Objective:To investigate the inhibition of methylmercury on proliferation of human small cell lung cancer NCI-H446 and to compare with As_2O_3 and cisp latin.Methods:MTT chromatometry was adopted.Cultured NCI-H446 cells were incubated with different doses of methylmercury,As_2O_3,or cisplatin at 2.5,5,10,20,40 μmol/L.The optical density OD_(570) value were detected to calculate the inhibitory rate of proliferation.The nude mice model bearing tumor was constructed by subcutaneous injection with transplanting NCI-H446 cells.MMC was used at 10 mg/kg in administration with normal saline as the control.Tumor size was measured and tumor volume was calculated.Then the morphologic change was observed by HE stainning.Results:OD_(570) value of methylmercury groups were lower than that of the control groups at any doses and the difference was significant from 2.5 μmol/L group(P<0.05).The difference of the OD_(570) value of methylmercury groups under the same concentration among the different times were significant (P＜0.05);OD_(570) value of As_2O_3 and cisplatin groups were also lower than that of the control groups.There was no significant difference with MMC and cisplatin.OD_(570) value of MMC and DDP groups were higher than that of As_2O_3 groups.The volume of the tumor of the experiment groups was smaller than that of normal saline group,and the necrocytosis was more than that of normal saline group by HE stainning.Conclusion:Methylmercury could inhibit the proliferation of human small cell lung cancer NCI-H446,and the effect is both time- and dose-dependence.At the same doses,this effect may be equal to cisplatin's and stronger than As_2O_3's.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis factors of child hemophagocytic syndrome(HPS)in different age groups.Methods Eighty-five children cases of HPS were divided into 3 age groups,0-2 years old (group A),＞2-8 years old (group B) and ＞8-14 years old (group C).The etiology,pathology,clinical symptoms,laboratory detection and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed.Results In the etiology,the etiology in the group A,B and C was dominated by EB virus infection,the infection positive rate in the group C was significantly higher than that in the group B and C;in the bone marrow examination:the occurrence rate of granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio ＜1.0 in the group A was higher than that in the group C;in the clinical symptoms,cervical lymph node enlargement mostly occurred in the group B,hepatosplenomegaly was most rare in the group C,and the serous cavity effusion commonly occurred in the group B;in the laboratory detection,the LDH level in the group B was higher than that in the group A,the above differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in other clinical symptoms and laboratory detection results among the three groups (P＞0.05);In the comparison between the survival group and death group,the serous cavity effusion,triglyceride(TG),CD4/CD8 ratio and granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio in bone marrow had statistical difference(P＜0.05).The above factors were performed the Logistic analysis,the results showed that TG＞3.5 mmol/L,CD4/CD8 ratio ＜1.24 and bone marrow granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio ＜1.02 were the unfavorable risk factors affecting the prognosis of child HPS (P＜0.05).Conclusion Partial clinical characteristics of child HPS are related with the onset age,TG level,CD4/CD8 ratio and bone marrow granulocytes to erythrocytes ratio are the risk factors affecting prognosis.

Objective: To investigate the difference in influencing factors for diabetes between urban and rural residents in Hefei City, so as to provide the basis for control and research of diabetes. Methods: The residents aged 18 years and older were selected using the stratified multistage random sampling method from 5 districts (counties) in Hefei City from August to December 2021. Demographic information, smoking, self-rated health status and sleep duration were collected through questionnaire surveys. Height, body weight and fasting blood glucose were measured. The crude prevalence of diabetes was calculated and standardized by age using China Statistical Yearbook 2022. Factors affecting diabetes were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model. Results: Totally 10 443 residents were investigated, including 6 386 urban residents (61.15%) and 4 057 rural residents (38.85%). There were 4 690 males (44.91%) and 5 753 females (55.09%). Diabetes were detected in 1 492 cases, with a standardized prevalence of 9.57%. The standardized prevalence of diabetes among urban and rural residents were 9.21% and 12.58%, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that region, age, educational level, occupation, body mass index and self-rated health status were influencing factors for diabetes. Further analysis stratified by urban and rural area showed that, in addition to the above factors, gender and smoking were influencing factors for diabetes among urban residents, while sleep duration was the influencing factor for diabetes among rural residents (all P<0.05). Conclusions There are urban-rural differences in the prevalence of diabetes among residents in Hefei City, and the prevalence of diabetes is associated with age, educational level, occupation, body mass index and self-rated health status.

