1.The clinical significance of K-ras mutation detected in plasma cell-free DNA from patients with colorectal carcinoma

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of K-ras mutation in plasma cell-free DNA from patients with colorec-tal carcinoma .Methods Plasma cell-free DNA in 212 patients with colorectal carcinoma were extracted and identified by Globin gene .K-ras mutation was amplified by RE-PCR and compared with results of pathological biopsy samples DNA .Results Plasma cell-free DNA were successfully obtained from 212 cases .But no plasma cell-free DNA were found in normal control .Out of 212 ca-ses ,34 cases showed K-ras mutation(16 .00% )in cell-free DNA ,and 33 cases showed positive in pathological biopsy samples DNA (15 .57% ) .It was found two kinds of K-ras mutation on code 12-GGT to GAT ;GGT to GTT .K-ras mutation was not related to tumors′position(χ2 =3 .34 ,P=0 .61);to differentiation degree(χ2 =2 .38 ,P=0 .29);to Dukes staging(χ2 = 2 .84 ,P=0 .38);to lymphoid nodes′metastasis(χ2 =0 .98 ,P=0 .37);to age(χ2 =1 .86 ,P=0 .39) .Conclusion Tumor-derived DNA can be detected in plasma of underlying cancer patients .For colorectal carcinoma patients ,detecting K-ras mutation of plasma cell-free DNA have the same clinical significance as biopsy samples .Moreover ,it′s more convenient and non-invasive .

Dermoid cysts occur in the maxillary sinus mucosa were rare. Patient's CT showed: maxillary sinuses Sinus cavity expansion, sinus wall thinning. The inside of the sinus wall disappeared, the maxillary sinus filled with soft tissue mass shadow. Bacterial culture: Staphylococcus aureus. Pathological report: a very small a mount of scattered broken squamous epithelium and keratosis, no atypia cells. Lesions consistent with epidermoid cyst. Patients with epidermoid cysts, formated probably in the process of embryonic development, the reasons of rapid growth may be considered for inflammatory stimulation.

Hazards of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) to crowd who are long-term exposured and work in the noisy environment is increasingly prominent. But just part of the individuals who are exposed to the same noisy environment have hearing loss, and the severity of hearing loss are different, which indicates genetic predisposition might be associated with NIHL. In recent years, many experts and scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research in this field, this article summarizes all available studies.

This article reviewed the clinical efficacy,methods and mechanisms of massage treatment for hemiplegic spasticity.
5.A preliminary study on the relevance of facial morphologic angles of Xi'an youths

Objective:To explore the correlativity between facial morphologic angles of Xi'an youths.Methods:60 Xi'an residents aged 18 -40 years(30 males and 30 females)with normal facial profile,without operation and trauma experience,received 3dMD scaning.12 morphologic angles were measured.Data were statistically analysed by SPSS 19.0 software.The correlative relationship and formulas of facial angles were studied.Results:Nasofrontal angle of the males was larger than that of the females(P <0.05), the other angles showed no difference between sexes(P >0.05).Correlativity between each pair of 5 angles was concluded by a logic diagram(R≥0.7),the correlativity of 4 pairs was positive and 3 negative.Conclusion:The facial morphologic angles of Xi'an youths are correlated and coordinated.
6.Difference of gene expression in bone marrow mononuclear cells between a chronic myeloid leukemia patient and a healthy person

BACKGROUND: Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is characterized by the clonal expansion of hematopoietic stem cells. Without effective treat ment, individuals in the indolent, chronic phase (CP) of CML will undergo blast crisis (BC), the prognosis for which is poor. Therefore, it is important to clarify the mechanism underlying CML from a whole-genome perspec tive. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the gene expression profile of bone marrow mononuclear cells from CML with Applied Biosystems Expression Array System.DESIGN: Observation and controlled analysis.SETTING: Institute of Gene Engineering, Southern Medical University PARTICIPANTS: Samples of two cases of bone marrow (a chronic myeloid leukemia patient and a healthy person).METHODS: This experiment was conducted at the Institute of Gene Engineering, Southern Medical University from October 2004 to September 2005.The total RNAs were extracted and purified from bone marrow mononuclear cells derived from a CML patient and a healthy person. mRNAs were purified using an oligo (dT)-cellulose mRNA purification kits and labeled using reverse transcription, in vitro transcription (RT-IVT), then hybridized with microarray. Gene expression differentiation of the bone marrow mononuclear cells were examined by ABI 1700 Chemiluminescent Microarray Analyzer. Reproducibility of microarray results was assessed by comparing data sets obtained from the same sample and analyzed by two different arrays.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ①Assessment of quality of total RNA and labled cRNA. ②Reproducibility of microarray. ③ Hybridization of array.④Results of semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction RESULTS: ①Using statistical data analysis tools, we identified 6 706 genes that were up- or down-regulated in CML patient compared with the healthy person. In these genes, we found that 17 genes were up-regulated while 51 genes were down-regulated among 68 genes closely related to CML. ②most differentially expressed genes in C/EBPalpha mediated path way and CD40L signaling pathway had reduced expression. ③Good repro ducibility of microarray was confirmed by analysis of correlation and detection concordance in technical replicates. The correlation coefficient of the detectable probe in technical replicates was 0.991 for the CML patient and 0.988 for the healthy person. ④The results of semi-quantitative RT-PCR experiments supported the reliability of our microarray analysis.CONCLUSION: By comparing expression patterns of CML with those of the healthy person, we identified a large number of genes that, were up- or down-regulated in CML patients. These data should provide useful information for finding candidate genes whose products might serve as molecular targets for treatment of CML patients.
7.Development of medical equipment positioning management system

