This study examined the association of problem behavior with neurotransmitter deficiency in adolescents, which would provide new insights into behavioral problems. A total of 1259 students of the seventh grade from 4 middle schools in Wuhan city located in the central China were recruited. With the approval of school and parents, they were invited to complete the Youth Self-Report (YSR) questionnaire and Symptom Scale of Neurotransmitter Deficiency (SSND) questionnaire. Pearson's bivariate correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficients between each subscale of YSR and SSND ranged from 0.24 to 0.61 with all P<0.01. Canonical correlation analysis indicated that anxiety/depression was interrelated with insufficiency of GABA and 5-HT; aggressive behavior was associated with inadequate GABA; famine of DA influenced the attention problems. It was concluded that neurotransmitter deficiency may cause a series of behavioral and mental problems.

This study examined the effects of combined administration of tyrosine, lecithin, L-glutamine and L-5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) on heroin withdrawal syndromes and mental symptoms in detoxified heroin addicts. In the cluster-randomized placebo-controlled trial, 83 detoxified heroin addicts were recruited from a detoxification treatment center in Wuhan, China. Patients in the intervention group (n=41) were given the combined treatment with tyrosine, lecithin, L-glutamine and 5-HTP and those in the control group (n=42) were administered the placebo. The sleep status and the withdrawal symptoms were observed daily throughout the study, and the mood states were monitored pre- and post-intervention. The results showed that the insomnia and withdrawal scores were significantly improved over time in participants in the intervention group as compared with those in the control group. A greater reduction in tension-anxiety, depression-dejection, anger-hostility, fatigue-inertia and total mood disturbance, and a greater increase in their vigor-activity symptoms were found at day 6 in the intervention group than in the control group (all P<0.05). It was concluded that the neurotransmitter-precursor-supplement intervention is effective in alleviating the withdrawal and mood symptoms and it may become a supplementary method for patients' recovery from heroin addiction.

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of brain-benefiting and collateral-unblocking needling technique for chronic alcoholic gastritis complicated with depression. Methods:A total of 92 cases with chronic alcoholic gastritis complicated with depression were included in this trial. They were randomly allocated into an observation group (n=46) and a control group (n=46) by random number (envelope) method. Patients in the observation group received the brain-benefiting and collateral-unblocking needling technique. Scalp points included Shenting (GV 24), Xinhui (GV 22), Qianding (GV 23), Baihui (GV 20), Chengguang (BL 6), Tongtian (BL 7) and Luoque (BL 8). Body points included Neiguan (PC 6), Zusanli (ST 36), Zhongwan (CV 12), Gongsun (SP 4), Shenmen (HT 7), Daling (PC 7), Qimen (LR 14), Xinshu (BL 15) and Taichong (LR 3). The control group only received the same body acupuncture as the observation group. The treatment was conducted once a day, 30 min for each treatment, and 10 times made up a course of treatment. The efficacy was observed after 3 courses of treatment, and there was a 2-d interval between two courses. Results:After 3 courses of treatment, the clinical symptoms and gastroscopic features were significantly improved in the observation group than that in the control group. The clinical efficacy, self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were significantly better than those in the control group (allP<0.05). Conclusion:The brain-benefiting and collateral-unblocking needling technique can significantly improve clinical symptoms in patients with chronic alcoholic gastritis complicated with depression and substantially alleviate their gastroscopic features, anxiety and depression.

