OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression profile of inflammation related genes in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma by functional gene chip technique and to probe into the role of correlative genes in pathogenesis of the laryngeal squamous cell cancer and in tumor immunity. METHODS The total RNAs were respectively extracted from two pair samples of laryngeal tumor and the normal tissue around the tumor, and then were reversely transcribed to cDNAs, then synthesized to cRNAs. The cRNAs were labeled with the hybridization probes. The probes were then hybridized with four pieces of inflammation related genes chip. It was chemiluminescently detected and the acquired image was analyzed with special software. RESULTS Forty genes were differently expressed in inflammation related gene profile of laryngeal tumor, among which 22 genes were upregulated and 18 genes were down regulated. Thirteen genes were shown differential expression in both chips with 10 upregulated genes and 3 downregulated genes. CONCLUSION The differently expressed genes in inflammation related gene chips will provide clues and theoretical foundation for the investigation of the relationship between tumor and inflammation, and also the immune pathogenesis of laryngeal tumor. Furthermore CCL-7 may have an important role in the occurrence of laryngeal cancer, and the role of immunity of the pathogenesis of laryngeal tumor needs further studied.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preventive effect of Bushen Huoxue Recipe (BSHXR), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on autoimmune premature ovarian failure (POF) in mice. METHODS: Ovarian antigen was prepared with the ovarian tissue of female BALB/c mice. A mouse model of POF was established by immunization injection of the ovarian antigen of isotype female mice on multiple subcutaneous sites and two posterior soles. The POF mice were treated with BSHXR after the first and third immunization. The levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estradiol (E2) in peripheral blood were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Lymphocyte infiltration was appeared in ovarian stroma of POF mice. The levels of FSH and LH were evaluated and the E(2) level was decreased significantly (P<0.05). BSHXR could reduce the increased levels of FSH and LH, increase the level of E(2) and the number of growing and mature follicles. The efficacy of early treatment was better than that of late treatment. CONCLUSION: BSHXR can recover ovarian function in POF mice mainly by regulating the indiscriminate hormone level, and BSHXR has preventive effect on autoimmune POF in mice.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2014;(7):616-619
Objective To investigate the risk factors for coronary artery lesions (CALs) in children with Kawasaki disease (KD) in Lanzhou. Methods One hundred and seventy-four children with diagnosed KD were divided into CAL group and non-CAL group based on the existence of concurrent CALs. The age, gender, fever duration, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) start time, IVIG dose, C-reactive protein (CRP), serum albumin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), platelet (PLT), red blood cell count (RBC), hemoglobin and so on were compared. Results Among the 174 children, 46 children (26.44%) were complicated by CALs and 128 children were not. The differences of average fever duration, IVIG starting time, IVIG dose, PLT, CRP, ESR and RBC were statistically signiifcant (P<0.05). Conclusions When KD children has the fever durations>10 d, start of IVIG af-ter 10 days of fever, increase of PLT, CRP and ESR and decrease of RBC, clinicians should be alert to the risk of concurrent CAL.

Objective To investigate the effect of ultrasound?guided transversus abdominis plane block after general anesthesia induction on cyclic stress and postoperative analgesia in patients treated with abdominal surgery. Methods Sixty patients scheduled for elective abdominal surgery were divided into 2 groups with 30 cases in each. All were treated with ultrasound?guided transversus abdominis plane block after general anesthesia induction, and 30 cases in observation group received ropivacaine ,while those in control group saline. Anesthesia maintained by propofol combined with remifentanil during surgery ,and postoperative analgesia by sufentanil. The effect of anesthesia and operation were compared. Results Compared with control group, observation group needed less time for analepsia (P < 0.05) ,and there were lower blood pressure and heart rate at 2 min after skin incision and immediately after surgery (P < 0.05). Less propofol and remifentanil were needed in surgery and less sufentanil after surgery in observation group (P < 0.05). The VAS pain score was lower 1 h,4 h,8 h and 12 h after surgery (P < 0.05) ,and there were less times for pressing analgesic pump (P < 0.05). Patients in observation group had higher comfort degree after surgery (P<0.05). Conclusion Ultrasound?guided transversus abdominis plane block after general anesthesia induction is helpful to reduce intraoperative anesthesia used for anesthesia maintenance , and can improve patients′comfort after surgery.
