BACKGROUND: To predict the functional outcome basing on hospitalization data as earlier as possible has important significance for evaluating the prognosis and discharged recovery. In recent years, researches on the balance function of stroke patients has drew more and more attentions, but less related reports about the relationship between balance and discharge functional outcome are available.OBJECTIVE: To predict the discharg functional outcomes of stoke patients basing on hospitalization data, as well as the relationship between it and scores for Fugl-Meyer balance(FMB) and Berg balance scale(BBS).DESIGN: Multiple factors and multi-variable study based on patient' s clinical presentation.SETTING: Rehabilitative department in a college hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Between August 2002 and May 2003, 40 patients with stoke for the first time were hospitalized in Rehabilitative and Neurological Department of Tongji Hospital, who accorded with the enrolling standards.METHODS: The available hospitalization data and discharge functional outcomes were subjected to single factor and multiple factor analysis, and collected data includes the history of disease, physical examination, scores for FMB and BBS when hospitalization, scores for daily life ability(ADL)and functional independence measure(FIM) . Functional outcome was presented by the discharge FIM.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Simple correlative analysis of BBS, FMB and FIM, regressive analysis of discharge FIM influencing factors.RESULTS: Simple liner correlative analysis indicted that scores for BBS and FMB was strongly correlated with the scores for FIM at hospitalization and discharge( P < 0. 001 or P < 0.05), regressive analysis revealed that scores for FIM, ADL and BBS at hospitalization could be used for predicting the discharge functional outcomes of stroke patients.CONCLUSION: Predictors for discharge functional outcomes includes scores for FIM, ADL and BBS when hospitalization, which are closely correlated with BBS.

Objective:To prepare a novel vascular endothelial growth inhibitor-soluble chimeric protein VEGI~+,so as to lay a basis for studying its biological activity. Methods:Chimeric molecule VEGI~+ was constructed by grafting oligopeptide CTTH- WGFTLC to extraeellular region of VEGI(VEGI_(23-174)).Before ligation into pET30a(+)expression vector,PCR product of the recombinant gene was cloned into pGEM-T vector and verified by restriction enzyme digestion and DNA sequencing, then pET30a-VEGI was used to transfect BL21(modified E.coli strain). The chimeric protein was purified by metal affinity chro- matography.Western blotting and coomassie blue staining were used for protein identification. Results:The chimeric molecule VEGI~+ was confirmed by restriction enzyme digestion and DNA sequencing. The constructed pET30a-VEGI was confirmed by enzymatic digestion. The expression was mainly in the form of inclusion body.SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and Western blotting revealed a chimeric protein about 23000,with a purity of about 90%.Conclusion:We have successfully constructed the recom- binant plasmid pET30a-VEGI~+ and expressed it in E.coll.And we have obtained high purity of soluble chimeric protein VEGI~+ through affinity chromatography.

Objective: To evaluate the targeting activity in the animal model with human hepatoma, the 131I-human antiHBsAg Fab radioimmunoimaging was explored. Methods: Radioimmunoimagings were taken on different intervals after injection of 131 I-human anti-HBsAg Fab to the nude mice and tissue distribution was measured. The human anti-HBsAg Fab was compared with the murine monoclonal antibodies. Results: The experimental group developed tumor positive images after 3 days of radio-labeled monoclonal antibodies injection, and the peak accumulation of radio-activity on the 5th day.Statistics indicated the tumor/liver ratio of the human anti-HBsAg Fab, murine monoclonal antibodies and the control groups were 5.4,4.0 and 0.9 respectively on the 7th day. Conclusions: Our results suggest that the 131 I-human anti-HB-sAg Fab has a considerable targeting activity, and provide an evidence that it can be used as a novel humanized carrer for targeting therapy of hepatoma.

Objective To explore the cause, influencing factor and possible solving method of transient adverse reactions during the operation. Methods Sixteen healthy beagles were undergone virtual PLDD. The changes of vertebral discs and the surrounding tissues were observed by high resolution CT and MRI at different periods after the operation, and the same investigation procedure was carried out after the sacrifice of beagles. Results The beagles of the conventional vaporization group occasionally had limb tic and whining in the operations. Pieces of necrosis and edema could be found in the tissues of intervertebral foramen at the paracentetic side. The histological changes in the negative pressure suction group were less than those in the conventional group. Conclusion The reversible damages of the surrounding tissuses were observed in the conventional group and continuing negative pressure suction during the operations can prevent the damages to the surrounding tissues, all of the changes could be clearly displayed by CT and MRI scan.

UNLABELLEDObjective: In order to assess the integrative cardiopulmonary function after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD), we used symptom limited maximum cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
METHODSAll 59 patients diagnosed stable CAD by coronary angiography and echocardiography from August to December of 2014 in our hospital, were divided two groups. PCI group, 31 patients received PCI and drugs. Control group, 28 patients received drugs therapy only. All patients performed CPET before and after the treatment.
RESULTSAll patients safely completed CPET without any complications. The control group, all functional parameters were unchanged (P > 0.05). PCI group, the anaerobic threshold, peak oxygen uptake and peak oxygen pulse increased significantly (P < 0.05) from baseline, but not for others (P > 0.05). For individual analysis, PCI group had higher rates of increase (≥ 10% of baseline) in both peak oxygen uptake and peak oxygen pulse than those of control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONCPET is an objective, quantitative, safe and effective method to evaluate the clinical therapeutic efficiency. PCI can improve the integrative cardiopulmonary function in CAD patients.
