Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2001;17(1):21-25
Cytochrome P450 enzyme are an important enzyme family in drug metabolism. Human cytochrome P450 enzymes have been studied entensively about their polymorphism in recent years. polymorphism of CYP2C19 and CYP2D6 have been detected at both phenotypic and genotypic level, and their molecular mechanism have been studied entensively, however, the molecular mechanism of other enzymes for exzample CYP2C9,CYP1A1,CYP2E1 et al) is being discussed, though these enzymes possiblely exist polymorphism. The article summarizes the substrates of P450, molucular mechanism of polymorphism, and paticular reference to the effects of this variation on drug metabolism and susceptibility to chemically-induced diseases.
2.Comparison between four- and single-channel recording of normal multifocal visual evoked potential
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2001;0(03):-
objective To observe the differences between four- and single-channel recording of normal multifocal visual evoked potential (mfVEP). Methods mfVEP of 35 health individuals (70 eyes) were detected by both four- and single-channel recording with VERIS apparatus. The root mean square (RMS) value of reactive amplitude was obtained from the results of the two kinds of recording. Each stimulated patch was analyzed to compare the variational degree of each patch between the two recording methods. Responases asymmetry coefficient (RAC) was introduced to evaluate the symmetry property between the two eyes in an individual. Results Compared with the single-channel recording, the responses of the stimulated patches of the four-channel recording were increased statistically, with most of the patches below the horizontal meridian and some of patches in the upper field, and there was distinct symmetry property between the two eyes in the same individual recorded by four-channel recording. Conclusion The four-channel recording is better than the single one and could be clinically applied and popularized.
3.Distribution properties of multifocal pattern visual evoked potential across visual field
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2000;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the distribution properties of multifocal pattern visual evoked potential across visual field. Methods Multifocal pattern visual evoked potentials(VEP) of 14 normals were measured with VERIS Science TM 4.0. The visual stimuli were dart board 60 with patterns which consisted of 60 patches arranged in dart board configuration spanning a 26? visual field. The temporal modulation of each patch was controlled by a special type of pseudorandom sequence called binary m-sequence. The electrodes were placed at equal distances 2 cm inferior to and 2 cm superior to and straddling the inion . The first slice of the second order kernel for each stimulus patch was analysed. The 60 patches were grouped into several sectors. The summed responses of these sectors were analysed and compared. Results Compared with that of the lower hemifield, the polarity of the multifocal VEP of the upper hemifield was reverse, and the latency delayed, the response density decreased. With the eccentricity increased, the response density of the multifocal VEP decreased. The properties of the multifocal VEP of the horizontal sectors were different from that of the vertical sectors. Conclusion VEP of many locations within visual field could be recorded simultaneously in a short time with the method of mutifocal VEP. The multifocal VEP showed different properties in different sectors within visual field.
4.THE ANTITUMOR ACTION OF ADRIAMYCIN-POLY I:C COMPLEX IN VIVO AND IN VITRO
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
The binding of adriamycin to poly I:C, a double-stranded thetic homoribopolymor, and antitumor activity of adriamycin-Poly I:C complex were studied. Results showed that the affinity for adriamycin to poly I:C is no linear relationship. Adriamycin binding rate( % ) = 20.6 + 0.2268?Poly I:C(W)/adriamycin(W)? The increased therapeu-tic effect of the complex was comparable to that of the free and the Poly I:C alone on bearing Sl80 mice. In vitro cytotoxic effect of the complex is lower than free adriamycin following lh exposure. The complex is recommended for clinical therapeutic studies.

Flicker and photopic eletroretinogram(ERG)were recorded for 45 eyes of dry type of age-related macular degeneration(AMD)and 24 eyes of wet type of AMD respectively, the amplitude and phase of fundamental response compoment(30Hz)by discrete Fourier tranform(DFT)were analysed. The abnormality ratios of phases and amplitudes in fundamental responses, amplitudes of photopic white or red b-waves were 48.89%, 8.89%, 10.11% and 8.89% respectively. The visual acuities of 24 eyes were 1.0 or better, the abnormality ratios of phases were up to 37.50%. These suggest that the change of phases is a sensitive method for detecting the early abnormality of visual function in AMD. The abnormality ratios of phases and amplitudes in fundamental responses were 62.5% and 45.84% in wet type of AMD. The differences between dry type and wet type in amplitudes of fundamental responses and photopic b-waves were statistically significant(P

Objective To explore the clinical application value of multifocal oscillatory potentials (MOPs) in retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Methods MOPs were tested using VERIS 4.0 visual evoked response imaging system for 19 cases (19 eyes) of RVO,among them 8 cases of central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) and 11 cases of branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Twenty normal subjects were as normal control group. The stimulative visual angles subtended ?26.6? horizontally and ?22.1? vertica lly. The filter setting was bandpass 100~1 000 Hz. The retinal responses from 103 hexagons were recor ded in 4 min (8 segments). Results In normal control group, OP 1, OP 2 and OP 3 were recorded during 37 ms for first order and 47 ms for second order first slice in whole test field and 5 ring retinal regions, the oscillatory wave shapes of second order were clearer than those of first order. In RVO groups, 91.6% latencies of OP 1, OP 2 and OP 3 were delayed, and 70.8% amplitudes of OP 1, OP 2 and OP 3 were reduced. The delay of the latencies and the decrease of the amplitude in CRVO were more markedly than those in BRVO. Conclusion MOPs can be effectively and quantitatively used to evaluate the retinal function of the different location in RVO.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological trend and distribution of stroke mortality in residents of Tianjin, China. Methods The study was based on 102 718 died cases with stroke in Tianjin between 1999 and 2006. The death cause and the stroke typing were coded according to the ICD -9 and ICD -10. Standardized mortality rates were calculated for stroke and its subtypes, adjusted for age and sex according to the world standard population of the Year 2000. The age, sex and geographic distribution of the stroke and its subtype mortality were analyzed. Chi-square tests were used to determine the statistical significance of mortality trends and differences. Results Stroke mortality rate in Tianjin declined from 133.52 / 100 000 / year in 1999 to 102.52 / 100 000/year in 2006. Cerebral infarction accounted for more than 50% of stroke mortality. The stroke mortality rate for males (120.17 / 100 000 to 157.74 /100 000) was higher than that for females (84.87/100 000 to 109.31/100 000). Stroke mortality rates elevated with age (P
