Constructivism teaching theory emphasizes the central role of student in learning and this theoretical framework holds that learning always builds upon the active exploring and discovering new knowledge.Department of orthopedics in the first affiliated hospital of Chongqing Medical University introduced and implemented constructivism teaching in teachers' research and teaching activity as well as in students' learning. This mobilized students' learning enthusiasm and improved clinical teaching quality.

Objective: To explore the effect of electro-acupuncture and musk injection on recovery of injured sciatic nerve function in rats, so as to provide the experimental evidences for the promotion of peripheral nerve regeneration by electro-acupuncture and musk injection. Methods: Following establishing rat model of sciatic nerve injury by operation, the rats were randomly divided into electro-acupuncture group, musk injection group, electro-acupuncture plus musk injection group and model group, then sciatic functional index (SFI) and motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) were measured after 4 weeks of treatment, 8 weeks of treatment and 12 weeks of treatment respectively to evaluate recovery of nerve function. Results: SFI and MNCV in electro-acupuncture group, musk injection group and electro-acupuncture plus musk injection group were improved more obviously than that in model group, with significant differences(P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusions: Both electro-acupuncture and musk injection could promote recovery of injured nerve function, and they had a certain synergetic effect and might be the effective methods in promoting recovery of injured peripheral nerve function.

Objective To investigate the effect of human umbilical cord blood stem cells on flash visual evoked potentials (F-VEP) of the traumatic optic neuropathy rats. Methods Forty-eight Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into an injury group (Group A) and 3 treatment groups (Groups B,C,and D).A traumatic optic neuropathy model was built in Group A,and the rats in Groups B,C,and D were injected with the neurotrophic factor, human umbilical cord blood stem cells, and the mixture of the neurotrophic factor and human umbilical cord blood stem cells,respectively.F-VEP was recorded in both eyes of rats at the 1st h,1st week,2nd week,3rd week, and 4th week after the optic nerve injury. Results At all time points, there were significant difference in the wave latency and amplitude between Group A and normal control eyes (P<0.01).The differences of the wave latency and amplitude between Group A and Groups B,C,and D were statistically significant at various time points after the injury except for the wave latency at the 1st h post-operation (P>0.05).The amplitude in Group D was higher while the latency was shorter than those of Group B at all time points since the 1st week (P<0.05).The comparisons at the same point in the remaining treatment groups were not significantly different (P>0.05).Conclusion The mixture of human umbilical cord blood stem cells and neurotrophic factor has a promotion effect for the recovery of F-VEP of optic nerve in traumatic optic neuropathy in rats to some degrees.

Objective To investigate the effects of silencing STMN1 by siRNA on the sensitivity of oesophageal cancer cells Eca-109 to paclitaxel .Methods The STMN1 siRNA(siSTMN1) or scramble siRNA(SCR) were transient transfected into Eca-109 cells .The mRNA and protein levels of STMN1 were detected by qPCR and Western blot in the Eca-109 cells of different groups .In vitro paclitaxel sensitivity of siSTMN1 and SCR transfected Eca-109 cell lines was tested by MTT assay and colony formation as-say .Hoechst 33258 nuclear staining were used to investigate the effect of silencing STMN 1 on the sensitivity of SCR ,siSTMN1 transfected Eca-109 cells and nontreated counterparts under paclitaxel induced apoptosis .Results The transient transfection cell lines were successfully established .Both protein and mRNA levels of STMN1 were effectively down-regulated in the siSTMN1 transfected Eca-109 cells .Down-regulation of STMN1 significantly enhanced the sensitivity of Eca-109 cells in response to paclitaxel (P<0 .01) .In addition ,the siSTMN1 transfected Eca-109 cells displayed significant apoptosis as assessed by Hoechst nuclear stai-ning(P<0 .01) .Conclusion Silencing STMN1 by siRNA could enhance the sensitivity of oesophageal cancer cells Eca-109 to paclitaxel .

Objective:To investigate the relationship between the distance from the upper and lower resection margin and the gastric cancer patients with R0 resection and no distant metastasis. Methods:Retrospective analysis of 281 patients with gastric cancer in our hospital, the relationship between the age, sex, tumor size, tumor size, vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis,TNM stage, type of gastric cancer, tumor location and operation mode was analyzed. To compare the survival time of patients with different upper and lower margins. Results:The increase of the distance from upper resection margin was significantly related to the tumor size>5 cm,TNM stage, type of gastric cancer, tumor location, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);The distance of lower resection margin was significantly correlated with tumor size>5cm,vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage, type of gastric cancer, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);Themedian survival timein patientsof upper resection marginr□3cm with 48 months of the 5-year follow-up period was significantly higher than that in patients of the resection margin>3cmwith 46 months (P<0.001).Themedian survival timein patientsof lower resection margin□3cm with 45 months of the 5-year follow-up period was significantly higher than that in patients of the resection margin>3cm with 44 months (P<0.001).Conclusion:Gastric cancer postoperative upper and lower resection margin was significantly related with tumor size,TNM staging factors, and the median survival time of upper and lower resection margin>5 cm was significantly lower than that of the resection margin3 cm.

The paper described the development stages of a hospital performance evaluation scale based on patient experience. An empirical application on 7 856 patients of 26 hospitals in four provinces in the country identified the challenges encountered in the course of its application. These include limits of patients experience, variations on the experience reports incurred by different services experienced by patients, and setting of the patient-inpatient ratio among others.Solutions proposed based on these studies aim at creating a patient experience scale tailored to Chinese patients.

From March 2015 to February 2018, 4 728 women aged 18 to 45 years old with single?pregnancy at the gestational age of 13 to 27 weeks in Hefei were recruited to analyze the trend of vitamin D status. The average levels of serum 25(OH)D in 2015, 2016 and 2017 were (43.22±18.41) nmol/L, (39.3±15.1) nmol/L and (36.6±17.0) nmol/L, and the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency were 69.5%, 77.6% and 81.4%, respectively. Compared with 2015, the levels of serum 25(OH)D in pregnant women in 2016 and 2017 decreased by 5.23 (95%CI: 4.10-6.35) nmol/L and 7.98 (95%CI: 6.77-9.19) nmol/L. The OR (95%CI) values for the risk of vitamin D deficiency were 1.88 (95%CI : 1.57-2.24) and 2.41 (95%CI : 1.98-2.93).
