Objective To evaluate the factors influencing the reproducibility and validity of food group intakes measured by a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) for Chinese men. Methods A total of 214 adult men were randomly selected from the Shanghai Men Health Study (SMHS), an ongoing cohort study conducted in urban Shanghai. Each subject who had completed the first FFQ survey at recruitment took 24-hour dietary recall (24-HDR) surveys which were conducted once a month for 12 consecutive months and a second FFQ at the end of the study. Two FFQs were administered approximately 1.2 years apart. The food items listed in FFQ and obtained from 24-HDR were categorized into 11 food groups. The factors influencing the reproducibility of the FFQ was assessed by comparing the Pearson correlation of intake levels from the two FFQs, while the factors influencing the validity was evaluated by comparing intake levels from the second FFQ with the multiple 24-HDRs. Results A total of 195 men completed all 12 times of 24-HDR and twice FFQ surveys. The median Pearson correlation coefficients of the food groups between the two FFQs in older vs younger age group were 0.62 vs 0.50;in higher vs lower education level group were 0.58 vs 0.50;in higher vs lower income group were 0.51 vs 0.50;in higher vs lower BMI group were 0.50 vs 0.49. The median Pearson correlation coefficients of the food groups between the second FFQ and 24-HDRs in older vs younger age group were 0.61 vs 0.45;in higher vs lower education level group were 0.49 vs 0.47;in higher vs lower income group were 0.43 vs 0.57;in higher vs lower BMI group were 0.48 vs 0.51. Conclusions Age is the main factor influencing the reproducibility of the food group intakes by a FFQ used in the SMHS, while the factors influencing the validity are age and family income.

Objective To establish the population pharmacokinetics(PPK)model of Lamotrigine(LTG)in children with epilepsy in China for promoting individualized dosage regimen. Methods The sparse data of LTG serum concentrations from 60 pediatric patients with epilepsy were collected. One hundred and fourteen serum concentration points were divided into LTG+valproic acid (VPA) group(n=56),LTG+enzymatic inducer(E1)group(n=26),LTG+EI+VPA group(n=16)and single LTG group(n=16).The serum drug concentrations were the clinical routinely tested steadv state concentrations. The LTG PPK parameters were calculated using the non-parametric expectation maximization(NPEM) Program of USC*PACK software, and then a PPK model was established. Based on this model,LTG serum concentrations were predicted with Bayesian fitting program of USC*PACK software.Mean prediction error(MPE)and mean squared prediction error(MSPE) were calculated to evaluate the accuracy and precision of the concentration prediction and to valid the PPK model. Results The greatest likelihood was-192.87.Optimum PPK parameters were:Ka=(1.97 1.66)h~(-1);Vs=(1.07±0.89)L/kg;Kel=(0.05±0.05)h~(-1).The linear regression function Y_(OBS)=-0.09+1.05 Y_(PRED)(R~2=0.98,P<0.001),and determination of coefficient was 0.98.MPE was-0.16 g/mL,and MSPE was 0.28(μg/mL)~2.Conclusion A PPK model of LTG in children with epilepsy in China can be successfully established using the USC*PACK software, based on which LTG serum concentrations can be predicted accurately with a Bayesian approach.

Objective To explore the effect of human leukocyte antigen B* genotype and age on serum homocysteine (Hcy) levels in children with seizures or epilepsy. Methods Fifteen children with seizures or epilepsy in whom HLA-B*15:02 genotype was detected during October 2015 to June 2016 were included. The plasma Hcy concentration in children with different genotypes was compared. The association of Hcy concentration and age was performed by linear-regression analysis. Results The mean concentration of Hcy was 8.38±4.23 μmol/L in children not carrying HLA-B*15:02 gene, which was obviously higher than that in children carrying HLA-B*15:02 gene 13.03±0.97 μmol/L (P<0.05). The Hcy concentration increased with the age (r2 =0.29, P<0.05). Conclusions Elder children with seizures or epilepsy carrying HLA-B*15:02 gene tend to have higher Hcy concentration and increased potential risk of disease. HLA-B*15:02 gene type and age can predict the changes of Hcy concentration in children with convulsions.

Objective:
To investigate the combined impact of lifestyle factors on stomach cancer risk.
Methods:
We analyzed the data from the Shanghai Men's Health Study (SMHS) (2002-2013). The SMHS was conducted in eight neighborhood communities of urban Shanghai. From 2002 through June 2006, 61 480 residents aged 40 to 74 years old with no history of cancer were recruited. Failure time was the date of stomach cancer incidence, death or date of the last follow-up (December 31, 2013). The first two in-person follow-up surveys were conducted in 2004-2008, and 2008-2011, respectively. Using data on lifestyle, the healthy lifestyle index (HLI) was developed. The following lifestyle factors were included: smoking, alcohol consumption, diet habit, overweighted and physical activity. Cox proportional hazard models were used to evaluate the association of stomach cancer risk with lifestyle factors and HLI.
Results:
Over 9.28 years' follow-up, 477 incident cases of stomach cancer were identified from 59 503 study participants. Participants with zero, one, two, three, four, and five favorable lifestyle behaviors accounted for 3.44% (

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2022;24(3):238-246
Objective:To revise the 2017 classification of irreducible intertrochanteric fractures and summarize reduction techniques of 2021 classification. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted of the 17 patients with irreducible intertrochanteric fracture who had been treated at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, The Ninth People's Hospital of Shanghai, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine from January 2015 to December 2019. They were 7 males and 10 females, with an age of (73.2 ± 16.1) years. On the basis of 2017 classification, the irreducible intertrochanteric fractures were classified into 2 types in the present 2021 classification. Type Ⅰ were interlocking fractures which were further classified into 3 subtypes: type ⅠA were sagittal interlocking ones (7 cases), type ⅠB greater trochanter interlocking ones (one case) and type ⅠC lesser trochanter interlocking ones (one case). Type Ⅱ were separating fractures which were further classified into 4 subtypes: type ⅡA were sagittal separating ones (4 cases), type ⅡB coronal separating ones (one case), type ⅡC rotational separating ones(one case) and type ⅡD complete separating ones (2 cases). All patients were treated by closed reduction and intramedullary nailing with different reduction strategies corresponding to their fracture types (application of ejector rods, clamps or prying techniques, etc.). A total of 132 patients with reducible femoral intertrochanteric fracture who had been admitted during the same period were selected as the control group. The fracture reduction time, intraoperative blood loss and Harris hip score at the last follow-up were compared between the 2 groups. Results:The 2 groups were comparable because there was no significant difference in their preoperative general data ( P>0.05). Type ⅠA accounted for the highest proportion of irreducible intertrochanteric fractures [41.3% (7/17)], followed by type ⅡA [23.6% (4/17)]. The fracture reduction time [(44.6 ± 6.7) min] in the irreducible group was significantly longer than that in the control group [(39.2 ± 9.6) min] ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in intraoperative blood loss or Harris hip score at the last follow-up between the 2 groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Compared with the "2017 classification" , the "2021 classification" is more concise and easy to remember, and can directly prompt the corresponding proper fracture reduction techniques. The patients with irreducible intertrochanteric fracture using proper reduction techniques can obtain functional recovery similar to that in the patients with reducible intertrochanteric fracture after reduction and fixation.
