1.Some clinical characteristics of acute diarrhea due to E.Coli in children under 5 year old in Ha Noi city
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;487(9):13-15
Study 300 children with acute diarrhea treated at Saint Paul Hospital, Hanoi, the results showed that major cause was E.coli (13.7%); most common were EAEC and EIEC, followed by ETEC and EPEC, prevalence of EHEC was low (0.7%). Most of patients were under 1 year of age, and this disease common occurred in summer and autumn. Common symptoms were abdominal pain, watery and loose diarrhea; other symptoms such as fever, vomit and nausea occurred in half of patients.

2.The antibiotic resistance of E.Coli isolated from children with diarrhea and without diarrhea in HaNoi
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;490(10):19-20
600 pediatric patients including 300 children with diarrhoea were treated at Ha Noi St Paul Hospital. There were a high rate of E.coli causing diarrhoea in children (21%) among than EACE had got the highest (8%) and EHEC the lowest (0,5%). E.coli was highly sensitive to antibiotics of the groups quinolone cefatexin, amikacin and was highly resistent with chloramphenicol, co.trimoxazole. E.coli could be multi resistent to 6 antibiotics, but the most common was 2 antibioresistancies.

3.Study the origin of acute enterotoxigenic E.coli diarrhea in children aged 0-5 years old
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;510(4):66-68
Study on 2483 children aged 0-5 years old with acute diarrhea at Ba Vi district (Ha Tay province), St Paul Hospital, and Thanh Tri district (Ha Noi). Results: prevalence of children aged 0-5 years old with acute diarrhea due to ETEC accounted for 6.4% of all diarrhea children. Majority of diarrhea children caused by ETEC alone (82.3%), most of ETEC diarrhea patients were due to LT ETEC (61.4%). ETEC-related diarrhea characterized loose stool, mild and moderate dehydration, fatigue (83.1%), anorexia (74.65%), and abdominal pain (70.6%). Disease developed quickly, with the mean time of 3.23±1.13 days. The prevalence is higher in summer and autumn.

4.Evaluating effectiveness Vietnam manufactured-Artesurat IM in treatment of P.Falciparum-induced malaria.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):38-40
With the increasing resistance of the parasite P. falciparum, the successful research and production of the intramuscular injection artesunat have great significance for the health service of Vietnam. 49 patients of uncomplicated malaria caused by P.falciparum had been treated by the locally made intramuscular injection artesunat with the doses as follows: - On the first day (Do): 2.4 mg/kg. - From the second day to the fifth day (D1-D4): 1.2 mg/kg/day. Results: The fevers of all 49 patients were cleared; parasites were cleared quickly. The incidence of recrudescence is 31% (by 28 day test). No resistance of degree II or III (RII, RIII) was found.

Background: Human albumin was produced and used in many countries. Cohn's technique had been used to precipitate albumin from human plasma. This technique was easy and cheap and the quality of the product was good. In Vietnam, human albumin had to import, but the prices was very expensive. Vietnam was having good plasma in large quantity and high quality. That’s why research on production plasma albumin was essential.
", u"Objectives: This study aimed at using Cohn's technique improved by Drohan and Van - Aken to produce standard albumin from human plasma. Subjects and method: Human plasma detected VIII-factor was used for present study. Plasma ?albumin was precipitated by ethanol at low temperature and pH. The collected albumins have been liophilizated and storage at 40C. The quality and quantity of Albumin was evaluated by quantitative analysis and protein ?electrophoresis. Results: The 418g of albumin powder was produced from 16 liters of plasma detected F ?VIII. The quality of this albumin come up to standard (>95%) and quantity of albumin collected from one liter of this plasma was 26g. Conclusion: In the Vietnamese condition, the technique of Cohn can be used to produce standard albumin for treatment.
", u'

Introduction: The need for gama – globulin, especially gama - globulin - anti – HBs, is huge in Vietnam. A number of patients cannot to afford use them due to the high price as they are imported. Meanwhile, Vietnam has high quality input sources for producing gama – globulin.
', u'Objectives: To study the production process of gama - Globulin from Human Plasma and Standard gama - Globulin with Rich of Anti – HBs.
', u'Subjects and method: 168 samples of human plasma from voluntary blood donors, which had been screened with for transfusion transmittable infections (TTLs), were chosen as plasma with rich of anti - HBs. The plasma with anti - HBsAg was precipitated with ethanol 25%, pH 6,9 to gain gama - globulin with rich anti - HBs, which was dried by Dutch Ly - 3 - TTE machine. Activation of anti - HBs gama - globulin was identified by a standard method of the degree of antibody specific for anti - HBsAg kit of BIORAD,
', u'Results: The purity of the gama - globulin achieved was 93%, which was almost equal with the results of some foreign researchers (7.8), the activation of anti - HBs was 1:128 dilution degree. The productivity of gama - globulin gaining from 1 litter plasma was 6.0 gram. This new issue was first demonstrated in Vietnam.
', u'Conclusion: We can domestically produce anti-Bs gama - globulin with high degree of activeness (1:128) from human plasma by the precipitating method with ethanol, pH and low temperature.
', u'

Background: Can Gio mangrove forest is bio-diversified area. There is few studies on medical arthropod in Can Gio mangrove forest until now. Objective: To study bio-diversified feature and identify species with disease transmitting role. Subject and Method: In 2007, medical arthropod surveys were conducted at 3 sites located in the natural conserve zone- Can Gio mangrove forest. A cross-sectional study was used. Results and Conclusions: A total of samples of 6178 individuals of medical arthropod belonging to 65 species have been collected, including 3 species of flea (Siphonaptera), 1 species of ticks (Ixodidae), 6 species of chiggers (Trombiculidae), 6 species of mites (Gamasoidea), 25 species of flies (Muscoidea) and 24 species of mosquitoes (Culicidae). They belong to 37 genus, 17 families, 3 orders (Siphonaptera, Acarina and Diptera), and 2 classes (Insecta and Arachnida). 20 species having epidemiological role were found in Can Gio mangrove forest. The rate of Anopheles epiroticus biting human at night indoor, outdoor and daytime indoor is rather high, especially at the end of dry season at centre of the forest.

A new crinane-type alkaloid, 6-epihydroxypowelline (1), together with six known alkaloids, lycorine (2), 2-O-acetyllycorine (3), deacetylbowdensine (4), 1-epideacetylbowdensine (5), 8-demethyl-3-oxomaritidine (6), and (-)-marithamine (7) were isolated from the whole parts of the Crinum latifolium L. in Vietnam. The structure identification of all compounds was determined by 1D, 2D-NMR as well as HR-ESI-MS spectroscopic techniques. The absolute configuration of these compounds was established by the ECD data. In addition, in vitro inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activities was assessed for all isolated alkaloids. All alkaloids had AChE inhibitory effects, with IC50 values ranging from 32.65 ± 2.72 to 212.76 ± 8.30 µM and compound 3 displayed the strongest inhibition of AChE, with IC50 values of 32.65 ± 2.72 µM (in comparison to the reference drug, galanthamine, which had an IC50 of 2.40 ± 0.45 µM).
