Objective To study the changes of liver function and its clinical significance during the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by hepatic arterial and segmental arterial embolization. Methods Hepatic arterial embolization (conventional LP-TAE) was performed in 52 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma and segmental arterial embolizational(segmental LP-TAE) was done in 33 cases. The main data of the change of liver function were reviewed in three days and six months after treatment. All cases were followed up for 1 to 5 years. Results The change of ALT, AST, ALP, TBIL in conventional LP-TAE were remarkably increased than that in segmental LP-TAE after three days (P=0.000). After six months by LP-TAE, the Child of liver function in segmental group decreased obviously lighter than that in conventional group (P=0.000). The survival rates at 1-, 3-, and 5-year were 90.9%, 60.6% and 30.3% in segmental LP-TAE, respectively, and 61.5%, 21.2% and 7.7%, in conventional LP-TAE, respectively (P =0.003, P =0.000, P =0.006). Conclusion Segmental LP-TAE possesses stronger anticancerous effect and much less damage to liver function. Segmental LP-TAE is obviously superior than conventional LP-TAE in long term effectiveness.

Objective To study the chemical constituents of Ganoderma resinaceum. Methods Chemical constituents were isolated and purified by silica gel column, Sephadex LH-20, and ODS column chromatography. The structures were identified by means of physicochemical and spectral data. Results From the CHCl3 part of the fruiting bodies of this material, eight compounds were isolated. Their structures were determined to be ergosterol (1), β-sitosterol (2), ganoderic acid E (3), ganoderic acid G (4), ganoderic acid C2 (5), ganoderic acid B (6), ganoderic acid A (7), and lucidenic acid A (8). Conclusion All the compounds were obtained from this fungus for the first time.

Resveratrol, which is produced by natural plants, has various biological activities, including anti-inflammatory,antioxidant and anticancer properties.Recently,it is found that resveratrol can inhibit the proliferation and promote the apoptosis of breast cancer through multiple molecular targets, which provides a theoretical basis for resveratrol used in the treatment of breast cancer.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 1995;0(04):-
Objective A two step polymerase chain reaction (PCR) strategy was used to amplify copy DNAs corresponding to the special region of the T cell receptor (TCR) ? chain. Methods and Results With this technique, a dominant TCR gene rearrangement that used the ?8 variable region gene segment was identified in a patient with cuteneous T cell lymphoma and its sequence determined from multiple independently generated subclonal PCR products. An oligonucleotide corresponding to the highly variable junctional region of the clonally expanded TCR gene rearrangement was synthesized and used for further confirming studies. Finally, from the sequence data obtained, a peptide corresponding to the ? chain junctional region sequence of the patient′s clonally expanded T cells was generated. Conclusion Preliminary studies using this peptide indicate that it is antigenic and may potentially be useful in developing a patient specific tumour vaccine.

Objective To study the classification, its incidence and some related factors of neurological complications after liver transplantation. Methods 166 cases of orthotopic liver transplantation were retrospectively studied. The classification and the incidence of the neurological complications were analyzed. In addition, the patients were divided into two groups, according to whether they suffered from neurological complications or not, to study the difference of related factors, which included gender, age, primary disease, type of operation procedure, operation time, non-hepatic time, ischemia time of donor liver, blood loss, blood infusion and immunosuppressive regimen. Results Neurological complications occurred in 28 cases (32 times), which included encephalopathy, seizure, stroke, infection of central nervous system, serious para-pyramidal syndrome and peripheral neuropathy. The total incidence was 16.9 %. Between the neurological complication group and non-neurological-complication group, no difference was found in gender, age, type of operation procedure, operation time, non-hepatic time, ischemia time of donor liver, blood loss, blood infusion and immunosuppressive regimen, but the neurological complications were closely related with primary diseases. The incidence of neurological complications was 30 % in acute liver failure, followed by post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis (21 %), primary liver carcinoma (17.8 %), Wilson disease (16.7 %) and primary biliary liver cirrhosis (12.5 %). Interestingly as a sole complication disease, the incidence of encephalopathy in acute liver failure was 15 %, that was much higher than that in other primary disease. So was the peripheral neuropathy, which was 10 % in primary liver carcinoma. Conclusions The neurological complication is a kind of serious disease with high incidence after liver transplantation. Its onset may have some relationships with the primary liver disease.

Objective To investigate the effects of irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with candesartan cilexetil in the treatment of elderly patients with hypertension and its protective effect on cardiac function. Methods 180 elderly patients with hypertension were selected, and they were randomly divided into observation group and control group according to the digital table,90 cases in each group. The observation group was given irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with candesartan treatment, the control group was given candesartan. The heart function improvement after treatment, clinical efficacy and patients in hospitalization, complications, critical events and new death of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the heart rate,EVDD,SBP and other indicators of the two groups declined, which of the observation group[(56.14 ± 6.15)mm,(112.12 ± 20.12)mmHg,(70.45 ± 8.69/min)]were lower than the control group[(60.12 ± 6.78) mm(119.45 ± 21.45) mmHg,(82.12 ± 9.12/ min)],there were significant differences between the two groups (t1 =4.124,P =0.000;t2 =2.364,P =0.019;t3 =8.788,P =0.000).The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.33%,which was higher than 74.44% of the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups (x2 =11.879,P =0.000).Conclusion Irbesartan hydrochlorothiazide combined with candesartan in the treatment of elderly hypertensive patients can effectively improve the heart function of patients, has significant effect.
