National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(6):483-488
The incidence rate of erectile dysfunction (ED) is reportedly as high as 30-90% after radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, which seriously affects the patients' quality of life. Penile rehabilitation is defined as the use of any drug or device at or after radical prostatectomy to maximize erectile function recovery. A variety of treatment options are available for post-prostatectomy ED patients, including oral phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (PDE5I) , intracorporal injections, vacuum erection device, and penile prosthesis. This article presents an overview of the currently used methods for the drug treatment and penile rehabilitation of the ED patients after radical prostatectomy. It seems proper to recommend daily use of a vacuum erection device plus oral PDE5I in the early postoperative period. For those who fail to respond to this therapy, intraurethral alprostadil, intracorporal injections, or a penile prosthesis could be considered.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(10):-
Objective To investigate the chemopreventive potential of salvianolic acid B against 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene(DMBA)-induced hamster buccal pouch carcinogenesis with respect to angiogenesis. Methods(Sixty) male Syrian golden hamsters were randomly divided into 4 groups(group A and B,n=20;group C and D,(n=10).) DMBA solution(0.5% in acetone) was applied topically to the right cheek pouch of male Syrian golden hamsters in group A and B,while animals in group C were painted with acetone,3 times a week for 6 weeks.Animals in group D received neither DMBA nor acetone in the first 6 weeks.Two days after the last treatment of(DMBA,) animals in group B and D received salvianolic acid B daily(10 mg/kg) by gavage,while animals in group A and C received same volume of saline,for the next 12 weeks.At the end of the experiment,animals were sacrificed and tissue samples were collected for histopathological and immunohistochemical examination. Results Salvianolic acid B significantly decreased the incidence of squamous carcinoma(P

Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases 2001;0(06):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Adefovir dipivoxil in the 52-week treatment of chronic hepatitis B in China.Methods We randomly assigned 480 patients with chronic hepatitis B who were positive for hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)in China.During the first 12-week period,480 patients were randomly to receive either 10 mg of adefovir dipivoxil(ADV)or placebo once daily in a 2:1 ratio and in the second period,all patients were accepted ADV for 18 weeks.In the last 12-week stage,all patients treated by ADV were randomly to receive either 10 mg of ADV or placebo in a 2:1 ratio and patients treated by placebo were accepted ADV.The primary end point was serum HBV DNA change during the treatment.The secondary endpoints were ALT normalization rate,HBeAg loss rate and HBeAg seroconversion rate.Results At week 12,median serum hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA levels of group AAA(ADV-ADV-ADV)and group AAP(ADV-ADV-Placebo) were reduced 3.4 and 3.3 log copies per milliliter,significantly greater than group PAA(Placebo- ADV-ADV)of 0.1 log copies/ml reduction(P
9.STUDIES ON LIQUID STATE CULTURE CONDITIONS OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI
Wen-De TONG ; Hao ZENG ; Quan-Ming ZOU ;
Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
There are still many problems at liquid state culture especially large-scale culture for Helicobacter pylori at present. Using analytical technique of single factor test statistics, a suitable medium and shaking culture conditions for Helicobacter pylori have been selected. The experimental results showed: under the optimal shaking culture conditions Hp could be growed well enough in Brucella broth with ?-CD. The thalli weight reached 0.6g/100mL.

Forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii), a rare wild medicinal animal, is listed under the category of the state key protected wildlife list of China. Musk, secreted by the musk glands, is with high economic and medicinal value and used as precious traditional medicine in China. In order to meet the needs of musk in Chinese traditional medicine, forest musk deer farming was conducted in 1950s, but the research progress on musk secretion mechanism was slow. Therefore, by reviewing the histological and anatomical structure of forest musk deer musk gland, the relationship between sex hormones and the musk secretion process, and the molecular mechanism of the musk secretion, the existing problems in investigating the musk secretion mechanism were analyzed and the development trends in this field were also discussed, in order to provide a reference for further studies on the musk secretion mechanism and improve musk production of forest musk deer.
