Objective To compare the diagnostic value of CT and NE for lesions of nasal cavity and paranasal sinus area.Methods 80 cases of nasal and paranasal sinus diseases which were examined by both CT and NE at same period and proved by pathology.were reviewed.Results Compare with results of pathology,the accucy rate of both CT and NE was identical in diagnosing sinusitis and tumours of paranasal sinus,NE was higher than CT in nasal and paranasal sinus polyp and nasal cavity tumour,turbinate hyperplasia CT was higher than NE in paranasal sinus cyst and anatomic variations.Conclusion Pathologic biopsy can be taken under NE guide to understand the shape,texture and colour of the illness focus CT can show the size,shape and anatomy relation between lesion and its neighbor tissue.The diagnosis may more perfectly through NE combined with CT.

Objective To study the value of MR diffusion tensor imaging (MR-DTI)using a 3.0 T scanner in anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(AION).Methods A total of 26 patients suffering from unilateral subacute AION were examined using DTI and pattern visual evoked potential(P-VEP).The parameters values of optic nerves including fractional anisotropy (FA),ADC,vertical diffusivity (λ⊥),paralleldiffusion (λ//),P100 value and amplitude were obtained.Paired t-tests were used for comparing the FA,ADC,λ⊥,and λ// values of the two groups.Correlations of DTI parameters and P-VEP parameters were analysed by using the Pearson rank correlation analysis.Results The values of FA,ADC,λ//,and λ_ in the affected nerve were 0.28±0.07,(1.43±0.20) ×103 mm2/s,(1.79±0.16) ×10-3 mm2/s,and (1.25±0.17) ×10-3 mm2/s respectively,and the corresponding values of unaffected nerve were 0.57±0.05,(1.04±0.17) ×10-3 mm2/s,(1.71 ±0.19) × 10-3 mm2/s,and (0.75±0.08) × 10-3 mm2/s respectively.Compared to unaffected contralateral nerves,the mean FA was reduced,the mean ADC,λ⊥ were increased in the affected nerves(t=-19.269,10.537,15.301,P＜0.01).However,there were no significant difference of the λ//(t=l.632,P＞0.05).There was significant negative correlation between ADC and P-VEP amplitude in affected optic nerves (r=-0.722,P＜0.01).There was moderate negative correlation between λ⊥ and P-VEP amplitude in affected optic nerves (r=-0.634,P＜0.01).There was moderate correlation between FA and P-VEP amplitude (r=0.539,P＜0.01).There was no correlation between λ// and P-VEP amplitude.There was moderate negative correlation between FA and P-VEP P100 latency(r =-0.619,P＜0.01).Conclusions DTI can sensitively detect diffusional abnormality of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.DTI could be used as a supplemental way in the assessment of AION.

Objective To study MR imaging diagnostic value of brain-stem cavernous angioma(BCA).Methods 9 cases of BCA proved both surgically and pathologically with integrated clinical,MRI and pathological data were analyzed.Results The clinical attacks were divided into two types:the sudden and the resting.The MRI findings of BCA included:isointensity or hypointensity on T1WI(76.5%),isointensity or hyperintensity on T2WI(85.3%),heterogeneous mixed signal intensity on both T1WI and T2WI (36.2%),hypointense ring round angioma on T2WI (16.2%).On Gd-DTPA scanning,the lesions were slight enhancement or no enhancement in 8 cases.The shapes of lesions were round-like in most cases(86.6%),and typical moruloid or network in some cases(11.7%).The lesions localized in the midbrain in 3 cases,in the pons in 4,and in the medulla oblongata in 2.The histopathological findings included:composite pathological changes in most cades,elastic fibers in the angiomatous lacuna vasorum in 3 cases,visible drainage vein and supply artery in 2 cases.MRA showed hyperintensity around the angiomas in 5 cases.Conclusion MR imaging is of significant value in diagnosing BCA.

Objective To develop a new optometer controlled by micro-computer.Methods With AT89C51 single-chip as hardware and programmed by C language,the instrument applied,the optometer adopted LCD and international standard optotype.The optotype had 14 lines of object-finders,and only one line of random characters was displayed on the screen every time.The optometry distance was 3m.All procedures were controlled by singlechip.Results The case of memorizing eye-chart was avoided and the optometry was every simple.Conclusion The instrument eliminates mirror used for optometry short distance,and the optometry results can be stored and printed.It also has the merits of small volume,precise manufacture,simple operation,low cost and AC/DC power supply.

Objective To discuss the principle and clinical application of microcomputer optometer.Methods The optometer is composed of singlechip,handle and LCD.The eyesight is examined by selecting exposure of random sample eye-chart mark 'E' within direction keys on the handle.Results The optometer has the merits of simple manipulation,exact result,small cubage,AC/DC power supply and so on.Besides,it prevents the testee from remembering eye-chart.Conclusion The optometer can be extensively used in hospital,school,every work unit or even family.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the influence of drinking on hearing loss of pilot students, especially on high frequency hearing loss. METHOD: According to whether drinking, 517 male pilot students were divided into two groups. The balance of all the factors in addition to drinking in both groups was compared. All the students were examined by pure tone audiometry. The statistical data of this research was processed based on a retrospective cohort study. RESULT: The damage of high frequency (4-8 kHz) auditory threshold in left and right ear in drinking group were obviously higher compared with control group (P < 0.01). The Morbidity of hearing loss in drinking group was significantly higher compared to control group (χ2 =16.620, P < 0.01). CONCLUSION Drinking is associated with the hearing loss in pilot students and particularly affects the hearing of high frequency spectrum.