Background Peripheral refraction of retina brings about influence on myopia development,and different corrective methods will play different roles on the peripheral refraction.Objective This study was to measure the peripheral refraction with progressive addition lenses (PALs) and single-vision spectacle lenses (SVLs) corrected in adolescent myopic eyes and to investigate the difference between them.Methods This was a selfcontrolled cross-sectional study.Forty corrected myopic eyes with PALs were recruited for the study.Twenty-three male and seventeen female subjects aged 10-15 years (mean 12.54 years±1.45 years) enrolled in this study.The refractive errors of the subjects ranged form-1.50 D to-6.00 D (mean-3.74 D±1.09 D) and the astigmatism was less than-1.50 D with the corrected visual acuity at least 20/25.1％ Tropicamide eye drops was topically administered for the cycloplegia and then Grand Seiko WAM-5500 Auto-refractor was used to measure the peripheral refraction.The measured points were determined follows as:fovea (0°),peripheral temporal (T30°,T20°,T10°) and nasal (N30°,N20°,N10°) visual fields from the right eyes.The mean of the six measuring points for each position was calculated.Peripheral refraction was measured from each subject under the wearing of PALs or SVLs (randomly in succession),and the statistic analyse perimeters included M value,relative peripheral refractive error (RPRE),J45,J180.Written informed consent was obtained from each subject before examination.Results The corrected visual acuity was 4.98 ± 0.65 and 4.97 ± 0.53 under the PALs and SVLs conditions respectively,showing in significant difference between them (t =0.222,P =0.639).Hypermetropic shift in peripheral M value and RPRE value were found with the increase of visual angle field,in contrast,the peripheral J180 showed a myopic shift,and significant difference was found among the six peripheral points with all of the above three perimeters (P＜0.05).Negative J45 values in the temporal visual filed and positive J45 values in the nasal filed showed less shift.Some peripheral angles of the peripheral refractions in M value,RPRE value,J180,J45 showed significantly difference from the fovea refraction(P＜0.05).Compared with SVLs correction,PALs induced relatively myopic shifts in M value and RPRE value in all of the peripheral angle fields,showing significant differences(P＜0.05).Conclusions PALs causes relatively myopic shift at the peripheral retina in adolescent myopic eyes in comparison with SVLs,and the important parameters are M value and RPRE value.The effect of PALs on controlling the onset and progression of myopia may be interpreted by peripheral refraction.

AIM: To understand the epidemiology and related factors of strabismic amblyopia of students of primary school, and to provide guidances for the prevention and control strategy.
METHODS: A total of 600 cases of primary school students of Leshan City, Jiajiang County were given vision, oblique incidence and ocular and other screening. The prevalence rate of poor eyesight of strabismus, amblyopia prevalence rate of different sexes, ages were compared, and the degree of amblyopia and strabismus of children with different types of amblyopia and whether or not had stereoscopic vision were counted.
RESULTS: The prevalence rate of amblyopia and strabismus prevalence rate were respectively 4. 0% and 2.5%;With the growth of all age, low vision of students was significantly decreased, the difference of comparison of low vision rate of each age had statistical significance (P<0. 05), but different ages, strabismus prevalence of different sexes, amblyopia prevalence were compared, the difference had no significant differences ( P>0. 05 );Ametropic amblyopia was the main type, accounting for 55. 6%, and the degree of amblyopia mainly was light, moderate; ametropic amblyopia, most of ametropic amblyopia and strabismus had stereo vision, but there were no stereopsis of most of the strabismic amblyopia and all esotropia.
CONCLUSION:Ametropic is mainly type of amblyopia, the prevalence of relationship between the incidence of strabismic amblyopia of primary school students and sexes is not obvious, but the oblique amblyopia treatment effect, such as the establishment of stereoscopic vision and the age, eye position has a close relationship, should be early discovered, early treatment.

