1.Effect of Bupleurum Chinense injection on endogenous pyrogen fever and change of cAMP concentration in cerebrospinal fluid in rabbits
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
The experiments were divided into two parts. The first part: inhibitory effect of Bupleurum Chinense injection on fever was observed. The second part: while Bupleurum Chinense injection inhibited fever, the cAMP concentration in cerebrospinal fluid was observed. The experimental fever models were induced by endogenous pyrogen from monocytes of rabbits' blood. The results obtained demonstrated that the Bupleurum Chinense injection (250mg/kg) had marked inhibitory effect on the endogenous pyrogen fever and the cerebrospinal fluid cAMP levels of the experimental group was obviously lower than in control. The authors inferred that inhibitory effect of Bupleurum Chinense injection on endogenous pyrogen fever may be obtained through some-link to reduced central cAMP content.
2.Observation on fever response of leukocytic pyrogen fever and change of cAMP content in cerebrospinal fluid during electric needling "Baihui" point in febrile rabbits
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
In order to analyze the mechanism of febrifugal effect of electric needling "Baihui (Hundreds Converge)" point of febrile rabbits, 108 rabbits were divided into 5 groups, serveing as experimental animals. The results obtained showed: 1. In febrile rabbits induced by monoeytic pyrogen, electric needling "Bai hui" points has significant febrifugal effect, i. e. inhibiting the rise of body temperature, in the meantime the cAMP content rose in c. s. f. was markedly inhibited. 2. On febrile rabbits, electric needling blocking "Bai hui" point and Non-acupoint exhibited no marked febrifugal effect, i. e. showing apparently fever response, and at the same time cAMP contents in c. s. f. was strikingly increased. 3. Blocking of "Bai hui" point itself did not produce any effect on pyrogen-induced fever and cAMP content increased. The author inferred that the mechanism of inhibitory effect of electric needling "Bai hui" points in febrile rabbits might be closele assocated with feeling of local sensible tissue (e. g. free nerve endings) in "Bai hui" point, and with producing nerve impuls which transmitted through some mode to brain. As a result, increased cAMP was inhibited and setpoint to move up was inhibited.
3.Expression rate and intensity of HLA-DR on monocytes of the peripheral blood of SLE patients
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1989;0(06):-
A new APAAP method has been used to detect HLA-DR expression and expression intensity on monocytes in peripheral blood of 46 SLE patients and 22 normal individuals. The HLA-DR positive expression rate of monocytes averaged 77.4?9.12% and the DR antigen expression intensity on monocytes averaged 3.4?1.27?10~(-2) in 25 active SLE patients. Those of the normal individuals were 52.1?6.30% and 2.1+0.6?10~(-2) respectively. It was found that the mean value of active SLE patients were significantly higher than those of 21 remission patients (53.7?14.81%, 1.3?0.47?10~(-2)) and the normal individuals(P0.05).In SLE patients, HLA-DR positive expression rate of monocytes correlates with DR antigen expression intensity on monocytes (r 0.82,P
4.Correlation between expression rate of HLA-DR positive monocytes in peripheral blood and content of PGE_2, IL-1 in sera of SLE patients
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(02):-
The expression rate of HLA-DR~+ monocyte in peripheral blood and con-tent of PGE_2, IL-l in sera or 43 SLE and 19 normal individuals were observed. The re-sults showed that the expression rate of HLA-DR~+ monocytes averaged 52?5.88% in 19normal individuals. In 46 patients with SLE, HLA-DR~+ monocytes averaged 77.3?9.51% in 24 active patients, and 52?14.74% in 19 remission patients. There were signi-ficant difference of the HLA-DR~+ monocytes between active patients, remission patientesand normal individuals (P

7. Effects of kanglaite capsules combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization on patients with advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma
Tumor 2008;28(5):436-439
Objective: To observe the clinical effects of kanglaite capsules combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) on patients with advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: Sixty-five cases were divided into 2 groups at random. In treatment group, 32 patients received kanglaite capsules after TACE and 33 patients in control group were treated with TACE singly. The objective response rate (RR), serum alpha fetoprotein (AFP), peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets (T-1s), quality of life (QOL), time to progression (TIP), and adverse reaction were observed. Results: The objective response rate and serum alpha fetoprotein levels had no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Treatment group was superior to control group in the quality of life (QOL), the time to progression (TIP), peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets (CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ ratio), and frequency of adverse reactions in liver. The difference was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Kanglaite capsules combined with TACE was an effective method for primary HCC patients who have lost the surgical chance.
