1.Composition, function in PI3K/Akt and PTEN, and the relationship with developing brain after hypoxiaischemia
International Journal of Pediatrics 2012;39(1):20-22
P13K/Akt signaling pathway is an classic anti-apoptotic,urge-survival signal transduction pathway. It plays important regulation and control roles in neurons apoptosis.PTEN ( phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10) is a highly conservative tumor suppressor gene with a dual-specificity phosphatase activity.PTEN protein can specifically dephosphorylats the 3 position of phosphoinositides, antagonize the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway,as negativity regulation and control roles to cell survival and growth. This review summarizes the progresses of the composition, function in PI3 K/Akt and PTEN,and the relationship with developing brain after hypoxia-ischemia.
2.Regulation of non-immunomodulatory interaction between pertussis toxin and host cells
International Journal of Pediatrics 2021;48(5):331-334
Pertussis toxin(PTx), an important toxin that produced by Bordetella pertussis, is an important pathogenic factor in the pathogenesis of whooping cough. The previous studies have showed that PTx interacting proteins vary distinctly in size, ranging from the 43 kD surface protein of human lymphocyte to the 200 kD surface protein of insulin secreting cells.PTx has been shown to interact with N-linked oligosaccharides on the surface of host cells, sialoglycoprotein-like factors, glycoproteins such as haptoglobin, fetuin, G D1a glycolipids.Especially, the interaction of PTx with its receptor Gi protein can result in increased intracellular cAMP level, which will lead to multiple physiological responses. However, the current limited understanding of other PTx modified substrates and interacting proteins in cells has seriously hindered our understanding on the mechanism that PTx regulates other signaling pathways and physiological functions of the host.
3.Perioperative biochemical markers and early postoperative mortality in senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2016;18(4):301-305
Objective To investigate the associations between levels of perioperative biochemical markers of the liver, kidney, lung and heart and death within 3 months postoperatively in the senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the 153 senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture who had been treated at Nanfang Hospital from January 2010 to January 2012.They were 71 men and 82 women, with an average age of 83.1 years. There were 70 stable and 83 unstable fractures. At preoperation (within 24 h after admission),and 24 h,25 to 48 h and 72 h postoperation, all the patients had blood examinations of biochemical markers of the liver [alanine aminotransaminase (ALT)],kidney (creatinine and urea nitrogen),lung (PaO2) and heart [brain natriuretic peptide (BNP)].The levels of biochemical markers at all time points and clinical data were compared between the living patients and those who died within 3 months postoperatively.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to estimate the independent risk factors for mortality within 3 months postoperatively. Results Of the 153 patients,32 (20.9%) died within 3 months postoperatively, including 10 men and 22 women. In the dead and surviving patients, there were respectively 25 and 17 cases who were rated as level Ⅲ or Ⅳ by ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists). The levels of ALT,creatinine, urea nitrogen, and BNP increased to different extents while the level of PaO2 decreased postoperatively in both the dead and surviving patients. The differences between the dead and surviving patients were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed poor preoperative physical condition (ASA level Ⅲ or Ⅳ),increased creatinine level at 25 to 48 h postoperation, decreased PaO2 at 72 h postoperation, and increased BNP level at 24 h postoperation were independent risk factors for early mortality in senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture. Conclusions Femoral intertrochanteric fracture in senile patients may lead to changes in the liver, kidney, lung and heart.Prompt and dynamic monitoring of the levels of PaO2,creatinine and BNP may provide timely prediction of the poor prognosis.
4.CT Diagnosis of Retroperitoneal Fibrosis (8 cases report)
Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2006;0(04):-
[Objective] To evaluate and describe CT findings in patients with pathologically confirmed retroperitoneal fibrosis. [Methods] CT findings in 8 patients (6 males, 2 females) pathologically confirmed retroperitoneal fibrosis were retrospectively reviewed and pertinent literature was discussed. [Results] Retroperitoneal fibrosis showed similar features in CT imaging: retroperitoneal irregular mass around abdominal aorta embedding adjacent tissue, with mild or moderate enhancement, unilateral or bibateral ureterectasis with hydronephrosis. [Conclusions] The pristine clinical manifestation of retroperitoneal fibrosis is occult and nonspecific. CT examination is a valuable approach to diagnose retroperitoneal fibrosis.

8.Efficacy of limbal stem cell transplantation combined with mitomycin C in pterygium patients with T2 DM
International Eye Science 2015;(1):167-169
Abstract?AlM:To investigate effect and safety of the limbal stem cell transplantation combined with low concentrations of mitomycin C for pterygium patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).? METHODS: Eighty patients of 96 pterygium eyes admitted to hospital were divided into groups of high concentration, low concentration group and the control group, and 3 groups were given pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation. The high concentration group, the low concentration groups were given prior to stem cell transplantation 0. 2, 0. 1mg/mL mitomycin C coverage. The cure rate and recurrence rate in three groups of patients, as well as visual acuity before and after treatment were compared.?RESULTS: Three groups patients' visual acuity were significantly improved after treatment (P<0. 05), there was no significant difference before treatment in visual acuity (P>0. 05);epithelial healing time of high concentration group was significantly higher than low concentration group and the control group (P<0. 05), there was no significant difference between low concentration and control groups of epithelial healing time (P>0. 05); cure rates of low concentration group was higher than high dose group, the recurrence rate in low concentration group was lower than the high dose group.? CONCLUSlON: Pterygium excision combined with limbal stem cell transplantation has significant efficacy for pterygium, and mitomycin C can effectively reduce the relapse rate, but for the patients with T2DM concentration of mitomycin C should be reduced.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2010;12(5):619-621
Objective To investigate the temperament of children with epilepsy and the effects of various epilepsy-related variables on it. Methods The temperament of 60 pairs of epilepsy and normal children were assessed by temperament scale. The results of the two groups were compared. Epilepsy-related variables were analyzed. Result The scores of all dimensional variables in the epilepsy group were higher than that in normal group. The differences in adaptability and intensity of response between the two groups was statistically significant ( P <0. 05), and the differences in rhythmicity, approach-withdrawal toward new situations, emotional nature and persistence were more notable ( P <0.01). The temperament of epilepsy children was incline to difficult temperament( X2 = 10. 91, P <0.01). Age at onset of epilepsy, main caregiver and maternal education level had impaction on the temperament of epilepsy children..Conclusions The temperaments of epilepsy children tend to be negative. Children's temperaments are inclined to easy when their mothers are well educated and their main caregivers are parents, while they tend to be difficult temperament when the age of onset is early.
