1.Comparison of enhancement features of hepatic tumors on SonoVue-enhanced real-time gray-scale ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced helical CT

Objective To compare enhancement features of hepatic tumors on SonoVue-enhanced real-time gray-scale ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced helical CT.Methods SonoVue-enhanced real-time gray-scale ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced helical CT were performed on 49 patients with 54 focal liver lesions,including 29 primary liver carcinomas,4 metastatic liver tumors,11 hepatic carvernous hemangiomas,7 focal nodular hyperplasias,2 focal fatty sparing,1 cirrhotic.Results Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and helical CT showed consistent results in demonstrating hemodynamics of hepatic tumors.In the differentiating of malignant tumors and benign tumors,the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography were(90.9)%(30/33),(90.5)%(19/21) and(90.7)%((49/54)),respectively.Those of contrast-enhanced CT were(90.9)%(30/33),(95.2)%(20/21) and(92.6)%((50/54)),respectively.Conclusions Both of the two imaging methods are valuable for differential diagnosis of liver tumors.

Objective To investigate the feature of ventilation induced lung injury(VILI) with different tidal volume in neonatal rats.Methods Thirty-two neonatal rats were assigned to control group(without ventilation),conventional ventilation group(tidal volume 0.010 L?kg-1 for 5 h),hyperventilation 5 h group(tidal volume 0.025 L?kg-1 for 5 h),hyperventilation 3 h group(tidal volume 0.025 L?kg-1 for 3 h) randomly.After ventilation,the lungs were obtained to weigh,score about the degree of lung pathologic injury was count.The levels of IL-6 and IL-10 of lung tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results The VILI histopathology score in hyperventilation 5 h group,hyperventilation 3 h group,conventional ventilation group and control group were 9.63?1.40,4.40?1.06,6.50?1.85 and 0.00,respectively,the differences were significant among the 4 groups(P=0.000).IL-6 in hyperventilation 5 h group,hyperventilation 3 h group,conventional ventilation group and control group were(785.33?39.06) pg?g-1,(656.78?48.82) pg?g-1,(701.6?33.65) pg?g-1 and(635.02?65.78) pg?g-1,there were significant differences among the 4 groups(P=0.000).The IL-6 level was positively correlated with VILI histopathology score(r=0.78,P

4.Ultrasound diagnosis and differential diagnosis of primary hepatic lymphoma

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of ultrasound in primary hepatic lymphoma (PHL).Methods The ultrasonic and clinical features in 40 cases of PHL were analyzed retrospectively.All cases were pathologically confirmed by surgical operation or ultrasound-guided biopsy.Results The most common presentation of PHL was a solitary lesion which occurred in 57.5% (23/40) of patients,followed by multiple lesions in 30.0% (12/40),and diffuse infiltration patterns in 12.5 % (5/40).The first two types were usually shown on ultrasound as hypoechoic lesions with surrounding normal liver parenchyma in 88.6% (31/35) of cases.The diffuse pattern presented as diffuse hepatomegaly without nodules in the liver parenchyma.There were 52.5% (21/40) of the lesions which could not be diagnosed either as benign or malignant by ultrasound.Conclusions The clinical presentations and imaging features of PHL are non-specific.PHL should be considered as a differential diagnosis in cases of liver metastases when no primary tumour is apparent,or when sonographic findings show atypical features of primary liver carcinoma or hemangioma.When patients with unexplained fever and diffuse hepatomegaly,PHL should be considered and precaution should be taken to prevent to misdiagnose these patients as having fatty liver or chronic liver disease.
5.Analysis of the turnaround time for biochemistry a ChongQing' hospital

