epidermidis (4.71%) respectively. Candida albicans were the main fungus which accounted for 5.43%. The rates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia resistant to carbapenems were 3.5%-6.1% and 5.0%-6.3% respectively. The rates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to tobramycin and amikacin were 3.2% and 3.3% respectively. The resistant rates of Acinetobacter baumannii towards tobramycin and cefoperazone/sulbactam were both 19.2%. The rates of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia resistant to minocycline and sulfamethoxazole were 3.5% and 9.3% respectively. The rates of Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecium and Enterococcus faecalis resistant wards vancomycin were 0, 6.4% and 1.4% respectively; also, the rates of them resistant to linezolid were 1.2%, 0 and 1.6% respectively; in addition, the rates of them resistant to teicoplanin were 2.8%, 14.3% and 8.0% respectively. Furthermore, MRSA accounted for 39.15% (83/212) . Conclusions Pathogens were mainly gram-negative bacteria. CRE accounted for 6.68%. The rates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia resistant to carbapenems were lower compared with other antibacterial agents. The rates of gram-positive bacteria resistant to vancomycin, linezolid and teicoplanin were still low. MRSA accounted for 39.15%.

The efficiency of dendritic cell-activated and cytokine-induced killer cell (DC-CIK) therapy on children with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) after chemotherapy was investigated. Mononuclear cells were collected from children achieving complete remission after chemotherapy, cultured in vitro and transfused back into the same patient. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) was injected subcutaneously every other day 10 times at the dose of 1 × 10(6) units. Peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and minimal residual disease (MRD) were detected by flow cytometry. Function of bone marrow was monitored by methods of morphology, immunology, cytogenetics and molecular biology. The side effects were also observed during the treatment. The average follow-up period for all the 22 patients was 71 months and relapse occurred in two AML patients (9.1%). The percentage of CD3(+)/CD8(+) cells in peripheral blood of 15 patients at the 3rd month after DC-CIK treatment (36.73% ± 12.51%) was dramatically higher than that before treatment (29.20% ± 8.34%, P < 0.05). The MRD rate was >0.1% in 5 patients before the treatment, and became lower than 0.1% 3 months after the treatment. During the transfusion of DC-CIK, side effects including fever, chills and hives appeared in 7 out of 22 (31.82%) cases but disappeared quickly after symptomatic treatments. There were no changes in electrocardiography and liver-renal functions after the treatment. MRD in children with AML can be eliminated by DC-CIK therapy which is safe and has fewer side effects.

This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of low methylation drug decitabine combined with autologous cytokine induced killer cells (CIK) to treat the elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Two AML patients aged over 80 years old were diagnosed and treated in our department from 2006 to 2012; both company with MDS history, and one case was M4-type, another case was M6-type according to FAB classification. The changes in lymphocyte subsets, hematologic response, transfusion frequency, leukemic gene expression, obtaining CR or PR, quality of life and survival time of the patients with different treatment regimen (decitabine alone; CIK alone; decitabine combined with CIK) were systematically observed. The results showed that therapy of decitabine combined with CIK cells could reduce bone marrow suppression extent, decrease the frequency and volume of blood transfusion, and prolong the duration of partial remission, compared with the single use of CIK cell infusion and single use of decitabine treatment. Meanwhile, the kinds of expressed genes associated with leukemia decreased and the survival time was prolonged obviously. The patients' life quality significantly improved. It is concluded that decitabine combined with CIK for treatment of elderly patients with AML is safe and effective.

To compare angiopoiesis ability of eutopic and ectopic endometrial tissue isolated from women with endometriosis and endometrium isolated from women without endometriosis (control), and to explore the inhibitory effects of medicated serum of Neiyi Recipe, a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine.

OBJECTIVETo explore the regulation on 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2h PBG) for patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) in the intervention with electroacupuncture.

METHODSSixty cases of IGT were divided randomly into an electroacupuncture group and a blank control group, 30 cases in each one. In electroacupuncture group, electroacupuncture was applied to Shenshu (BL 23), Pishu (BL 20), Zusanli (ST 36) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) in the intervention, lasting for 6 sessions. In blank control group, no any intervention was adopted. The levels of fasting blood-glucose (FBG), 2 h PBG with 75 g glucose and hemoglobin Alc (HbAlc) were observed before and after the intervention for the patients in electroacupuncture group, as well as in blank con trol group.

RESULTSThe total effective rate was 76.7% (23/30) in electroacupuncture group, which was superior to that of 16.7% (5/30) in blank control group (P < 0.01). 2h PBG [(7.08 +/- 0.74) mmol/L] and HbAlc [(5.74 +/- 0.35)%] were down-regulated significantly after the intervention with electroacupuncture of 6 sessions in electroacupuncture group. The therapeutic effects of it were superior remarkably to those [(8.93 +/- 1.87) mmol/L, (5.97 +/- 0.591)%] in blank control group, indicating statistical significant difference (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). But, there was no any impact for the patients with normal FBG.

CONCLUSIONElectroacupuncture may be the means to achieve the clinical effective intervention for the people with IGT and the approach in the prevention and treatment of diabetes at the early stage.
