1.A new anti-cancer target: ADAM10
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(7):492-495
Gene ADAM10 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase 10) is a member of ADAMs gene family. The corresponding membrane protein contains a disintegrin domain and a metalloproteinase domain. It is involved in various biological events such as cell adhesion, cell fusion, cell migration, and membrane protein shedding and proteolysis. ADAM10 protein is overexpressed in many tumors, which interacts with adhesion molecules and critical signaling molecules associated with cancer development and tumor progression, and promotes tumor invasion and metastasis. Regulating the expression of ADAM 10 can inhibit tumor invasion and metastasis , which may become a new strategy for anticancer therapy.

Objective To investigate the clinical features and analyze the molecular genetics of a pedigree of limb girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD).Methods Pedigree analysis and clinical examination were performed in one four-generation family with LGMD.Electrophysiology and muscle biopsy were done in the affected members. With an informed consent, gene mutation, genome screening and linkage analysis were conducted in 26 members of this pedigree. Results Seven patients were identified.Pedigree analysis was consistent with autosomal dominant inheritance.Affected members had early presentation.Main features included proximal muscle weakness without dysarthria nor spasticity; electrophysiology and muscle biopsy revealed myopathic changes.LGMD1 A, 1B, 1C and facioscapulohumeral dystrophy genes were not detected by gene mutation analysis.Genome screening and linkage analysis did not reveal any linkage with the disease-causing gene and the reported loci of LGMD1D and LGMD1F genes. Conclusions The clinical manifestations of this LGMD family are highly heterogeneous, and the disease-causing gene of this family is not linked to any of the reported sites, suggesting this may be a new disease-causing locus, or a new genetic type of LGMD.

Deflazacort (DFZ, a prodrug) is well absorbed and rapidly metabolized into the active metabolite 21-hydroxydeflazacort (21-OH DFZ) after oral administration. The aim of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetic properties of 21-OH DFZ in healthy Chinese volunteers after a single and multiple oral administration of DFZ tablets under fed condition. Twelve volunteers (six males and six females) were administered a single dose of 6 mg or 12 mg or 24 mg of DFZ in three different periods separately, according to the 3 x 3 Latin square design. Between each administration period there was a washout period of one week. The multiple-dose study of 12 mg dose DFZ per day for 7 consecutive days was started after a 1 w washout period when the single-dose study completed. The pharmacokinetic parameters of 21-OH DFZ after the single oral administration of 6 mg, 12 mg and 24 mg DFZ tablets were as follows: (37.7 +/- 11.6), (61.5 +/- 17.7) and (123 +/- 23) ng x mL(-1) for C(max); (1.90 +/- 0.32), (1.96 +/- 0.27) and (2.13 +/- 0.34) h for t1/2; (96.6 +/- 25.9), (190 +/- 44) and (422 +/- 107) ng x h x mL(-1) for AUC(0-14 h), respectively. After the multiple dose administration, the mean plasma concentration at steady-state C(av) was (7.00 +/- 1.66) ng x mL(-1) and the degree of plasma concentration fluctuation DF was 7.7 +/- 1.2. The results showed that the pharmacokinetic characteristics of 21-OH DFZ in healthy Chinese volunteers were linear over the dose range of 6 to 24 mg. No significant gender differences were found in the pharmacokinetics of 21-OH DFZ in healthy Chinese volunteers. After the multiple dose administration of 12 mg DFZ for 7 d, no accumulation of 21-OH DFZ in healthy Chinese volunteers was observed.

WHO released the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in 2001. ICF is a kind of classification of multi-purpose used for different disciplines and fields, it belongs to by WHO for different applications in the field of health and to establish the international classification of family, it is a tool for internationally accepted, its overall goal is to provide a unified, standard language and framework to describe the condition of health and health-related. This article will review the application status of ICF at home and abroad, to explore the nursing of ICF application value, in order to explore the application of ICF in nursing standardized terminology space.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1995;0(04):-
Objective:To study the changes of iNOS expression in periodontal tissues of rats with periodontitis in orthodontic tooth movement. Methods:48 SD rats at 10 weeks were divided randomly into two groups: periodontitis teeth group and normal teeth group. The maxillary first molar was pulled mesially both in the two groups. 4 rats were executed each time after activation of pull-spring 1, 2, 3, 7,14 and 21d both in two groups. iNOS immunohistochemistry staining were done to compare the expression variations. Results: There were significant differences between the two groups in 2,3, 7, 14 and 21 d. The periodontitis teeth group had stronger positive signals. Conclusion: Periodontitis will increase the expression of iNOS in the rats periodontal tissue during tooth movement, and influence the reconstruction of periodontium.

Objective: To study the selenium(Se) chemical forms in Se enriched tea by fertilizing sodiums selenite in soil and tea naturally high in Se and compare their antioxidant function. Methods: The Se enriched tea was produced by fertilization of sodium selenite through biological transformation of tea tree in low Se content soil. Five groups of rats were fed basal low Se diet and basal diet with sodium selenite, extractions of low Se tea, Se enriched tea by fertilizing with sodium selenite, and tea naturally high in Se. The Se chemical forms and antioxidant function of rats fed with different Se resource were detemined after 8 wks. Results: The proportion of organic forms of Se and Se protein were almost the same in Se enriched tea and tea naturally high in Se. The Se absorption and utilization rates were 65.41%, 68.05% ,and 70.49% for sodium selenite, Se enriched tea and tea naturally high in Se respectively. It showed that the availability of Se in Se enriched tea was higher than that in sodium selenite. The Se content of blood and liver, GSH Px activity were significantly increased by feeding extraction of Se enriched tea compared with control, sodium selenite and low Se tea.. Conclusion: The biological effect of organic form Se in Se enriched tea is higher than that of sodium selenite, and the Se enriched tea produced by fertilizing sodium selenite in low Se soil is as effective as tea naturally high in Se. The Se enriched tea is safe and effective in increasing the Se intake of both human and animals in low Se area.

International Journal of Surgery 2010;37(11):766-769
Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a common world wide disease.Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)has been the first choice for the unresectable midadvanced ones. However, TACE has its own limitation such as high recurrence rate and many complications, what's more, recurrence induced by neovascularization which is stimulated by activation of vascular endothelial growth factors promoted by ischemia and hypoxia in local tissues after the embolization always reduce the effect of treatment. And combination of TACE and anti-angiogenesis therapy is capable to make up the shortage of each other and reduce the recurrence rate, which has been a hot issue for non-surgical treatment of HCC.

Objective To investigate the effect of sequential method in the training of primary anesthesia nurses. Methods A phased, gradual sequential method was used to train 11 primary anesthesia nurses. One-year full-course training was divided in 4 stages, each lasting 3 months. The theory and operational examination were held at the end of each stage and the tutoring teachers reported their comments. Result The mean scores of 11 primary anesthesia nurses were more than 90 points in both theory and operations examination, and the mean scores of tutor′s evaluation more than 85 points in each stage. Conclusion The sequential method can help primary anesthesia nurses to get better anesthesia-related knowledge, skill and clinical comprehensive ability, which set a solid foundation for their work of anesthesia care.