This study is to investigate the therapeutic effect and mechanism of indole-3-carbinol (I3C) on pig serum-induced liver fibrosis of rats. The liver fibrotic model of rats was induced by pig serum. After models were successfully established, rats in the treatment groups were administered with I3C through intraperitoneal injection or curcumin by intragastric administration, daily for 17 days. Hepatic hydroxyproline (Hyp) content was measured. The liver histology and immunohistochemistry with a-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) were assayed. Hepatic stellate cells line, HSC-T6 was incubated with different concentrations of I3C (25, 50, and 100 micromol x L(-1)) for 24 h. The effect of I3C on cell apoptosis was identified by FITC-Annexin V/PI double labeled assay. And the mRNA expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 were measured by real time RT-PCR. The results showed that hepatic content of Hyp decreased by I3C treatment, as compared with the fibrotic model control. Histopathological changes, such as steatosis, necrosis, deposition of collagenous fiber reduced remarkably and the expression of alpha-SMA was significantly down-regulated in the I3C-treated groups (P < 0.01). Apoptosis analysis showed that I3C significantly increased HSC-T6 apoptosis rate and the expressional ratio of Bax to Bcl-2. The results indicated that I3C could effectively cure pig serum-induced liver fibrosis in vivo by inducing HSC apoptosis and promoting ECM degradation.

BACKGROUND:Dragon’s blood is the main ingredient of traditional medicine prescription for promoting granulation, which has been used in clinical treatment of a variety of refractory wounds and achieved the exact effects. But the Dragon’s blood effect on colagen secretion from normal fibroblasts has not been reported. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Dragon’s blood extract on the proliferation and secret function of fibroblastsin vitro. METHODS: Dragon’s blood was extracted by extracts chloroform, acetoacetic ester, and alcohol in turn. Normal human fibroblasts were respectively cultured in Dragon’s blood extracts of chloroform, acetoacetic ester, and alcohol, DMEM containing 1% dimethyl sulfoxide, and normal culture medium. Then, the fibroblasts were cultured in vitro in different media containing gradient dilutions of Dragon’s blood extracts (0.002, 0.02, 0.2, 2, 20 g/L), which was folowed by cel proliferation determination assessed with MTT assay. Under the optimal concentration, the cel growth curves were drawn and the flow cytometry was used to determine the changes of cel cycle. The concentration of procolagen type III in the supernatant of the fibroblast culture systems was measured by radioimmunoassay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:0.2 g/L-2 g/L dilution of Dragon’s blood extracted by acetoacetic ester enhanced the proliferation of fibroblasts in a dose-dependent manner. The 2 g/L was the optimal dilution of Dragon’s blood extracted by acetoacetic ester, and it increased the ratio of S cels in cel cycle than control group and decreased procolagen type III. These findings indicate that Dragon’s blood acetoacetic ester extract can improve the proliferation of cultured human fibroblastsin vitro, and decrease the secretion of procolagen type III of fibroblasts, and it can be beneficial to improve wound healing and inhibit hypertrophic scar.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of physcione on acute liver injury in rats.Methods Acute liver injury rat model was constructed with 2ml/kg CCl_4((?)3 d)via intragastric administration.The serum concentrations of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)in different groups were detected.Hepatic histopathology of different groups was also observed to reflect the effect of physcione.Results The serum concentrations of ALT,AST and TNF in physcione group were significantly lower than those of model group(P

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical distribution and resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii.METHODS The bacteria were identified by BioMerieux VITEK32.Susceptibility was tested by Kirby-Bauer method.RESULTS Among specimens from which A.baumannii was examined,sputum accounted for 78.64%,secretion(9.62%)and urine(6.81%).A.baumannii was mainly distributed at ICU ward(29.58%)and then was respiratory ward(21.36%).The resistance of A.baumannii was serious.The antibiotic drugs which had the low resistance were ?-lactam/?-lactamase inhibitor combinations such as sulperazone(22.14%)and carbapenems such as meropenem(32.95%),imipenem(33.04%),and so on.CONCLUSIONS The infecton of multi-drug resistant A.baumannii has increasing tendency.Therefore monitoring A.baumannii constantly and regularly,finding out resistant strains timely and adjusting the treatment methods are very important for the prevention of nosocomial infection.
