Objective To study the effects of Nerve Regeneration Factor on the neurite growth and Neurofilament-H expression of rat dorsal root ganglions in vitro. Methods DRG was cultured and treated with NRF,observation made by fluorescent immunocytochemistry and the mRNA and protein level of NF-H of DRG neurons was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot. Results NRF can promote the neurite growth of DRGs in vitro. The mRNA and protein levels of NF-H of DRG neurons can be up-regulated by NRF in a dose-dependent manner, with the best concentration of 2.0?(mg/L.) Conclusion\ NRF can promote the neurite growth of DRGs in vitro.NRF exerts a neurotrophic action on developmental sensory neurons.

Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of microscopic thymoma(MT).Methods The histopathological features of 12 cases of MT were observed by histopathologic and immunohistochemical methods. The pathological morphology, diagnosis, and differential diagnosis were discussed combined with literature. Results 6 cases of MT were accompanied by myasthenia gravis(MG) symptoms.Focal hyperplastic thymic epithelial islands were accompanied by large tracts of mature adipose tissue in 12 cases of MTs,and immunohistochemistry showed CK positive.Cyst formation was found in 5 cases, lymphoid hyperplasia in 7 cases, and vascular proliferation in 5 cases. Conclusions MG may be the clinical manifestation of MT.MT can occur in thymic cortex, medulla and cortex and medulla junction.Since the tumor is small and the lesions are multiple,it can not be found by X-ray or CT examination.Diagnosis depends on histopathological examination.Correct understanding of the clinical and pathological features of MT has guiding significance on the treatment and prognosis judgment of MT.Thymic resection was recommended for MG patients either with or without thymoma.

A three-dimensional (3D) transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) imaging system is presented in this paper. The 3D imaging system is used for diagnosing diseases of prostate. The 3D image is reconstructed by a series of two-dimensional image data which is obtained through rectum. It can be a guide to prostate needle biopsies. The system is built by two parts: hardware and software. In the hardware, the mechanical device, stepper motor, control circuit, B Mode TRUS and personal computer (PC) workshop are presented. The software includes the firmware of micro control unit and software of the PC workshop. In order to evaluate the performance of the 3D imaging system, we did experiments with water and agar phantoms, and the results demonstrated the system's ability of 3D imaging with high-precision.

Objective To research the pyrazinamide drug susceptibility of Mycohacterium tuberculosis, and provide reference for clinical medication and prevention. Methods Bactec MGIT 960 system was used to test the resistance of isoniazid, rifam picin, ethambutol, streptomycin and pyrazinamide for 153 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Results Of 153 Mycobacterium tuberculosis,34 were resistant to PZA,and the resistant rate was 22.2 %.There was no PZA single drug resistance.A mong patients with and without INH resistance,RFP resistance,EMB resistance and Sm resistance, the proportions of PZA resistance were respectively 40.5 % (34/84) vs 0%(0/69),47.5%(29/61) vs 5.4%(5/92),75%(6/8) vs 19.3%(28/145),53.1% (26/49) vs 7.7% (8/104).Among the 54 multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains 53.7% were resistant to PZA,which was significantly higher than 5.1 % (5/99) among the nonMDR-TB strains (x2 =47.854,P<0.05).In multivariate logistic analysis, resistance to Sm (OR=0.270,95%CI:0.091~0.802) and MDR-TB (OR=0.281,95%CI:0.087~0.911) were risk factors to PZA resistance. Conclusion The PZA resistance rate among MDR-TB isolates was high.PZA resistance would be associated with SM resistance and MDR-TB.The drug susceptibility test for PZA is very important to MDR-TB patients.

Objective To observe the outcomes of hip arthroplasty with modular S-ROM prosthesis for failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture. Methods Fifteen patients who had been admitted for failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture from January 2013 to May 2015 were reviewed retrospectively in this study. They were 9 men and 6 women, aged from 55 to 86 years (average,72 years).Their primary internal fixation methods included dynamic hip screw (DHS) in 7 patients, proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) in 5 and proximal femoral locking plate in 3.The causes for internal fixation failure were implant loosening in 5 patients, screw breakage in 6,and cutting-out of screws in 4.All the patients received hip arthroplasty with modular S-ROM prosthesis to treat their fracture nonunion or displacement.Harris hip scores were measured before operation and at the final follow-up.Results Their average operative time was 156 min (from 118 to 180 min) and average intraoperative blood loss 432 mL (from 230 to 700 mL).No fracture or neurovascular damage occurred during operation. The 15 patients were followed up for 13 to 35 months (mean,24 months).Postoperative dislocation of the artificial joint happened in one patient and nonunion of the greater trochanter due to massive bone defects was observed in 2 patients.Follow-ups showed none of the patients had such severe complications as infection, deep vein thrombosis or peri-prosthesis fracture. At the last follow-up,15 patients obtained Harris hip score of 90.6 (from 78 to 95),with 11 excellent,3 good and one fair cases. Conclusion Hip arthroplasty with modular S-ROM prosthesis is a safe and effective treatment for failed internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture.

Objective To establish an HPLC method to determine the content of diosgenin in Paridis Rhizoma; To examine contents of diosgenin in different varieties of Paridis Rhizoma medicinal plants and from different habitats. Methods Shimadzu Inertsil ODS-C18 guard column (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) was used in HPLC system; elution conditions were the mobile phase using 92% acetonitrile and 8% water (isocraticelution) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min with 203 nm detection wavelength. The temperature of the column oven was maintained at 30℃.Results Different varieties of Paridis Rhizoma medicinal plants and Paridis Rhizoma medicinal plants from different habitats contained diosgenin. TheParis polyphylla var.pseudothibetica in Yubei district had the highest content (6.813 7 mg/g);Paris polyphylla var.stenophylla in Chengkou County had the middle content (5.758 4 mg/g);Paris yunnanensisFranch in Shizhu county showed the lowest content (1.952 2 mg/g). The results showed that the obvious difference of chemical quality between various cultivated varieties of Paridis Rhizoma medicinal plants, which might be related with origin, variety and the cultivation technology, and so on.Conclusion The diosgenin contents ofParis polyphylla var. pseudothibetica andParis polyphylla var.stenophylla were higher than that of varieties recorded in Chinese Pharmacopeia.Paris polyphylla var.pseudothibetica andParis polyphylla var.stenophylla had important medical value.
