1.Contribution to the study on chemical components and biological properties of the herb medicine Herba Piperis lolot
Pharmaceutical Journal 2004;0(10):8-10
In March 2001, on white mice, herba pipers lolot collected in Ha Noi surburd was studied concerning the chemical components, its toxicity and antiinflamative pain relief activities. Results showed a same chemical composion in the root and the stem with alcaloid, volatile oil, flavonoids, anthranoids, tannin, reductive sugar, amimo- acid…Total flavonoid level accounted for 1,14%. On thin layer chromatography there were 8 stains of flavonoid, 5 of alcaloids. About toxicity: decoction fluid of the dose of 200g/kg body weight, no toxicity was found. In alcoholic 90o extract with the dose of 20 g/kg body weight there was an antiinflamnative effect just at the 1st hour to 30th hour of the experiment, 39,63 - 69,15% of inflammative manfestation were inhibited. The solution of 4% total flamvonoid inhibited inflammation from 41,08% to 58,21%. Pain relief: in both methods alcoholic extact inhibited 62,50%- 64,05% and flavonoid in 4% solution inhibited 42,6- 54,6% equivalent to aspirine

2.Evaluation of anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of different formulations made from a massage tincture
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;0(6):180-183
Two models: experimental traumatic edema (I) and 1% carrageenin-induced edema (II), were developed on rats for the study of the anti-inflammatory effects of drugs, I being superior to II as for the efficacity and appropriate treatment. The model for the study of the analgesic effect was developed by pressing on rat legs. Of the various prescriptions prepared from a traditional massage tincture, the formulations of 5% propylene glycol and emulgel were more effective in anti-inflammation and analgesia than the tincture itself.

3.Studies on Biological Activities of Modified "Nh? tr?n thang" Prescription
Journal of Medicinal Materials - Hanoi 2004;9(4):115-119
Traditional remedy of Nhi Tran Thang was modified by adding some native medicinal plants. The new formula was checked concerning several selective bioactivities such as bronchodilatation, cough releaf and control of sputum. Adding Calotropus, it gave good efficacy to product the new preparation named “Tiphocihen Sirup” with good effect for dilating the bronchus, controlling cough and sputum in experimental animal