BACKGROUND:ABO-incompatibility between donor and recipient is not a barrier for Successful allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation even though it is well established that major ABO incompatibility may lead to prolonged destruction of donor-derived erythrocytos and prolonged transfusioil requirements.OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of ABO.incompatible on clinical characteristics in allogeneic-hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.DESIGN:A retrospective observation.SETTING:Department of Hematology.the Affiliated Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School.PARTICIPANTS:Fourteen patients(11 males and 3 feiliales,aged 15-60 years old)with malignant hematologic diseases who received ABO-incompatible allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in the Affiliated Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School from May 2002 to September 2007 Were recruited for this study.Of the 14 patients,7 were human leukocyte antigen(HLA).matched,and the other 7 were HLA-half-matched.Controls were 11 patients who received ABO-compatibility bone marrow transplantation during the same period.Written informed consents for receiving allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation were obtained from each reciplent.The donors were sibling sister,sibling brother.son and mother,and they all agreed to provide marrow for transplantation.T1lis experiment was given an approval by the Ethics Committees of the hospital.METHODS:Regimen conditioning:HLA-matched transplantation regimen conditioning consisted of busulfan(Bu)and cyclophosphamide(Cy).HLA-half-matched transplantation regimen conditioning adopted GIAC program from Beijing People's Hospital.The GIAC program consisted of 4 parts:G:granulocyte colony-stimulating factors used for donors;I:stronger immunosuppressive regimen conditioning used for recipients;A: antihuman thymocyte globulin added:C: combined transplantation of bone marrow and peripheral blood;Perfusion of hematopoietic stem cells:The marrow from ABO-incompatible donor depleted erythrocytes by hydroxyethyl starch sedimentation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Adverse reaction.complication and hematologic recovery after ABO-incompatibility stem cell transplantation.RESULTS:One out of fourteen recipients developed pure red cell aplasia(PRCA)and dropped out of final analysis.Hematologic recovery:The median time of erythrocyte recovery after ABO-incompatible stem cell transplantation was delayed compared with ABO compatible stem cell transplantation (t=2.352.P＜0.05).There were no significant difieFences in the recovery of neutrophils and platelets between ABO-incompatible group and ABO-compatible group(P＞0.05).The median time of recovery of the erythrocyte and the blood type switching was delayed in HLA-mis-matched allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation compared with HLA-matched allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation,but without significant difference(P＞0.05).Complications:During the stem cell transfusion following transplantation.none of 14 Patieats had hemolytic complications or delayed haemolysis.CONCLUSION:There was no evidence of ABO-incompatibility between donor and recipient is a barrier for successful allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Objective: To explore the clinical effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at Zusanli (ST 36) and Fenglong (ST 40) in treating senile dementia. Methods:A total of74 patients were randomly divided into an EA group and a medication group based upon the random digital table, 37 cases in each group. EA at Zusanli (ST 36) and Fenglong (ST 40) was given in the EA group, once every day, for six treatments per week. Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets were given to the medication group, 5 mg per time and once a day in the former four weeks, 10 mg per time and once a day after 4 weeks, oral administration before sleep at night. The courses of the treatment were 12 weeks in both groups. The scores of mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and Barthel index (BI) were observed before and after the treatment, for processing the comparative analysis of the clinical effects after the course of the treatment. Results:The total effective rate was 86.5% in the EA group and 70.3% in the medication group. The therapeutic effect was better in the EA group than that in the medication group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). MMSE and BI scores after the treatment in the two groups were all elevated than those of the same groups before the treatment (P<0.05,P<0.01). The improving situation was obviously better in the EA group than that in the medication group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:EA at Zusanli (ST 36) and Fenglong (ST 40) is affirmative in the therapeutic effect for senile dementia and can also improve the cognitive function and enhance the patients’ quality of life .

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between the bisphenol A (BPA) exposure and obesity in children and adolescents with Meta-analysis, and to provide a new idea for prevention and control of obesity. Methods: Reviewer independently searched and screened potentially relevant studies that reported the association between BPA and obesity in children and adolescents through Medline, Web of Science, CBM, CNKI, WANFANG DATA and CQVIP to March 7, 2019. Chi-square based Q test and I 2 statistic were used to assess the heterogeneity. Forest plot was used to display results graphically. Potential publication bias was assessed by the Egger and Begg tests and funnel plot. Results: In total, 13 studies with 3 932 participants met the eligibility criteria, 13 articles were indentified involving 1 046 obesity children and 2 886 normal control children. Overall summary estimates indicated significant positive correlation between urinary BPA and obesity ( SMD =0.26，95% CI =0.01-0.51), and a nonsignificant association between serum BPA and obesity ( SMD =0.07，95% CI =-0.44-0.58). Significant heterogeneity was observed in overall estimates ( I 2=87.3%, P <0.01). In additon, a significant positive association was estimated in American ( SMD =0.27, 95% CI =0.16-0.39) and Europe ( SMD =3.76, 95 CI =2.77-4.74). The association between BPA and obesity was not changed in each individual (sensitivity analysis by leaving one out approach). The funnel plots did not reveal severe asymmetry, and both Egger and Begg tests were non-significant ( P >0.05); therefore, publication bias was assessed as “undetected”. Conclusion The finding from our systematic review and Meta-analysis suggest that children and adolescents exposure to BPA may result in obesity.

