Objective To investigate the clinical and imaging features of cerebral cortical vein thrombosis (CoVT). Methods The clinical data of 13 inpatients with CoVT were enroled from September 2010 to September 2015. The etiology, clinical symptoms, imaging features, and differential diagnosis of CoVT w ere summarized and analyzed. Results Among the patients, there w ere 7 females (53.85%) and 6 males (46.15%). Their age ranged from 18 to 59 years (mean 34.23 ±12.08). The most common clinical manifestations were headache (9 patients) and seizures (9 patients). The 13 patients had cerebral parenchymal involvement and they al received anticoagulant therapy. Conclusions The clinical symptoms of CoVT are various. Seizures and headache are the most common symptoms. Most of patients are accompanied by brain parenchymal lesions and venous sinus thrombosis. When patients have headache and seizures, and head images suggest hemorrhagic infarction, imaging examination of the improvement of the cerebral venous system thrombosis is recommended.

BACKGROUND: The main aspect of the study in the bone histological engineering is how to maintain and improve theosteogenesis of the osteoblasts in vivo and in vitro. The gene transference may provide a new effective method to deal with theproblem.OBJECTIVE: To discuss the effect of the reverse transcription virus mediated human bone morphogenetic protein7(hBMP-7) gene transfection on the proliferation and osteogenetic differentiation of the bone marrow mesenehymal stemcells (BMSCs) of the rabbits.DESIGN:Cells taken as the study object, grouping control, repeat observation andmeasurement.SETTING: Traumatological and othopaedic lab of a medical university hospital.PARTICIPANTS: The study wascompleted in the Traumatological and Othopaedic Lab in the Affiliated Nanfang Hospital of the Southern Medical University from July 2001 to July 2003. Four New Zealand rabbits, whose weights varied from 1.0 to 1.5 kg, were provided without sexlimit by the Animal Experiment Center of the First Military Medical University of Chinese PLA.METHODS:The reverse transcription virus carriersof the hBMP-7 were constructed, and then the BMSCs were transfected by the virus containing target genes. The expression of the hBMP-7 protein was detected with the immunohistochemical method. The cell proliferation, cycle and ALP synthesis were respectively detected with the MTT method, flow cytometer and NPP method.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Primary results: ① the detection results of the cell proliferation. ② the detection results of the ALP.Secondary results: ① the expression of the hBMP-7 protein in the transfected BMSCs. ② the detection results of the cell cycle.RESULTS: After the BMP-7 gene transfection, there was hBMP-7 positive expression in the BMSCs of the rabbits, using the immunohistochemical detection. There was no significant change in the BMSCs proliferation of the rabbits after the hBMP-7 gene transfection ( P > 0.05). Compared with the ALP synthesis of the transfected BMSCs(294. 592 ± 86. 567) nkat/L, there was significant difference in the ALP synthesis of the empty carrier transfected BMSCs(155. 231 ±86.567) nkat/L and the un-transfected BMSCs (160. 866 ±91. 585)nkat/L( F =5. 660, P < 0. 05).CONCLUSION: After the BMP-7 gene transfection, the BMSCs can synthesize and express the extragenous BMP-7. The hBMP gene transfection can promote the differentiation of the BMSCs cultured in vitro into the osteoblasts and can be used as the seed cells in the construction of the histological en gineering bone tissues and in further application.

BACKGROUND: Prevention of implant from inflammation was an effective method to reduce expulsion rate of stainless steel micro-screw implant, and develop new type of antibiotic material.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the cytotoxicity of a new type of antibiotic stainless steels.METHODS: Metal test samples (antibiotic stainless steel, medical stainless steel, and medial pure titanium) were made into rectangular solids with length of 15 mm × 10 mm × 3 mm. Samples were cleaned with high temperature and high pressure. Alloy leaching liquor was prepared with DMEM culture media according to the ratio betwean surface area and volume of culture solution (3 cm~2/mL). The leaching liquor was maintained in incubator at 37 ℃ for 96 hours, and then degerming was performed using microporous membrane. 6.4% phenol was added, which was considered as the positive control group, and DMEM culture media was considered as the blank control group. Growth of MG63 cells was observed under inverted phase contrast microscope;absorbanca of cells cultured for 24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 hours was detected using MTT test; cytotoxicity of antibiotic stainless steels was evaluated.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: ① At 24 hours after culture, calls in the positive control group was abnormal; while, cells in other groups were well adherent-grew. ② After 48 hours of culture, with the culture time increased, cytotoxicity was detected out in the positive control group; cells in other groups and blank control groups were normal and grew well. Afew of cells in stainless steels group showed karyopyknosis. ③ The absorbance was the highest of medical pure titanium, and then of antibiotic stainless steel and of medical stainless steel, while there was no significant difference between the three materials. ④ The level of cytotoxicity was grade 0. The results suggested that the antibiotic stainless steel which had the same cytotoxicity grade as medical stainless steel and pure titanium was in line with the requirement of its clinical application.
