Objective To describe the levels of time management disposition and autonomous learning competency among nursing undergraduates and to explore the relation between them. Methods A total of 276 nursing undergraduates were interviewed by cluster sampling. Adolescent Time Management Disposition Inventory(ATMDI) and Measure Scale of Autonomous Learning Competencies(MSALC) were used to do the survey. Results The total score of nursing students′ time management disposition and autonomous learning competencies were (146. 12 ± 18. 42) and (86. 28 ± 9. 82), with the scoring rates were 66. 42% and 61. 63% , respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between time management disposition and autonomous learning competencies (r = 0. 596, P < 0. 01). Conclusions Nursing students′ time management disposition is not good, and autonomous learning competencies among them need to be further enhanced. Nursing students′time management disposition influences their autonomous learning competencies. It suggests that nursing educators should take measures to improve nursing students′ time management skills, so as to promote their autonomous learning competencies.
