Objective To find an optimum fixed position on the wire linked to floating mass transducer(FMT)by measuring FMT vibration with laser doppler vibrometer(LDV).Methods Fixing three points on the wire linked with FMT:10 mm,5 mm away from the FMT and the end of the wire. The vibration intensity of the FMT was measured with LDV when the FMT received continuous pure-tone stimuli at 100 and 80 dB SPL,respectively. Results The vibration amplitude of FMT was the highest at 1.5 and 2 kHz,and the lowest at 0.25 and 8 kHz when the FMT received pure-tone stimuli from 0.25 to 8 kHz.When the wire was fixed at/above different points, the FMT produced similar positive vibration amplitude. Conclusion The wire is fixed linked with FMT at/above three different points,FMT produces similar vibration amplitude when receiving pure tone stimuli.

Bio-marker Pattern Software (BPS) was used to detect the protein peaks. Results Sixteen significantly different pro-tein peaks were found in serum samples in NSCLC patients and healthy controls. Eight up-regulated protein peaks and eight down-regulated protein peaks ( P < 0. 001 ) were identified in serum samples of NSCLC patients. Three up-regulated protein peaks(P <0. 05) were identified in serum samples of patients of NSCLC with smoking history. Two up-regulated protein peaks(P <0. 01) were identified in serum samples of patients of squamous carcinoma comparing with adenocarcinoma. No significantly different protein peak was found in serum samples of NSCLC patients at different clinical stages . Conclusion SELDI - TOF - MS technology can identify different protein peaks and so function as a diagnostic tool with high sensitivity and specificity.

Objective To find out the status of HIV infection, sexual behaviors with both men and women as well as condom use among currently married men who have sex with men (MSM) so as to document for HIV intervention targeting this sub-population,in Beijing,Chengdu,Harbin and Zhengzhou cities. Methods “Snowballing” sampling method was used to recruit subjects in four cities.Participants were investigated by anonymous questionnaire containing demographics, sexual orientation, both homosexual and heterosexual behaviors and condom use during the past 6 months.Blood samples from participants were used to test HIV antibodies. Results Of the 858 participants for four cities, the average age was 38.3 (SD=9.1) years.36.7% of them had completed the junior high school or under. The percentage of participants who identified themselves as homosexual, bisexual, and heterosexual or undecided were 40.9%,54.3% and 4.8%,respectively.The overall HIV prevalence was 8.0%,and among four cities the HIV prevalence in Chengdu was the highest ( 13.3% ).Results from the Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that never used condoms when having anal sex with men during the past 6 months among participants who did not have a city residential card, identifying himself as having homosexual orientation, living in Harbin, having first anal sex experience before 18 years of age the range of OR value was 1.5-2.1.In addition, the faetors associated with never using condoms in vaginal sex with women during the past 6 months were as follows:being over 46 years old,not having a city residential card, living in Beijing, identifying himself as heterosexual orientated or with unknown sexual orientation, never using condoms in anal sex with men during the past 6 months, the range of OR value was 1.7-5.9.Conclusion The prevalence of HIV infection seemed to be quite high among those currently married MSM.High rates of unprotected homosexual and heterosexual behaviors might accelerate the spreading of HIV from currently married MSM to their wives.

This study was aimed to investigate the gene expression profile of TGF-beta signal transduction pathway in B-cell type acute lymphocytic leukemia (B-ALL). The gene expression profiles in B-ALL primary cells and cell lines (NALM6 cells, Raji cells), B-lymphocyte of control were detected by cDNA microarray including 113 different genes in human TGF-beta/BMP signal transduction pathway, and TGF-beta(1) mRNA expression was detected by real time RT-PCR. The B lymphocytes in peripheral blood of heacthy persons sorted by flow cytometry were used as control. The difference between them was compared. The results showed that as compared with B lymphocytes in peripheral blood of heacthy persons, the TGF-beta(1) expression in B-ALL cells, NALM6 cells and Raji cells were down-regulationed, myc and smad1 gene expressions were up-regulated, IL-6, smad 7 gene expressions were down-regulated. It is concluded that TGF-beta signal transduction is abnormal in B-cell type acute lymphocytic leukemia.

OBJECTIVETo study the quality difference among Citrus grandis 'Tomentosas' of different cultivars, in order to provide scientific basis for seeking for fine breeds.
METHODThe HPLC fingerprints were established for C. grandis 'Tomentosa' of different cultivars in the GAP base of Huazhou Green Life Co., Ltd. The software of similarity evaluation system of traditional Chinese medicine HPLC fingerprints 2004A edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission was adopted for the similarity analysis and judgment of cultivars.
RESULTThe fingerprints showed similar general characteristics of samples of different cultivars. Specifically, the similarity of areas of the 18 common peaks ranged between 0.938-0.998. The success rate of judging cultivars using similarity software stood at 92%.
CONCLUSIONThis method can be applied to better identify quality and source of cultivars of C. grandis 'Tomentosa', and provide technical measures and scientific basis for seeking for fine breeds of Citri Grandis Exocarpium.

Chinese Medical Journal 2011;124(24):4368-4371
Blastomycosis is a fungal disease that is endemic in parts of North America. It is very rare in China and also commonly misdiagnosed, often as cancer or other infectious diseases. The clinical profile of a case of disseminated blastomycosis with pulmonary changes and skin ulcers was described. He had been misdiagnosed with tuberculosis, after adequate therapy with a lipid formulation of amphotericin B, followed by itraconazole, the lung and skin lesions improved. Then the five cases reported in China and literatures were reviewed. The aim of this report was to improve the knowledge regarding blastomycosis for physicians in China to avoid delaying adequate therapy.

Objective: By observing the body surface temperature changes of different meridian acupoints located at the same or adjacent spinal segments of the uterus during the whole storing and releasing process of the uterus under normal physiological condition by the infrared thermal imaging technology, to explore the specific patterns that the functions of Zang-fu organs are reflected on the biophysical characteristics of acupoints, and to enrich the functional specificity theory of the meridian acupoints, thus to provide a reference for discussing the biophysical characteristics of meridian acupoints associated with the menstrual cycle in healthy female college students. Methods: Ninety healthy subjects were included. Infrared thermal imaging device was used to detect the body surface temperature of the Yuan-Primary points, the Xi-Cleft points, the crossing points, the non-specific points, the unrelated meridian acupoints and the non-meridian non-acupoint points of the three yin meridians of foot located at the same or adjacent spinal cord segment with uterus, during the menstrual phase, the follicular phase, the ovulation phase and the luteal phase. The absolute skin temperature difference between the left and right acupoints with the same name was used as the main outcome indicator. Results: The temperature difference between left and right Diji (SP 8, the Xi-Cleft point of the Spleen Meridian) during the ovulation phase was significantly higher than that during the other 3 phases (all P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the temperature difference between the other meridian acupoints and non-meridian non-acupoint points during the 4 phases (all P>0.05); the absolute temperature difference value of each meridian acupoint was not statistically different from each other in the same phase (all P>0.05). Conclusion: The temperature of Diji (SP 8) specifically reflected the onset of ovulation, and the thermal characteristics of Diji (SP 8) specifically reflected the physiological changes of uterus. The meridian acupoints reflecting the performance of Zang-fu function is not only associated with the spinal cord segment innervating the acupoints, but also associated with the characteristics of the acupoints and the meridians to which the acupoints belong.
