Objective:To set up a system for the culture of Dendrobium chrysotoxum in vitro. Method:Tissue culture, fire fly luminescence and phenol-H2SO4 method. Result:The embryo could germinate with or without light, the MS, 1/2MS, B5, N6 mediums are suitable to the growth and the differentiation of sprout with light, 0.5 mg*L-1NAA and 1 mg*L-16-BA, and ATP have regular changes, the content of polysaccharide was 2.833% in plant and 7.254% in sprout. Conclusion:The light has no effects on the embryo germination, but the phytohormone, nitrogen source and organized elements are important to the growth and differentiation of the sprout which should be transferred to the MS, 1/2MS, B5, N6 mediums in time supplemented with NAA与6-BA, ATP may be served as the dynamic indication of nourishment demand in the plant. The content of polysaccharide in the sprout is higher and can be utilized.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2007;32(13):1285-1288
OBJECTIVETo investigate the preparation of Shuanghuanglian taste-masking microspheres by spray-drying.
METHODTraced the compounds bitterness source, marked its curve and optimized the microspheres preparation by taking taste evaluation, microspheres yield and inclusion rate as the indexes.
RESULTThe bitter taste of compounds comes from Forsythia suspensa. The best taste-masking material is Eudragit E100. The optimal spray-drying parameters: solvent concentration 2.0%, inlet air temperature 75 degrees C, aspirator 35.0 m3 x h(-1), spray flow 0.35 m3 x h(-1), pump speed 8.0 mL x min(-1).
CONCLUSIONThe spray-drying as a method of masking the traditional Chinese medicine compound taste have advantages of simple process and efficient masking.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2006;31(1):15-17
Release in vitro is one of the indexes for quality control of solid dosage forms. It is not only the important indexes for evaluation of bioequivalence, also the important parameter of formulation optimization, study of the stability and quality control within producing of sustained or controlled release dosage forms. The review is the study on index for formulation optimization of sustained or controlled released dosege forms in China since 1999, including the application of similarity factor and deviation.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2007;32(15):1511-1514
OBJECTIVEBitterness appraisal method of Chinese drugs and preparation is established.
METHODThe investigation table was designed by analogical epidemiology investigation. Then the statistical analysis was made for the data, and berberine bitter taste threshold was calculated. Verification experiment was made by two kinds of complex prescription.
RESULTBerberine is determined as the standard bitter material. Statistics results about verification experiment are significant.
CONCLUSIONThe system could be bitterness appraisal method of Chinese drugs and preparation.

Oral solid rapidly-disintegrating dosage form has aroused general concern increasingly because of its characteristics about convenient taking, rapid absorption, high bioavailability and not serious adverse drug reaction. This article introduced its mechanism, which was rapid disintegration, fast dissolution or the promoting dissolving action of supplementary material. This dosage form included dispersible tablets, fast dissolving tablets, fast releasing tablets, droppills, granules and tablets by solid dispersible technology, quick-liquefying chewable tablets and dry elixir. It will become a new way for promoting bioavailability in traditional Chinese medicine difficultly-dissolving composition, create up a new dosage form for treating emergency case by traditional Chinese medicine and give a new thinking for studying new supplementary materials. In brief, oral solid rapidly-disintegrating dosage form will have good prospect in the field of traditional Chinese medicine.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2008;33(3):333-338
In this review, methods for testing in vitro release rate of sustained release preparations of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and in vivo-in vitro correlation were introduced. Studies indicated that a good correlation between in vivo and in vitro release can be obtained by establishing methods of in vitro release and it is important for the development of sustained release drug delivery system in TCM.

Objective To investigate the distribution of high-arsenic drinking water in Honghu city of Hubei province in order to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of endemic arsenic disease. Methods Investigations were made in 22 townships(towns,districts),68 natural villages of the drainage areas of the Dongjing River, the Neijing River and the Yangtse River in 2006 and 2007,with the townships(towns, districts)around Shahu town in Xiantao city as the focal point.1000 water samples were drawn each year, which was 10% of all the wells in every natural village.Using sampling investigation, water arsenic Was determined by half-quantitative fast reagent kit.All samples of water with arsenic exceeding the standard(≥0.03 mg/L)were re-determined according to state standard.Surveys on the disease was carried out in the villages(brigades)where arsenic exceeded the standard. Results A total of 2000 samples were surveyed from 68 natural villages,of which there were 401 samples from 48 villages exceeding the standard in a rate of 20.05%(401/2000).The highest arsenic content Was 0.71 mg/L.The high arsenic water sources were distributed mainy in the drainage areas of the Dongjing River and the Neijing River, but no patients with endemic arsenic disease were found. Conclusions The high arsenic water sources are distributed mainly in the drainage areas of the Dongjing River and the Neijing River. It is suggested that the interrelated government departments should take precise measures to impmve the quality of drinking water and ensure safe water to the residents in high arsenic areas.
