OBJECTIVETo explore clinical effects of internal fixation in treating displaced clavicle fracture combined with coracoid process.
METHODSFrom January 2005 to July 2012, 9 patients with displaced clavicle fracture combined with coracoid process were treated by internal fixation. Among them, there were 6 males and 3 females with an average age of 40.1 (ranged from 20 to 57) years old. According to Eyres classification: 3 cases were type II B, 1 case was type II A, 3 cases were type III B, and 2 cases were type V A. All patients had history of injury, and diagnosed as coracoid fracture X-ray and CT before operation. Herscovici criteria was used to evaluate function of shoulders joint after operation.
RESULTSSeven of 9 patients were followed up from 6 to 18 (averaged 11) months. The incisions were healed at stage I, coracoid process obtained bony healing, and reduction of acromioclavicular joint well. According to Herscovici criteria, 6 patients got excellent results and 1 in good.
CONCLUSIONInternal fixation for the treatment of displaced clavicle fracture combined with coracoid process could restore physiological anatomical position of coracoid process, and benefit for recovery of limb function.

Objective To establish the 2 day-old SD rats model of periventricular leukomalacia(PVL).Methods Sixty-five healthy 2 day-old SD rats were randomly divided into 3 experimental PVL groups and 3 control groups. The experimental PVL groups were subjected to right carotid ligation(RCL),and then they were suffered from hypoxia by 6% oxygen and 94% nitrogen for 4 hours.Meanwhile sham surgeries were performed on control groups without exposed to hypoxia.Light and electronic microscopy were used to observe brain pathological changes.Immunohistochemistry methods were used to detect the distribution and expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),?-amyloid precursor protein(?-APP),myelin basie protein(MBP) and O4 of brain at 72 hours post-operation.Han-(ging) test, inclined plane test, open field test and cylinder test were performed on the rats 28 days post-operation.Results 1.In the PVL groups, light and electronic microscopy showed that tissue necrosis was observed in the periventricular white matter area at early stage, and at later stage right ventricular dilation, decrease of the corpus callosum area and loss of medullary sheath were detected. The morphometrical analysis showed that GFAP and ?-APP integrated optical density(A) of PVL group was increased, and mean diameter of GFAP-immunoreactive cells was also increased in PVL group, while MBP A of PVL group was decreased compared with contral group. The density of O4-immunoreactive abnormal cells was dramatically increased in PVL group. The outcomes of neurobehavioral tests of PVL group were greatly abnormal compared with control group. Conclusion The changes in 2-day-old SD rats,RCL-hypoxia model are accor-(ded) with the pathology and behavior characeriatis of PVL.

Through scale-up cultivation of Eriobotrya japonica suspension cells using WAVE bioreactor, the cell growth and ursolic acid (UA) accumulation were studied. The comparison test was carried out in the flask and the reactor with cell dry weight (DW) and UA content as evaluation indexes. The culture medium, DW and UA content were compared in 1 L and 5 L working volumes of bioreactor. The orthogonal test with main actors of inoculation amount, speed and angle of rotation was developed to find the optimal combination, in 1 L working volume of bioreactor. DW of the cell growth and the UA content in bioreactor were higher than those of the shaker by 105.5% and 27.65% respectively. In bioreactor, the dynamic changes of elements in the fluid culture, the dry weight of the cell growth and the UA content in 1 L and 5 L working volumes were similar. Inoculation of 80 g, rotational speed of 26 r · min(-1), and angle of 6 ° was the optimal combination, and the cell biomass of 19.01 g · L(-1) and the UA content of 27.750 mg · g(-1) were achieved after 100 h cultivation in 1 L working volume of bioreactor. WAVE Bioreactor is more suitable than flasks for the E. japonica cell suspension culture, and culture parameters can be achieved from 1 L to 5 L amplification.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2001;53(2):128-132
Immunohistochemical and electron microscopic techniques and image analysis were employed to investigate the regulation of cardiac AT1A and AT2 subtype receptors in rats during cardiac remodeling following myocardial infarction (MI). Positive immunostaining for AT1A and AT2 receptors was observed in myocytes and vessels with AT1A being more than AT2. Three days after MI, disappearance of myocardial cross striation and fibroblast hyperplasia were found with electron microscopy. AT1A receptor protein expression in myocardial noninfarcted portion notably increased compared with that in sham-operated control rats (P<0.001). No apparent changes were observed in AT2 receptor (P>0.05). Two weeks after MI, myocyte cross striation and collagen deposition were found. Meanwhile, AT1A receptor staining decreased compared with that of three days after MI (P<0.01), but there was still more than that of the control (P<0.05). AT2 receptor was significantly increased compared with that of the sham-operated control rats (P<0.001). These results suggust that both AT1A and AT2 receptor protein expression was upregulated in noninfarcted myocardium after MI, and the regulation of AT1A and AT2 receptors after MI may be involved in post-infarction cardiac remodeling.