Objective To observe the turnaround time(TAT) of biochemistry laboratory in a certain hospital of Chongqing city,and to improve the quality of the laboratory by shortening the TAT.Methods TAT was analyzed by analyzing the daily workload,average TAT and failure rate of outpatient clinics,outpatient emergency,inpatient clinics,and inpatient emergency subjects from 2013 to 2015.The reasons for TAT prolongation were analyzed.Results The biochemical test samples were 77 060,97 129 and 105 304 from 2013 to 2015,and the annual growth rate was 26.0% and 8.4% respectively.TAT of the routine outpatient department samples were (78.55nu48.47)、(69.18± 37.20)、(62.82 ±21.62)min,which decreased year by year,and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the TAT of the outpatient emergency were (64.13 ± 31.16),(59.22 ± 23.51),(66.01±37.73)min.TAT of inpatient clinics were (92.34± 53.41),(95.03±55.73) and (122.92±78.94)min from 2013 to 2015,which increased year by year,and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05),and the TAT of the inpatient emergency were(65.29±36.06),(62.41±30.18),(61.48±30.12)min,which decreased year by year,and the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05).The substandard rate of samples aforementioned were 0.04%,2.99%,0.63% and 3.69%,respectively.Conclusion TAT increases with the samples increase,it is necessary that making sure staffs more responsible in daily work,optimizing the procedure of daily biochemistry tests,improving ability of serving for clinic and patients.
6.Contrast-enhanced ultrasound characteristics in hypervascular breast tumors: comparison with power Doppler ultrasound

Objective To investigate the enhancement patterns of hypervascularized breast tumors with real time contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and to evaluate the accuracy of CEUS in comparison with power Doppler in the discrimination purpose. Methods CEUS was preoperatively performed in 35 patients with 37 hypervascular breast lesions detected on power Doppler. The patterns of enhancement were analyzed and compared with morphological characteristics of the vessels displayed by power Doppler. Results Considering initial lump enhancement and peripheral flake enhancement as a criterion suggesting malignancy, CEUS showed a sensitivity of 90.9% ,a specificity of 73.3% and an accuracy of 75.70/00. While the morphological characteristics of the vessels demonstrated by power Doppler showed no significant difference between benign and malignant lesions, Conclusions CEUS is more accurate than power Doppler ultrasound in the assessment of blood flow of hypervascular breast tumors and more helpful in the differentiation role.
7.Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in the characterization of focal liver lesions before microwave ablation therapy

Objective To assess the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the differential diagnosis of focal liver lesions before microwave ablation. Methods One hundred and seven patients with 128 focal liver lesions underwent CEUS and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) before microwave ablation therapy. The diagnostic performance of CEUS and CDFI was compared with pathologic findings through biopsy. Results The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, accuracy of CEUS for diagnosing liver lesions was 98.35% (119/121), 100% (7/7), 100% (119/119), 77.78% (7/9) and 98.44% (126/128), respectively, higher than those of CDFI (P<0.001). According to CEUS, 119 malignant lesions were treated with timely microwave ablation, while unnecessary microwave ablation was excluded for 7 benign lesions. Conclusion CEUS is useful in the characterization of focal liver tumors before microwave ablation, and is helpful to reduce the misdiagnosis and mistreatment of the patients.
8.Effects of theophylline plus salmeterol/fluticasone propionate combination therapy on lung function and airway inflammation in patients with asthma

Objective To explore the effects of theophylline plus salmeterol/fluticasone propionate combination product (SFC) on clinical control,lung function and airway inflammation in asthmatics.Methods A total of 146 asthmatics received 200 mg theophylline plus 50/250 μg SFC twice daily for 24 weeks.The level of asthma control was assessed by the asthma control test.Testing of lung function and inflammatory markers in induced sputum were performed.And 142 asthmatics received 50/250 μg SFC twice daily for 24 weeks as control.Results Asthma was completely controlled in 61 and 59 in the theophylline plus SFC and SFC groups respectively after a 24-week treatment period (P > 0.05).Theophylline plus SFC improved the FEF25% 75% value,indicating small airway function,to a greater extent than SFC [(66.7 ± 18.2) % & (56.6 ± 17.4) %,P < 0.01].Percentage of eosinophil and concentration of eosinophil cationic protein in induced sputum were significantly lower in the theophylline plus SFC group than those in the SFC group [(4.1 ±2.3)% vs.(6.2±2.7)% & (63.9±39.4) vs.(90.3 ±46.2) μg/Lrespeetively] (all P < 0.01).Conclusion The therapy of theophylline plus SFC may provide greater improvements in small airway function and airway inflammation.
9.Determination of Donkey-hide Gelatin in Lüjiao Buxue Granules by UPLC-QQQ/MS