Objective: To investigate psychological sub-health status and its correlation with suicidal behaviors among middle school students in Shenzhen, so as to provide reference for early prevention of suicide. Methods: A total of 4 014 students from 5 junior high schools and 5 senior high schools in Shenzhen were selected as the subjects. The status of psychological sub-health and suicidal behaviors were assessed, and their correlation was analyzed. Results: The detection rates of psychological sub-health, suicide ideation, suicide plan and suicide attempts were 21.38%, 24.66%, 11.81% and 3.64% respectively. The detection rates of suicidal ideation, suicide plan and suicide attempts among students with high level of psychological sub-health status were significantly higher than those without psychological sub-health status(P<0.01). Correlation analysis showed that the number of psychological sub-health symptoms was positively correlated with the number of suicidal ideations, suicide plans and suicide attempts(P<0.01). Conclusion Psychological health status of adolescents in Shenzhen is not optimistic. There is a correlation between psychological sub-health status and suicidal behaviors. More attention should be paid to suicide prevention among students with psychological sub-health status.

Objective: To understand parent-child cohesion and problematic mobile phone use among middle school students in Shenzhen, and to provide a refevence for conducting the relevant control and prevention work . Methods: A total of 3 992 students from 5 junior high schools and 5 senior high schools in Shenzhen were selected by using stratified cluster sampling method. Problematic mobile phone use and parent-child cohesion were investigated, and their association was analyzed. Results: The average score of father-child cohesion and mother-child cohesion was (34.34±9.67) and (38.14±8.35), respectively. Mother-child cohesion score was higher than father-child cohesion score in both junior and senior middle school students(t=12.07, 14.41, P<0.01). Father-child cohesion (r=-0.20, P<0.01) and mother-child cohesion (r=-0.17, P<0.01) was negatively correlated with problematic mobile phone use. The lower the score of parent-child cohesion, the higher the score of problematic mobile phone use. Conclusion Family plays an important role in the prevention and control of problematic mobile phone use among middle school students. Improving parent-child cohesion and building a good parent-child relationship may help prevent problematic mobile phone use.

Objective: To understand the changes of children s height, weight, blood pressure and gender differences, to explore the relationship between overweight, obesity and childhood hypertension, and to provide a scientific basis for childhood hypertension prevention. Methods: Physical examination data during 2013 to 2018 of ten primary school students in Shenzhen were collected. Growth rate of height, weight and blood pressure by age and gender were calculated. The generalized estimating equation was used to analyze the association between overweight, obesity and hypertension. Results: Weight, body mass index (BMI) and systolic pressure of boys and girls increased with age ( t/Z =3.89-31.52, P <0.05). The height growth rate of girls was higher than that of boys at the age of 8-11, and reaches the peak of height growth at the age of 10, while boys were two years later than girls(boys:7.68 cm, gilrs:7.42 cm). Weight and blood pressure growth rates were similar. At the same time, the growth rate of height and blood pressure had a synchronous trend, and the peak of the growth rate of blood pressure was also at the peak stage of height growth. The OR value of obesity on childhood hypertension was 1.62(1.48-1.81), and the OR value of overweight on childhood hypertension was 2.01(1.75-2.30), both P <0.01. Conclusion There are gender differences in children s height, weight, and blood pressure, and the growth rate of height and blood pressure shows a synchronous trend. Overweight and obesity in children can increase the risk of high blood pressure and hypertension.
