OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of Kangfuxin liquid combined with Oral ulcer powder on inflammatory cyto-kines and therapeutic efficacy of recurrent aphthous ulcer. METHODS:134 patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 67 cases in each group. Both groups received routine treatment;control group was additionally given Oral ulcer powder,q2 h;observation group was additionally given Kangfuxin liquid,10 ml/time,gar-gling for 5-10 min and then swallowing slowly,tid. Treatment course of 2 groups lasted for 7 d. Clinical symptoms,serum inflam-matory cytokines,clinical symptom improvement and recurrence were observed in 2 groups. RESULTS:Total effective rate of ob-servation group was 95.52%,which was significantly higher than that of control group(82.09%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). The levels of TNF-α,IL-1 and IL-6 in observation group were significantly lower than those of control group,with statisti-cal significance(P<0.05);ulcer duration and VAS score of observation group were significantly shorter or lower than those of con-trol group,with statistical significance(P<0.05);after followed up for 6 months,recurrence rate of observation group(11.94%) was significantly lower than that of control group(31.34%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Kangfuxin liquid combined with Oral ulcer powder helps to lower levels of inflammatory cytokines of patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer, relieve the clinical symptoms,then improve therapeutic efficacy and reduce recurrence rate.

Idiosyncratic adverse drug reactions (IDR) induce severe medical complications or even death in patients. Alert structure in drugs can be metabolized as reactive metabolite (RM) in the bodies, which is one of the major factors to induce IDR. Structure modification and avoidance of alert structure in the drug candidates is an efficient method for reducing toxicity risks in drug design. This review briefly summarized the recent development of the methodologies for structure optimization strategy to reduce the toxicity risks of drug candidates. These methods include blocking metabolic site, altering metabolic pathway, reducing activity, bioisosterism, and prodrug.

Objective To explore the value of combining Uniplate anterior cervical plate system with titanium cage to treat single level cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Method Observing the clinical outcome and X-ray results of 32 patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy undergone anterior decompression, autograft fusion and internal fixation with Uniplate anterior cervical plate system and titanium cage. Results All patients were followed up for 3 to 12 months. According to bony fusion criteria,no implants breakage, dislocation or loosening was found in all cases in 3 months' postoperatively radiological review. According to Odom classification,excellent outcome was 27 patients, good was 5 patients, the excellent and good rate was 100%(32/32). Conclusions Combining Uniplate anterior cervical plate system with titanium cage to treat single level cervical spondylotic myelopathy has advantages of easy manipulation,safe, less complication and higher fusion rate. It is an ideal way for cervical anterior fixation.

Objective The beam data is compared with those obtained from Monte Carlo (MC)simulation and measurement to investigate their feasibility and reliability for X-ray small fields.MethodsThe beam data,including the total scatter factor (Scp),percentage depth dose (PDD) was acquired byneasurement and calculation with the field size ranging from 0.5 cm × 0.5 cm to 10 cm x 10 cm.The resultswere compared and analyzed.Results All the data is most consistent for the fields size of ≥3.5 cmx 3.5cm,but they are obvious different for the fields size of ≤ 3.0 cm × 3.0 cm.The measurements seem toreliable using the chambers of CC04 and CC13 for the fields size of ≥2.0 cm x 2.0 cm.Conclusions It isdemonstrated that the accurate measurements and calculations of Scp and PDD can be obtained for the fieldssize of ≥2.0 cm ×2.0 cm,but they needed morc rcscarchcs for thc smaller fields.

The mechanism mainly lies in its functions of inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, inducing tumor cell apoptosis, repressing tumor angiogenesis, and reversing tumor multidrug resistance, etc. To study the material basis of its anti-cancer pharmacodynamics and the mechanism of tumor inhibition has significant meanings and a wide application perspective.

Objective To investigate the outcomes of arthroscopic reduction and internal fixation with cannulate lag screw for avulsion fracture of tibial intercondylar anterior eminence.Methods From May 2004 to December 2007,30 cases of tibial intercondylar anterior eminence avulsion fracture were treated by arthroscopic reduction and fixation with cannulated lag screw.Among the patients,there were 10 females and 20 males,ranging from 15 to 79 years old with an average age of 32.0.There were 12 fresh fractures and 18 old fractures.According to Meyers-McKeever-Zaricnyl's classification systems,there were 8 cases of type Ⅱ,15 cases of type Ⅲ,and 7 cases of type Ⅳ.Patients were encouraged to do postoperative rehabilitation,such as active joint extension and flexion,exercise of isometric contraction of quadriceps femoris.The treatment outcomes were evaluated by Lysholm and Irrgang knee score system.Results All patients were followed up for 3 months to 60 months(averaging 31.2 months).X rays revealed bony healing 2 months after operation.The joints were stable.Negative Lachaman and drawer and jerk tests were found in all cases,and there was no dysfunction in the knee joints.Lysholm scores were increased from(60.8?1.5)to(95.5?3.5)while Irrgang scores increased from(55.5?3.3)to(90.5?2.5).Conclusion Arthroscopic treatment of avulsion fracture of tibial intercondylar anterior eminence is an easy approach with minimal invasion,and has reliable reduction and fixation with satisfied results.

OBJECTIVE: To study the antibacterial activity of meropenem in vitro and the pharmacokinetics of which in patients with burn injury. METHODS: The minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) of meropenem against 136 clinical isolates was determined with double agar dilution method. 28 patients with burn injury were given 0.5g of meropenem by iv gtt, with the blood concentration of meropenem and the recovery of meropenem in urine were determined at different time. The pharmacokinetics parameters were computed with 3p97 software. RESULTS: Meropenem showed a strong antibacterial activity against K.peneumoniae, pneumonococcus and Enterobacter cloacae. MIC90 was below 0.0 075～0.25?g/ml. Pharmacokinetics parameters of meropenem were the following: t1/2? was (0.35?0.12) h,t1/2? was (2.10?0.71) h,AUC was (44.62?12.95) ?g/ml,Vc was (10.60?3.93) L; CLs was (12.00?3.04) L/h. 6.5 hours later, the mean blood concentration was (1.01?0.53)?g/ml; and the recovery of meropenem in 0h～12h urine was (58.06?16.83) %. CONCLUSIONS: Meropenem showed a very strong antibacterial activity in this study,there were significant differences regarding the in vivo pharmacokinetics parameters between the healthy volunteers and the patients with burn injury.

OBJECTIVE:To determine the content of ceftazidime in renal dialysate effluent in burn patients.METHODS:HPLC was used.The sample was separated on Bondapak-C18 analysis column with a mobile phase of mixture of methanol-ammonium acetate(17∶83,V/V).The flow rate was 1.0ml/min.The UV detector wavelength was set at 254nm.RESULTS:A linearity was obtained from 0.5～100?g/ml with a good correlation(r=0.9 999).The RSDs of inter-day and intra-day precision were not more than 3.The average recovery was 100.30%.CONCLUSION:The method is simple,rapid and accurate.