Objective To investigate radiation dose diffent type of anesthesia affected radiation dose when we do interventional therapy for child patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).Methods From 201 1 to 2014,we collected 50 children(3-6 years old)with PDA which received interventional therapy were included in the study.They were divided into two groups:group A (25 cases,male/fe-male=7/18,mean weight=1 5.32 kg±2.41 5 kg)underwent interventional therapy of PDA under general anesthesia,and group B (25 cases,male/female=13/12,mean weight=1 6.40 kg±2.056 kg)using local anesthesia.The surgery were operated by the same doctor,we used DSA children cardiovascular film AE mode (ped CARD)to monitor the surgery,image frames 1 5-30 f/s,used the non-ionic contrast agent (Iodixanol 320 mg I/mL)and recorded the child cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product(DAP),and time of fluoroscopy,and do statistical analysis.Results All 50 cases were performed the surgery successfully. There were no significant difference of age,weight and gender between groups (age:t=1.924,P =0.06;weight:t =1.703,P =0.095;gender:χ2 =3.00,P =0.083).The cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product (DAP)and time of fluoroscopy were (0.061±0.025)Gy,(5.08±2.19)Gy·cm2 and (3.15±1.16)min in A group,and (0.094±0.046)Gy,(8.41±3.587)Gy·cm2 , (6.86±3.27)min in B group.The sequence and image number of two groups were same.There were significantly differences of cumulative incidence of skin surface dose (AK),dose area product (DAP)and time of fluoroscopy between two groups (AK:t =3.152,P =0.003;DAP:t =3.957,P =0.000;time of fluoroscopy:t =5.346,P =0.000).The radiation doses of A group significantly lower than B group,compared with B group,the radiation dose were 40 percent [(1-5.08/8.41)%]lower in A group,the 1.1 7 times discrepancy of time of fluoroscopy between two group [(3.1 5-6.86)/3.1 5].Conclusion Radiation dose is associated with type of anesthesia. Compared with local anesthesia,radiation dose reduced 40% using general anesthesia during interventional therapy for PDA.

Objective To evaluate diagnostic value of CT coronal scan to foreign body in bronchus of children.Methods 30 cases appearances of CT coronal scan to foreign body in bronchus of children were analysed.The appearances between CT coronal scan and axial scan,X-ray examination of chest were contrasted in some cases.Results Foreign body in bronchus or granuloma around part of foreign body were shown clearly by CT coronal scan in 30 cases,28 cases obstructive emphysema,13 cases obstructive pneumonia and 3 cases obstructive atelectasis were also shown clearly.Another,CT coronal scan showed the double margin sign of 16 cases diaphragm and 11 cases mediastinum.Conclusion CT coronal scan could show direct and indirect signs of the most foreign body in bronchus of children and it may be acte as primary examintion.

Objective To investigate the effects of EMP exposure to male BABL/c mice on the reproduction and its sex ratio.Methods Thirty-three male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into sham-exposed group,10 000 pulses/d exposed group,and 100 000 pulses/d exposed group with 50 Hz static magnetic field of 35 kV/m for 2 weeks consecutively,then the male mice were mated with unexposed females (1 male vs.2 female).Mated males were sacrificed to examine the exposure effects on sperm number and testis index after 7 days of mating.The sex ratio of embryos collected from unexposed mated females was investigated by PCR.Results The sex ratio of offspring was 0.298 (14/47) in the 10 000 pulses/d exposed group,significantly lower than 0.871 (27/31) in the sham-exposed group.No statistical changes were observed in the sex ratio of offspring,sperm number,the weights of testis and testis index after 100 000 pulses/d exposure.Conclusions The exposure of male mice to 35 kV/m EMP at 10 000 pulses/d for 2 weeks consecutively may change the sex ratio of mice's offspring.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of induced membrane technique for reconstruction of large tibia bone defects in adults.Methods From February 2010 to February 2014,28 cases with tibia bone defect (16 cases caused by traumatic,9 cases caused by chronic osteomyrlitis,and 3 cases caused by tumor resrction)were treated in our deparment.There were 21 males and 7 females,with a mean age of 36.7 years old.The mean bone loss after final debridement and tumor resrction was (6.2 ±2.6)cm,and the maximum length of bone loss was 16 cm in this series.All the patients were treated by induced membrane technique,and the healing rate,occurrence of complications and limb function were recorded.The bone union was assessed by Paley scores.Results The average duration of follow-up ranged from 12 to 37 months,averagely (23.4 ±4.7)months.The healing rate was 85.7% at a mean time of 5.2 months.According to the Paley scores,there were 20 cases of excellent,6 cases of good,2 cases of moderate.There were 2 patients with pin site infection,2 patients with deep infection re-quiring operative debridement,1 patient with superficial iliac incision infection,1 patient with nonunions of one ends of the bone gap,and 1 patient suffered the implant failure due to fullweight-bearing early.Conclusion The induced membrane technique is a valid option for the management of large tibia bone defects in adults caused by traumatic,tumor resection and removal of chronic osteomyelitis lesions,which sig-nificantly shorten treatment cycle,provide satisfactory results with minimal complications,and promote good recovery of limb function.
