Objective: To investigate the effect of different degrees of ischemic white matter lesions on the cognitive function in patients with lacunar infarction. Method: One hundred twelve consecutive patients with lacunar infarction were collected. Age-related white matter changes rating scale (ARWMCRs) was used, and according to the results of ARWMCRs scores, the patients were divided into mild (n = 34, 0-3 scores), moderate (n = 43, 4-7 scores), and severe (n = 35, 8-24 scores) groups. The national health institutes of stroke scale (NIHSS) and the modified Rankin scale (mRS) scores were used to assess the degree of neurological deficit. The mini-mental status scale (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) were used for neuropsychological tests, and event-related potential two-tone sequence auditory P300 (2t-P300) wave was used for neural electrophysiological examination. The cognitive function was evaluated. The cognitive function among all groups was compared. Results: Circled digit oneThere were significant differences in comparison of the MoCA scores among the three groups. Only the mRS score and the MMSE score in the severe group were lower than those in the mild and moderate groups. There were significant differences (P < 0.05). Circled digit twoThe latency of P300 wave in the severe group was higher than that in the moderate and mild groups, and the latency of P300 wave in the moderate group was higher than that in the mild group. There was significant difference (P <0.05). The amplitude of P300 wave in the severe group was lower than that in the moderate group and mild group. There were significant differences (P < 0.05). Circled digit threeThe ARWMCRs score in patients with white matter lesions was negatively correlated with the MMSE score, MoCA score, and amplitude of P300 wave. It was positively correlated with the latency of P300 wave and mRS score. Conclusion: White matter lesions impact the cognitive function in patients with lacunar infarction. The more severe the white matter lesions, the more significant decline in cognitive function.

Objective　To investigate the epidemic situat ion of the dental fluorosis among the people in Tianjin area.Methods　With the method of random sampling we investigated epidemic situation of the dental fluorosis among the people aged 12 to 15 in Tianjin area.Results　The minimum patient's rate for this disease among those aged 12 to 15 is 32.11 percent while the maximum is 78.09 percent.The l owest dental fluorosis index is 0.851 and the highest is 1.923.The patient's rate and the index are both higher than the average rate and index of the whole cou ntry.Conclusions　Tianjin is one of the areas where the dental fluorosise epidemic mostly occurs.

Industrial Microbiology is a stem course in the undergraduate and graduate education of Biological Engineering major; and the research and development on computer -aided education in biological fields is just at the beginning stage in China. This paper focuses on the construction and application of web-based courseware for teaching and studying of industrial microbiology.

Objective:To investigate the influence of MRI examination on the position of closure devices for congenital heart diseases and to assess the effect of these devices on the image quality of MRI.Methods:Two atrial septal defect closure devices, 2 ventricular septal defect closure devices and 1 patent ductus arteriosus closure device were placed into a transparent non-metal container filled with boiling agar,with the agar completely covering the devices.The agar changed into glue after cooling,then the devices were sequentially scanned by MRI in transverse and coronal planes.The changes of agar integrity,the position of devices and the image quality were observed after scanning.Results:The surface of the agar covering the devices was smooth and had no breakage after the scanning.There was no change in the shape and position of all types of devices.The coronary, transverse scanning(T_1 WI,T_2WI)showed a few slight artifacts on the central layer,all within the contour of the device.The mesh of device near the edge was clearly showed.Conclusion:Under our experimental condition,MRI does not affect the position of closure devices for congenital heart diseases and the devices do not affect the MRI image quality.
