Objective To analyze the clinical effects of 131I-HAb18F(ab')2 radioimmunotherapy via hepatic artery on PLC with portal vein tumor emboli. Methods Under the condition of thyroid protection and negative dermal sensitivity test, 12 times of intraarterial injection with 131I labeled murine HCC monoclonal antibody fragment HAb18F(ab')2 were performed in 8 patients of PLC complicated with portal vein tumor emboli. A 0.75 mCi/kg dose of 131I was administrated individually into certain target vessel after hepatic artery angiography using Seldinger technique. Results 3 of 7 patients with symptoms of pains showed remission with simultaneous improvement and stabilization in Karnofsky score in 3 and 4 patients respectively. AFP levels decreased about 50%(3/6)in 3 cases among those 6 positives and the values of I.B. and ALT changed within a very narrow range to a certain extent after the treatment. The overall rate of CR + PR was 28.6% and similar better result was obtained in a non-symptomatic diffuse PLC patient.1 year survival rate was 12.5%. Conclusion 131I-HAb18F(ab')2 radioimmunotreating drug(0.75 mCi/kg)with hypotoxicity to liver-function can be used as an acceptable method for unresectable PLC with portal vein tumor emboli, especially for those without tumor emboli in the main trunk.

OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to observe the healing process of palate wound with denuded bone restored with transplanted buccal or palatal mucosa and to elucidate the mechanism of maxillary growth inhibition following palate repair.
METHODS32 Japan white rabbits, 5 weeks old, were selected as the subjects for this study. They were divided into 4 groups at random. The rabbits in group I was the control without receiving any treatment. The rabbits in group II, III, IV was surgically denuded the bone of palate, and afterwards, the rabbits in group II were not received further restoration, but rabbits in group III and IV were restored with transplanted buccal and palatal mucosa respectively. From 2 to 14 weeks after surgery, at regular intervals, palatal wounds were observed by using a light microscope. Histological changes were also compared among different groups.
RESULTSIt was found in group II that dense connective tissue was formed 2 weeks after the surgery, and Sharpey's fibers was formed between the scar and bone tissue 4 weeks after the surgery. However, no Sharpey's fiber was found in group III and group IV, and in the latter two groups, the histological character of tissue was similar to that of the control.
CONCLUSIONPrevention of the attachment of Sharpey's fibers to the palatal bone could be effectively accomplished by covering the denuded palatal bone with the transplanted buccal or palatal mucosa.

Objective To detect the expression of ARK5 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)tissue and hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells, and to investigate its effect on the growth of hepatoma cells. Methods The expression levels of ARK5 mRNA and protein were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting in 30 cases of HCC tissue, paracarcinoma tissue,SMMC-7721 cells, and hepatic cells LO2.The SiRNA of ARK5 and negative control (NC) siRNA were constructed and transfected into the SMMC-7721 cells, and used as experimental group and negative control group;at the same time blank control group was set up. The proliferation activity and apoptotic rate of transfected cells were detected by MTT assay and flow cytometry (FCM).Results The PCR and Western blotting results showed that the expression levels of ARK5 mRNA and protein in HCC tissue and SMMC-7721 cells were significantly higher than those in paracarcinoma tissue and LO2 cells (P<0.05 ). The MTT assay results demonstrated that the inhibitory rates of growth of transfected cells in experimental group at 24,48 and 72 h were (19.39±5.42)%, (23.19±0.53)%,and (20.74±1.23)%;there were significant differences compared with blank control group and negative control group (P<0.01).The FCM results indicated that the apoptotic rate of the transfected cells in experimental group was (15.017±0.945)%,there were significant differences compared with blank control group (8.770%± 0.656 )% and negative control group (8.763%± 1.201%) (P<0.05 ). Conclusion The ARK5 expression level is significantly increased in HCC tissue and hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells;the inhibition of ARK5 expression could suppress the growth of hepatoma cells and induce apoptosis. So ARK5 maybe act as a cancer-promoting gene and induce hepatocellular carcinogenesis.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(11):1603-1609
BACKGROUND:No studies currently focus on the measurement of daily water loss under certain physical activity level continuously and precisely.
OBJECTIVE:To provide evidence for daily water requirement in Chinese young men based on the measurement of the daily water loss in Chinese young men under moderate physical activity.
METHODS:Twenty male subjects were enroled, and 23-hour whole-body sweat loss and urine output were measured using high-precision body weighting scale in whole-room indirect calorimeter. The results were converted to daily (24-hour) water requirement to determine the daily water requirement. Daily whole-body sweat loss per unit body weight, daily whole-body sweat loss per unit fat free mass and daily whole-body sweat loss per unit surface area were calculated.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In Chinese young men, daily water loss was (3 339.7±509.9) g, daily urine output was (1 982.9±449.5) g and daily whole-body sweat loss was (1 356.7±215.6) g. There was a linear correlation between water intake and water loss (r=0.616,P < 0.05). Daily whole-body sweat loss per unit body weight was (21.0±3.6) g/kg, daily whole-body sweat loss per unit fat free mass was (25.8±3.9) g/kg and daily whole-body sweat loss per unit surface area was (799.4±129.4) g/m2. Daily water requirement of Chinese young men under moderate physical activity is approximately 3 340g, and moreover, water loss increases with the increase of water intake.
