Renal artery thrombosis can cause acute occlusion of unilateral or bilateral renal arteries,and kidney failure would be induced if it is not diagnosed and treated in time.Therefore,rapid and correct treatment is especially important for renal artery thrombosis.Due to the lack of specificity of clinical manifestations,this disease in commonly misdiagnosed or missed and thus has a low early diagnosis rate.Here we report a case of acute renal artery thrombosis to improve the diagnosis and treatment.

Anterior megalophthalmos (AM) is an uncommon developmental anomaly of the anterior segment of the eye with a constellation of findings that includes enlarged cornea, deep anterior chamber, posterior positioning of the iris and lens, iris stroma atrophy, hypoplasia of iris dilator, pupil displacement, large capsular bag, lens subluxation, prematurely cataract and the tendency to retinal detachment. AM, especially when symptoms are mild, is not an easy disease to diagnose. We present 3 AM cases that were misdiagnosed as congenital cataract with weak zonule and megalocornea. Intraocular lenses (IOLs) dislocated after standard cataract surgeries and subsequent surgery (replacing the dislocated IOLs with iris-claw intraocular lenses) achieved satisfactory outcome. Although rare, AM should be included in the differential diagnosis of enlarged cornea and we recommend implanting Artisan lens in AM patients.

Although most ingested foreign bodies pass through the gastrointestinal tract spontaneously, those that are sharp, pointed, or large require removal to avoid serious complications. Here we report an interesting case of a 60-year-old man who swallowed a clamshell that passed through the pylorus and was caught in the duodenum. Radiologic findings made it look like a biliary stone. Endoscopic retrieval of the clamshell with a Dormia Basket was performed safely and the patient was discharged uneventfully on the day of the procedure.

Harms technique of C₁-C₂ fixation for atlantoaxial complex becomes more popular due to good fusion rate and low vertebral artery injury (VAI) rate. But considering the unique and variable anatomy of atlantoaxial complex, iatrogenic VAI will result in catastrophic consequences and provides particular surgical challenges for surgeons. To our knowledge, comparing with iatrogenic VAI in the screw hole, iatrogenic VAI in the "open space" is much rarer during the Harms technique of C₁-C₂ fixation. In this article, we present a case of iatrogenic vertebral artery pseudoaneurysm after Harms technique of posterior C₁-C₂ fixation. This case of iatrogenic VAI effectively treated by endovascular coil occlusion and external local compression was initially misdiagnosed as VAI by pedicle screw perforation. It can be concluded that intraoperative or postoperative computed angiography is very helpful to diagnose the exact site of VAI and the combination of endovascular coil occlusion as well as external local compression can further prevent bleeding and abnormal vertebral artery flow in the pseudoaneurysm. However, patients treated require further follow-up to confirm that there is no recurrence of the pseudoaneurysm.

Pulmonary vein (PV) stenosis is a complication of ablation therapy for arrhythmias. We report two cases with chronic lung parenchymal abnormalities showing no improvement and waxing and waning features, which were initially diagnosed as nonspecific pneumonias, and finally confirmed as PV stenosis. When a patient presents for nonspecific respiratory symptoms without evidence of infection after ablation therapy and image findings show chronic and repetitive parenchymal abnormalities confined in localized portion, the possibility of PV stenosis should be considered.
