1.Nose xuanfu theory
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(03):-
On the basis of the origin, development and modern research of xuanfu theory,a new view of nose xuanfu theory is put forward,in wich, the mechanism of chronic sinusitis is blodkade of two orrifices and interties of two toxins.Additionally,on the basis of inducing resuscitation and opening xuanfu,a new treatment principle of dredging sinus orrifi ces, opening xuanfu, removing two toxins and strengthening vital qi are put forward, too. From modern medical point, nose xuanfu is corresponding to intercellular space of nasal mucous membrane, all kinds of ion channels and nasal tissue microcirculation.Nose xuanfu is qi-fluid circulation channel in internal and external environmental material information communication of nasal tissue.Nose xuanfu normal opening-and-closing function keeps normal physiological function of nasal cavity.Nose xuanfu theory provides one new way in rhinology with TCM.

Objective To study the effect of Wulong granules on the expression of IL-2 mRNA,IL-4 mRNA and IL-6 mRNA in allergic rhinitis(AR) rats in Spleen Qi deficiency type. To establish the clinic treatment principle-tonify Spleen and reinforce Qi of AR through the lab study. Methods Established AR model with combination of disease and Zheng, checked the expression of IL-2 mRNA,IL-4 mRNA and IL-6 mRNA of nasal mucosa were detected with RT-PCR. Results Wulong granules can adjust the expression of mRNA of AR rats' nasal mucosa. It can descend the ascensus of IL-4 mRNA,IL-6 mRNA and the drop of IL-2 mRNA. Conclusion Wulonggranules can show treatment effect to AR rats through adjusting the expression of cell factors such as IL-2 mRNA,IL-4 mRNA and IL-6 mRNA.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of Bidouyan Oral Liquid(BOL) on acute suppurative max-illary sinusitis(ARMS) in rabbits. Methods Modified Hinni's method was used to inducing the ARMS rabbit models. The high and low-dosage of BOL was administered by gastric gavage and penicillin V was used for the positive medicine. The white blood cells(WBC)count, neutrophil percentage, serum C-reactive protein(CRP)level, inflammatory changes of mucosa of nasal sinuses under light microscope and bacteria culture of secretion in ARMS rabbit models were observed. Results Inflammatory changes were shown in the experimental ARMS rabbits as follows:white blood cells count and neutrophil percentage increased, mucosa of nasal sinuses congested and swollen with the exfoliation of pili. After the treatment with high-and low-dosage of BOL,the above parameters in the rabbits recovered to normal, the difference being insignificant compared with penicillin V.Conclusion BOL in clinical dose can control the general and local inflammatory reaction in ARMS rabbits.
4.Effect of intervention of granules of eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis in cochlear morphology of diabetic rats.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2011;36(2):209-215
OBJECTIVETo study the effectiveness of the granules of eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis (GEPRB) on glucose metabolism for diabetic rats induced by streptozotocin and that on early diabetic rats cochlear histopathology.
METHODIntraperitoneally inject streptozotocin disposable of dose of 55 mg x kg(-1), so that a model of diabetic rats is created, and treated by, and simultaneously treated by Duxil as matched groups for positive, then observe the blood glucose of each group, the histopathology of cochlear, and any circumstantial change of their microstructures.
RESULTGEPRB can reduce the cumulating thickness of the basilar membrane and that of the vascular pattern, so as to tighten up the sparsity of the spiral ganglion cells.
CONCLUSIONGEPRB is rather effective on hypoglycemic for the diabetic rat model, and therapeutic goal can be achieved by improving the pathological changes of the cochlea damaged. The improvement by GEPRB for microangiopathic change of the cochlea capillary is probably the pathological basis of relieving hearing loss.