Objective To develop a set of medical equipment positioning management system to monitor the state of the medical equipment from the distribution center.Methods The system executed marking,management,monitoring and positioning of medical equipment with wireless sensor network related technologies and traditional network infrastructures.A power sensor was designed with TI's ZigBee SoC chip CC2430F128RTC,which estimated the working state and position of medical equipment by detecting its real-time power.Results The system accorded with international standard agreements,and had no problems in signal interference and conflict.Conclusion The system contributes to real-time positioning and mastering state of medical equipment,and thus is of great significance for enhancing medical equipment management.

Objective To study the characteristics of skinfold thickness of Han adults in Jiangsu province . Methods The skinfold thicknesses of facial , subscapular , suprailiac , biceps , triceps and calf on 311 urban adults ( 157 males and 154 females) and 421 rural adults ( 213 males and 208 females ) of Han were investigated in Huaian city of Jiangsu province .Results The thickness of skinfold of urban females were thicker than that of urban males .Rural adults were the same .Han adults of Jiangsu showed the most significant differences between urban areas and rural areas .The values of six skinfold thicknesses of Jiangsu urban adults have positive correlation with age .Conclusion Han adults of Jiangsu show the most significant differences between genders .
9.Three-dimensional Constructive Interference Steady State Sequence in Evaluation Dorsal Root Ganglion Compression in Lumbar Disc Herniation

Purpose To investigate the diameter change of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in lumbar disc herniation using three-dimensional MR neurography. Materials and Methods Sixty-ifve patients with lumbar disc herniation and 30 healthy volunteers were selected. Bilateral DRG diameter was measured using MR three-dimensional constructive interference steady state (3D-CISS) sequence at the level of L3-S1 in the control group and at the level of herniation disc in patient group including central and lateral subgroups. The relationship between the sagittal index and DRG diameter at the level of herniation disc was analyzed. Results In the control group, the DRG diameters increased from the level of L3 to S1. The DRG diameters of the central subgroup were bigger than those of the control group (t=-2.485--2.253, P<0.05). The DRG diameters of the lateral subgroup were bigger on the diseased side than the contralateral side (t=1.956-2.432, P<0.05). The DRG diameters of the contralateral side in lateral subgroup were slightly bigger than those of control group without statistical signiifcance (t=-1.248--0.981, P>0.05). The sagittal index was not correlated with DRG diameter. Conclusion 3D-CISS sequence clearly demonstrates morphological changes of lumbosacral nerve root and measures its diameter.
10.CT and MRI findings of granulomatosis with polyangiitis of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus

Objective To investigate the CT and MRI findings of granulomatosis with polyangiitis of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus. Methods The CT and MRI features of eight patients of granulomatosis with polyangiitis in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus confirmed by histo-pathology were analyzed retrospectively.CT scanning was performed in all eight patients.Routine MRI scanning was performed in seven patients.Dynamic contrast MRI was performed in three cases.SImax ,SIpeak ,Tpeak and MSI of the time-intensity Curves(TICs)were calculated.Results On CT scanning,bilateral middle turbinate,uncinate process and nasal septum were defected in 8 cases.Medial wall of bilateral maxillary sinus showed destruction and other walls of bilateral maxillary sinus showed sclerosis in 8 cases.The ethmoid labyrinth were involved in 6 cases in which the volume of maxillary sinus reduced.The collapse of nasal dorsum and flat nasal bone occured in 4 cases.Nasopharyngeal soft tissue was thicken in 2 cases.Theorbit was involved in 1 case.The mucosal thickness of all group of sinuses were showed in all 8 cases.On MRI scanning,peripheric mucosal of the lesions showed iso or long T1 and long T2 signal in 7 cases.Dynamic-enhanced MRI showed heterogeneous enhancement.TICs showed flat.But in one to four periods showed a slow rising gradient.SIpre was 1 030, SImax 2 500,SIpeak 2 353,Tpeak 100 s,and MSI 1.28%.Conclusion Granulomatosis with polyangiitis of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus shows some typical CT and MRI features.To summarize the features is helpful to the diagnosis and therapy of the lesion.
