4.Resources of Chinese Herbs Sang (Morus sp.) in Sichuan and strategies for development and utilization.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2008;33(24):2871-2875
A comprehensive analysis was conducted on resources composition of Chinese Herbs Sang (Morus sp.) in Sichuan using survey data and related literature. The original plants, germplasm collections, cultivation areas, main cultivated varieties and production sale of crude drugs of Sang in Sichuan were clearly expounded. Strategies for development and utilization of Sichuan mulberry resources were suggested.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(7):414-417
Objective To study the balance function of normal persons and to explore the differences in gender and age groups. Methods Forty parameters of 445 normal persons(16-70 years old, 205 of male, 240 of female ) were detected by static posturography while they were in seat, double foot standing with opening and closing eyes, and single foot standing with opening eyes. The results of male and female, standing with opening eyes and closing eyes, left foot standing and right foot standing were compared. Results Everyone's center of gravity was distributed in A zone while they were in seat. At standing with opening eyes and closing eyes, the center of gravity in A zone were in 429 subjects( 96.4%) and 436 subjects( 98.0%). Most parameters showed significant difference between the women and the men, opening eyes and closing eyes, left foot standing and right foot standing, different age groups. The stability in closing eyes was better than that in opening eyes, right foot standing was better than left foot standing. Most values of 20—39 years old group were the best, 70—79 years old group were the worst. Conclusion Static posturography can evaluate human balance function objectively and quantitatively. The stability is related to age and gender. To judge the balance function, the subject's age and sex must be taken into account.

Objective To compare the efficacy of 18F-FDG PET/CT, 99Tcm-MDP bone scintigraphy (BS), and combination of the two techniques (PET/CT + BS) for detecting bone metastasis by ROC curve analysis. Methods All 296 patients with various cancers, who underwent both 99Tcm-MDP BS and 18F-FDG PET/CT within two months, were retrospectively analyzed. These images were interpreted according to 5-point scale (0: definitely negative, 1: probably negative, 2: equivocal, 3: probably positive, 4:definitely positive for bone metastasis), and the scale of PET/CT + BS was the sum of PET/CT and BS. In light of the confirmed diagnosis derived from pathology or follow-up, ROC curve analysis was performed.The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was compared by z-test. Results Of 296 cases, 61 (20.6%) were confirmed as bone metastases and 235 (79.4%) were negative. The AUC were 0. 919 (95% confidence interval (95% CI) :0. 867 - 0. 971) for BS, 0. 949 (95% CI: 0. 906 - 0. 991) for PET/CT, and 0. 994 (95% CI: 0.988-0.999) for PET/CT + BS, rctrospectively. The AUC of PET/CT + BS was statistically significantly larger than that of BS (z=2. 866, P=0.004) or PET/CT (z =2.027, P=0.043), while the AUC of PET/CT was larger than that of BS, but no statistically significance (z = 0. 881, P = 0. 378) was showed. The optimal sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value(NPV) were 90. 2% (55/61), 85. 1% (200/235), 86. 1% (255/296), 61. 1% (55/90), 97. 1%(200/206) for BS, 88.5% (54/61), 97.0% (228/235), 95.3% (282/296), 88.5% (54/61), 97.0% for PET/CT, and 98.4% (60/61), 95.7% (225/235), 96.3% (285/296), 85.7% (60/70) for PET/CT + BS,respectively. The specificity (χ2 = 19.862, P<0. 001), accuracy (χ2 = 23. 361, P<0.001) and PPV (χ2 =11. 791, P =0.001) of PET/CT + BS were significantly higher than those of BS, the sensitivity of PET/CT +BS was significantly higher than that of PET/CT (χ2 =4.167, P=0.031). Compared with BS, PET/CT had a higher specificity (χ2 = 19.600, P<0. 001), accuracy (χ2 = 13. 755, P <0. 001), PPV (χ2 = 13. 608, P <0. 001), but their sensitivity showed no statistically significant difference (χ2 = 0, P = 1. 000). Conclusions The efficacy of 18F-FDG PET/CT for detecting malignant bone metastasis was superior to that of 99Tcm-MDP BS alone. The detection ability can be obviously improved by combination of the two techniques.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the serological positive results of brucellosis and its clinical manifestations in the key occupational population in Baotou City. METHODS: A total of 9 937 individuals from eight districts who were engaged in livestock breeding, grazing, slaughtering, processing, and selling from 2018 to 2019 in Baotou City were selected as the study subjects by a cluster sampling method. Blood samples were collected and serological tests of brucellosis were performed. The demographic characteristics and clinical manifestations of these subjects were investigated by a questionnaire. RESULTS: The seropositive rate of brucellosis in the study subjects was 2.7%(273/9 937). The average age of the individuals with serological positive reaction of brucellosis was(44±13) years. The seropositive rate of brucellosis was higher in males than females(4.8% vs 1.2%, P<0.05). In the brucellosis seropositive population, the regional distribution was the highest in Damao Qi district and the lowest in Qingshan district; the mainly occupation distribution was farmers, herdsmen and workers in beef and mutton processing plants. The exposure ways were mainly slaughtering animals and delivering lambs. The main clinical manifestations were fatigue(54.2%), followed by fever(48.7%). CONCLUSION: The characteristics of brucellosis serological positive reaction are young age, males, and farmers and herdsmen in key occupational group in Baotou City. The prevention and control of brucellosis should be focused on young male farmers and herdsmen engaged in slaughtering animals and delivering lambs.
