ObjectiveTo evaluate the intermediate term efficacy of posterior stabilized (PS) total knee arthroplasty(TKA) and posterior cruciate-retaining(CR) TKA and explore the clinical related problem.MethodsThe clinical data of 84 patients (87 knees) who treated with primary TKA from May 1992 to May 2006 were analyzed retrospectively. The intermediate term efficacy was compared between PS TKA (PS group,41 cases with 43 knees) and CR TKA (CR group,43 cases with 44 knees).ResultsAll the patients were followed up for 5-10(7.6 ± 1.5 ) years,no infection, dislocation or neurovascular injury occurred in both groups. But 1 knee occurred intraoperative posterolateral femoral condyle fracture in PS group. The lateral retinacular release rate was 2.3% ( 1/43 ) and 2.3% (1/44) in PS group and CR group, respectively. The incidence of anterior knee pain was 4.7%(2/43 ) and 4.5%(2/44) after 6 months surgery in PS group and CR group. The incidence of anterior knee pain was 0 at the end of follow-up in both groups. There was no significant difference in the lateral retinacular release rate and the incidence of anterior knee pain between two groups (P >0.05).The range of motion and American knee society score(KSS) was similar and no statistical difference was found between two groups(P > 0.05 ).The incidence of patellar tilt or subluxation in X-ray was 2.3% (1/43) and 2.3% (1/44) at the end of follow-up in PS group and CR group. There was no significant difference between two groups (P > 0.05 ).At the end of follow-up,no osteolysis,X-ray radiolucent zone and prosthesis loosening were found in both groups. There was no revision owing to loosening or other reasons.ConclusionsThe intermediate term efficacy of PS TKA and CR TKA is near a tie. However, the future efficacy still need further follow-up.

Ethnic medicine industry is facing many problems such as narrow market, exhaustion of resource, decline of ethnic medicine and no qualified successors. Sustainable development theory was utilized to analyse the elements and problems of ethnic medicine industry, and the counter measures were put forward to get rid of the predicament and to realize the sustainable development which depends on the ethnic medicine resources, national medicine, industrial policy, personnel training and modern technology. The development issues of ethnic medicine industry can be solved by the coordination of enterprise, government and public. Finally the ethnic medicine can provide better services for society.

The purpose of this research was to understand fecal micro-flora of Enterococcus-related diarrhea feces and the clone characteristics of isolated Enterococcus strains.Primer was designed according to 16S rRNA gene and integrated DNA extracted from patients' fecal samples was used as the template to amplify the conserved sequence of 16S rRNA by PCR.After the PCR product was purified and cloned into T vector to sequence,PFGE was used to analyze 20 out of 50 Enterococcus isolates from each specimen. The 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis indicated that these 4 portions of diarrhea feces were dominated by Enterococcus faecium (>68%) and the isolates were clonal except only one portion.Although the basic flora characteristics of diarrhea feces could be revealed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis and PFGE analysis, the pathogenicity and mechanism of Enterococcus were still waiting for further experimental exploration.

Microbiology 2008;0(11):-
A strain Actinobacillus succinogenes CGMCC 1593 was selected as the parent strain. After UV-EMS and UV-DES treatments respectively, seven mutated strains with subtle improvements in acid tol-erance were obtained, and were subjected for recursive protoplast fusion.Through three rounds of genome shuffling, four shuffled strains with both higher yield and acid tolerance were obtained. The shuffled strain namely F3-21 could even survive at pH 5.2.The comparison of the shuffled strains and the parent strain for succinic acid production was also studied here. After 48 h of shake-flask fermentation, the succinic acid concentration of F3-21 was 48% higher than that of the parent strain. When F3-21 was carried out in a 5 liter stirred bioreactor with pH controlled 5.6~6.0,the accumulation of succinic acid in 48 h fermentation attained 38.1 g/L,which was increased by 45% compared with that of the parent strain(26.2 g/L).While pH was controlled at 6.5~7.0,the production of succinic acid in 32 h fermentation attained 40.7 g/L.When F3-21 was carried out in fed-batch fermentation, succinic acid concentration of 67.4 g/L was reached in 72 h fer-mentation.These results indicated that the genome shuffling could improve the acid tolerance and the suc-cinic acid production of A.succinogenes CGMCC 1593.

Objective: To investigate the effect of the acid inhibitor-Lansoprazole on the distribution of Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) in stomach. Methods: Biopsy specimens were taken from the duodenal ulcer patients who underwent gastroscopy before and after the treatment of Lansoprazole. The biopsy specimens were taken from the lesser curvature of the antrum and the greater curvature of the corpus respectively. H&E and Warthin-Starry staining were used for detecting the changing of active gastritis and the positive rate of H.pylori. Results: (1)The positive rates of H.pylori before treatment, 4 weeks after treatment and 3 months after treatment, in the lesser curvature of the antrum were 93.02%, 58.14%, and 86.05%, respectively. The positive rate and density of H.pylori 4 weeks after treatment were greatly decreased compared with those before treatment (P

Objective To explore the effect of reduced glutathione and venous systemic oxygen perfusion on apoptosis and ultrastructure of hepatocytes in rat steatotic liver grafts. Methods Before liver transplantation grade Ⅱ steatotic liver model was established by a diet consisting of 79% standard diet,20% lard and 1% cholesterol for 6 weeks. In pretreatment group, the donor received intraperitoneal injection of reduced glutathione at a dosage of 500 mg/kg/body weight 3 times a day for 2 days, and intrahepatic venous oxygen perfusion for 6 hours while kept in cold preservation. Results Preconditioning measures in steatotic liver grafts significantly decreased the hepatocytes necrosis (38?10)% vs (17?6)%, P

Experimental investigations were conducted on the process of combustion and explosion vent in a 200 mm (diameter)×400 mm (length) vertical cylindrical vessel. When CH4-air mixture gases were used and the vent diameter was 55 mm,conditions of φ (equivalent ratio)=0.8, φ=1.0 and φ=1.3 and two ignition positions (at the cylinder center and bottom) were selected. The venting processes and the correlated factors are discussed in this paper.