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the determination of donkey-hide gelatin in Lüjiao buxue granules. METH-ODS:Trypsin was used for enzymatic hydrolysis of donkey-hide gelatin. UPLC-QQQ/MS was adopted for the determination of don-key-hide gelatin in the preparation:Hypersil GOLD C18 column was used with mobile phase consisted of 0.1% formic acid solu-tion-acetonitrile(gradient elution)at the flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. The column temperature was 30 ℃,and sample size was 5 μL. Mass chromatography condition was that ion source was electrospray ion source;ionization mode was ESI+;multiple response mon-itoring was adopted,and characteristic molecular ion peaks of donkey-hide gelatin with mass-to-charge ratio of m/z 539.8(double charge)→ 612.4 and m/z 539.8(double charge)→ 923.8 were used as detection ion pair. Spray voltage was 3100 V;sheath gas was 20 Arb;auxiliary gas was 8 Arb;ion transfer tube temperature was 350 ℃;evaporation temperature was 350 ℃;scan mode was SRM. Collision gas was high purity argon. RESULTS:The sample size of donkey-hide gelatin ranged 20.24-2024 μg/mL(r=0.9978). The detection limit was 1%. RSDs of precision,stability and reproducibility tests were all lower than 6.0%. The charac-teristic molecular ion peaks of donkey-hide gelatin could be detected in 27 batches of samples. CONCLUSIONS:The method is spe-cific and can be used for the determination of donkey-hide gelatin in Lüjiao buxue granules.
10.Effect of sulfatide-activated typeⅡnatural killer T cells on airway inflammation in a murine model of asthma

Objective:To investigate the effect of type ⅡNKT cells activated by sulfatide on airway inflammation in a murine model of asthma.Methods:Thirty-two BALB/c mice were randomly divided into four groups:normal control group ( n=8 ) , asthma group (n=8),sulfatide treatment group (n=8) and adoptive transfer group (n=8).The murine model of asthma was established by sensitization with intraperitoneal injection of ovalbumin ( OVA) and intranasal challenge in all animals except for the normal control group where PBS was used instead.Intraperitoneal injection of sulfatide in a sulfatide treatment group, adoptive transfer of sulfatide-activated typeⅡNKT cells in adoptive transfer group and PBS in asthma group were carried out 1 hour before the first challenge.PBS was used for intraperitoneal administration in the normal control group.Lung histology and goblet cell hyperplasia were analyzed by HE or PAS staining.Differential cell count in bronchial alveolar lavage ( BALF) was measured by May-Gruenwald Giemsa;levels of OVA-specific IgE in serum and L-4,IL-5 in BALF were measured by ELISA.The percentages of lung type Ⅱ NKT cells,IL-4+and IFN-γ+typeⅡNKT cells were detected by flow cytometry.Results:Inflammatory cell infiltration in lung tissue and goblet cell hyperplasia in the airway were decreased in sulfatide treatment group and adoptive transfer group.Percentages of eosinophil in BALF,level of OVA-specific IgE in serum,and levels of IL-4,IL-5 in BALF in sulfatide treatment group and adoptive transfer group were significantly lower than those in asthma group (all P<0.05).The percentages of lung IL-4+and IFN-γ+typeⅡNKT cells in sulfatide treatment group was significantly higher than those in asthma group ( P<0.01 ).Conclusion: Type Ⅱ NKT cells activated by sulfatide may inhibit airway inflammation in a murine model of asthma.
