3.The synthesis and metabolism of neurosteroids and the effects on the nervous system

Neurosteroids exist in central and peripheral nervous system, independence of peripheral glands, including pregnenolone, progesterone, allopregnanolone, and dehydroepiandrosterone, etc. They can be synthesized in the nervous system from sterol or sterol precursors catalyzed by certain enzymes. They play roles by interacting with GABAA, NMDA or?receptors, and have effects on memory, sleep, convulsion, cellular excitability, etc.
4.Investigation of status quo of self-perceived burden of young and middle-aged patients with first-attack of ischemic stroke and analysis of its influencing factors

Objective To know the self-perceived burden (SPB) of young and middle-aged patients with first-attack of ischemic stroke and to analyze the influential factors of SPB as well as its relevance to the quality of life.Methods The patients' general information questionnaire,SPB Self-evaluation Scale,QOL-BREF were adopted to investigate young and middle-aged patients with first-attack of ischemic stroke.Results 100 patients were included,66 were male,34 were female.The Minimum age was 19.4 years old.The maximum age was 59 years old.The mean age was (50.80 ± 7.98) years old.The average SPB score was (24.21 ± 7.39) points,which was in the medium level.31 cases (31%) didn't have obvious SPB; 65 cases (65%) suffered mild-to-moderate SPB; 4 cases (4%) claimed they had severe SPB.There was negative correlation between the SPB and their quality of life.The multi-factor analysis showed that gender,the patients' understanding of disease,and caregivers' health situation were the influential factors of SPB.Conclusions Since self-perceived burden is common in young and middle-aged patients with ischemic stroke,clinical nurses should assess patients' self-perceived burden so as to provide targeted nursing intervention and health education,thereby to ease the burden on patients' self feeling,eventually to improve the level of their mental and physical health.
5.Role of PI3K/Akt Pathway in MMC Induced Apoptosis of Liver Stem Cells

Objective To investigate the role of PI3K/Akt pathway in mitomycin(MMC) induced apoptosis of liver stem cells.Methods Rat liver stem ceils were stimulated with MMC,and the effect of MMC on the apoptosis rate of WB-F334 cells at different time points(6,12,24 h),as well as the effects of different concentrations of (0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8,1.0 mg/mL) MMC on the cytotoxicity of WB-F334 cells were evaluated;moreover,cells were treated with p38 MAPK inhibitor and PI3K/Akt inhibitor,and the roles of MAPK and PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in MMC mediated apoptosis of WB-F334 cells were explored.Results The apoptosis rate of the MMC-treated WB-F334 increased with time(P<0.05).Compared with the un-treated control group,different concentrations of MMC had obvious cytotoxicity on liver stem cells,and the cytotoxicity increased with concentration.Western blotting results showed that Akt and MAPK in WB-F334 cells were significantly phosphorylated 15 min after MMC stimulation;the degree of phosphorylation decreased with time,and phosphorylation disappeared after 60 min,suggesting that the p38 MAPK,PI3K/Akt pathway can be activated by MMC;furthermore,when p38 MAPK inhibitor was added to MMC treated cells,the apoptosis rate of p38 MAPK inhibitor treated cells showed no significant difference compared to the un-treated cells(P>0.05),indicating that the MAPK pathway had no significant effect on MMC induced WP,-F334 cell death;however,when the PI3K/Akt inhibitor(API-2)was added,the apoptosis rate of API-2 treated cells was significantlv decreased compared to the un-treated cells(P<0.05),indicating that the PI3K/Akt pathway had a significant effect on MMC induced apoptosis of WB-F334 cells(P<0.05).Conclusion Stimulation of MMC can induce apoptosis of hepatic stem cells WB-F334 through the activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
7.Research on composition rules of prescriptions dealing with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and blood from National Standard for Chinese Patent Drugs.

Based on the software of Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System (TCMISS), the article made analysis on the composition rules of prescriptions dealing with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and blood from National Standard for Chinese Patent Drugs (NSCPD) enacted by Ministry of Public Health of China. First, prescriptions were collected from NSCPD. Second, used integrated data mining methods in TCMISS, including association rules, improved mutual information method, et al. to analyze the medication rules. At last, irregular menstruation, insomnia, consumptive diseases with the same syndrome of deficiency of both qi and blood, were chosen to make comparative analysis on frequency of medicines used, core drug combinations, et al. to better find the similarities and differences of medications rules when confronted with the same syndrome while different diseases. And the similar core drug combinations directly reflected the characters of clinical practices of traditional Chinese medicine, which emphasizes on the treatment based on the syndromes of differentiation, and treating different diseases with the same methods.
