Objective To investigate the effects of electromagnetic irradiation on activation of protein kinase C(PKC)and phosphorylation of glutamate receptor 2(GluR2)in rat cerebellum. Methods Sixty male Wistar rats were divided randomly into a control group and an electromagnetic exposure group(including 5 subgroups ob- served at different time points after the irradiation,eg.0 hour,3 hours,12 hours,24 hours and 72 hours after irradi- ation),with 10 rats in each group. All the rats in the exposure group were exposed to 90 mW/cm2 electromagnetic ir- radiation for 20 minutes, their rectal temperature was detected immediately after irradiation and the specific absorption rate(SAR)value was calculated, activation of PKC was detected with improved TaKai method, the level of cerebellar GluR2 expression and phosphorylation(ser880)was detected by using Western blot. Results Immediately(0 hour)after exposure, the rectal temperature of rats increased 2.99℃,SAR value was 8.66 W/kg.When compared to the control group,it was found that there was no significant difference between the exposure group and the control group with regard to all the parameters at 3,12,24 and 72 hours after exposure, except that the cerebellar PKC acti- vation and GluR2(ser 880)phosphorylation decreased significantly immediately after irradiation. Conclusion The electromagnetic irradiation has injurious effects on cerebellar signal pathway of for motor learning.
2. Preparation of sustained release ethyl cellulose nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning with ethanol as sheath fluid
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2014;49(8):659-663
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preparation of sustained release drug-loaded nanofibers by using a modified coaxial electrospinning process, in which only solvent is exploited as sheath fluid. METHODS: Ethanol was used as sheath fluid and ethyl cellulose (EC) and ferulic acid (FA) were taken as filament-forming matrix and active pharmaceutical ingredient, respectively. RESULTS: Drug-loaded EC nanofibers were smoothly and continuously generated without any clogging through the coaxial process. Field-emission scanning electron microscopic observations demonstrated that the nanofibers' diameters could be manipulated through adjusting the flow rate of sheath fluid. The composite nanofibers were in essential a molecular solid dispersion of EC and FA based on the hydrogen bonding between them, as verified by XRD and FTIR results. In vitro dissolution tests showed that FA in the nanofibers had a fine sustained release profile via a typical Fickian diffusion mechanism. CONCLUSION: The modified coaxial electrospinning with solvent as sheath fluid can be a useful tool for developing novel sustained release drug delivery systems.
3.Treatment and nursing of a cysticercosis patient with multiple foci
Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control 2018;30(2):241-243
Objective To analyze the relevant data, including medical history, treatment and nursing of one cysticercosis patient with multiple foci in Baise City,so as to provide the evidence for improving the treatment and nursing of cysticercosis in the future. Methods The data of diet history, diagnosis, treatment and nursing of the patient were collected and analyzed.Re-sults The patient was a permanent resident in a cysticercosis high endemic area and had a definite history of eating measly pork. The combination of clinical manifestations and auxiliary examinations of the patient confirmed that he was suffered from cysticercosis with multiple foci. After the patient was firstly administered the antiparasitic treatment of cysticercosis(praziquan-tel),he had status epilepticus. However, with the close cooperation between physicians and nurses, his illness obviously im-proved and 35 days later,he discharged. Conclusion The physicians and nurses should pay much attention to the changes of illness of the patients with cysticercosis, especially the cysticercosis patients with multiple foci in the antiparasitic treatment of cysticercosis,so as to avoid cerebral herniation due to the increased intracranial pressure.

Rats were continuously given different doses of water extract of Polygonum multiflorum (1, 10 g x kg(-1)) for 7 days to prepare liver microsomes. Cocktail in vitro incubation approach and Real-time quantitative PCR technology were used to observe the effect of water extract of P. multiflorum on CYP450 enzymatic activities and mRNA expressions in rat liver. Compared with the blank control group, both 1, 10 g x kg(-1) water extract of P. multiflorum treated groups showed significant inhibitions in CYP2E1 enzymatic activities and mRNA expressions (enzymatic activities of CYP2E1, P < 0.01; mRNA expression of CYP2E1, P < 0.05 in 1 g x kg(-1) group, P < 0.01 in 10 g x kg(-1) group). They revealed a significant increase in the enzymatic activity of CYP3A1 (P < 0.01), but without significant change in mRNA expressions. The 10 g x kg(-1) group showed a significant inhibition in CYP1A2 enzymatic activities and mRNA expressions in rat livers (P < 0.01).
