Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2005;17(2):122-126
With the increase of link rate, the arbitrator of centralized switch fabric becomes too complicated to implement. A parallel switch fabric based on crossbar, named as PSFBC (Parallel Switch Fabric Based on Crossbar), has been proposed in this paper. PSFBC is composed of k switches whose rate is 1/k of link', these switches exchange cells in parallel; this increases the arbitrator's period and make it easy to implement. Load is evenly distributed to each switch with FCFS (First Come First Serve) rule, it can keep the order of cells in one stream. A multi-class queue scheduling policy is used in PSFBC to ensure the quality of realtime streams. Experiments show that the load on each switch in PSFBC is well balanced, its average delay of cells is little and its performance is very close to centralized switch; and with the increase of number of parallel switches, the loss of PSFBC's performance keeps very small, it becomes easier to implement.

BACKGROUND: Acellular amniotic membrane used widely in treating ocular surface disease as well as extensive burn wounds due to its low antigenicity and excellent histocompatibility. However, it is poorly understood whether it can be used in repairing urethral defects.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate role and the feasibility of human acellular amniotic membrane (HAAM) in the rabbit urethral reconstruction.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The randomized control experiment of animals was performed at the Laboratory Center of Guangxi Medical University between April and June 2007.MATERIALS: Thirty-two New Zealand rabbits were supplied by animal center of Guangxi Medical University. The human HAAM was obtained from Department of Obstetrics, First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.METHODS: HAAM was prepared by detergent-enzymatic approach. Firstly, the fresh amniotic membrane was protected with cross linking of 1% formaldehyde- 0.2% glutaral, digested with 0.125% trypsogen- 0.05 mol/L EDTA, followed by washing with 0.5% Triton X-100. Totally 32 New Zealand male rabbits were assigned into 3 groups: experimental group (n=12), control group (n=12) and sham operation group (n=8). Rabbits were prepared for urethral defects models in the experimental and control groups, which were repaired with HAAM or anastomosised directly. There was no urethral operation in the sham operation group.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The growth of epithelial cells and smooth muscle cells, as well as inflammatory cell infiltration was observed by histopathologic examination at days 10, 21 and 42 after operation. The urethral pressure changes and urinary bladder was examined by retrograde urethrography at day 42 after operation.RESULTS: ①The prepared HAAM was translucent, there was no residual cells or fragments. ②The pathological section examination showed that in the experimental group, some epithelial cells has grown without acute rejection at day 10 after operation, and several layers of urothelium covered HAAM at day 21 with reduced inflammatory cell infiltration. At day 42, a sprinkle of smooth muscle grew in HAAM with few inflammatory cells. Urodynamic studies indicated that there were no significant difference among 3 groups in the bladder volume, maximum urethral pressure and minimum urethral pressure (P > 0.05). The weight of bladder had obvious difference between the sham operation and control groups (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: HAAM is an ideal biomaterial with well histocompatibility, biocompatibility and low antigenicity. HAAM is a good choice for urethral reconstruction.

Objective To investigate the hepatocyte targeted specific property of galactosylated chitosan-graft-polyethyleneimine (GC-PEI)/DNA complexes in vitro and in vivo. Methods With the plasmid expressing enhanced green fluorescent protein (pEGFP-C1) as the reporter gene, the formation of GC-PEI/DNA complexes was induced to self-assemble in 0.01 mol/L phosphate buffered saline(PBS),150 mmol/L NaCl,or 5% glucose solution (GS).The complexes were characterized by the particle size,Zeta potential,DNA binding and protection capacity, and further tested for cytotoxicity and hepatocyte targeted degradation of DNaseⅠand the serum, which presented as a well-formed sphere or compacted nucleocapsid structure at a diameter of 50-200 nm.The GC-PEI copolymer showed no obvious toxicity in the tested cell lines.Acute toxicity assay revealed that the mice grew well in 2 weeks with GC-PEI dosage from 50 to 300 μg.The assay by flow cytometry and fluorescent microscope showed that the transfection efficiency in hepatocyte lines (L02,QSG7701/core) was higher than that in non-hepatocyte lines (SGC7901,HBE) in vitro. In vivo, the GFP was obviously expressed in the liver tissue and not expressed in other organs 48 h after the transfection. Conclusion GC-PEI copolymer may carry the exogenous gene specifically to hepatocytes in vitro and in vivo, which has very good liver targeted specific property.

Objective To compare the effect of hip artificial replacement and DHS internal fixation for the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture, and investigate the difference of the two method. Methods Eighty-six pa- tients with intertrochanterie fracture patients were treated with hip arthroplasty, and dynamic hip screw. The pa- tients were followed up for 6 months, and compared the operation rime, blood loss, postoperative complications, sur- vival rate, postoperative hip function score and lose situation. Results There was no significant difference in opera- tion time, blood loss, postoperative complications,in local symptoms hip varus deformation occured in the DHS inter- hal fixation because lag screw cut-our and the collapse of the medial cortex, hip and thigh pain oecured in artificial re- placement, hip function score dropped 9.5 % in DHS and 9.2% in artificial replacement. Conclusion For elderly patients, eomminuted fracture and osteoporosis, and other types of unstable intertrochanteric fracture patients, the primary purpose of surgery is to provide to patients more activities of the early conditions,so hip arthroplasty can be used to the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture,as a reasonable replacement surgery.
