A new compound and twelve known compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the roots of Homonoia riparia Lour, which are used in folk medicine for treatment of hepatitis, bellyache and scald, by the method of silica gel column chromatography repeatedly with a gradient of PE-EtOAc, PE-Me2CO, CHCl3-Me2CO, CHCl3-MeOH. Their structures were identified as a new compound 1-oxo-aleuritolic acid (1), and twelve known compounds aleuritolic acid (2), 3-acetoxy-aleuritolic acid (3), taraxerone (4), taraxerol (5), methyl 3-acetoxy-12-oleanen-28-oate (6), 3-acetoxy-12-oleanen-28-ol (7), ursolic acid (8), lupenol (9), 3β-acetoxy-lupenol (10), cleomiscosin A (11), chrysophanol (12), and gallic acid (13), which were obtained from this plant for the first time, by the spectroscopic techniques of NMR, HMBC, IR and MS, separately. Among the cytotoxicities evaluation of compounds 1-3 towards AGZY 83-a (human lung cancer cells) and SMMC-7721 (human liver cancer cells) tumor cells was assayed by MTT methods with cis-dichlorodiamminoplatinum (DDP) used as positive control. Compound 2 exerted weak activity against AGZY 83-a with the IC50 value of 33.055 μg·mL-1, while 1 and 3 showed no activity to these two cell lines.

Objective The person's Mesangial Proliferative Glomemlonephritis (MsPGN) were divided into 3 types based on clini- cal manifestations: nephroticsyndrome, hematuria and proteinuria. To investigate the expression of CD11a, CD11b, CD62L and its signifi- cance in the kidneys patients with MsPGN. Methods CD11a, CD11b and CD62L expression in blood of MsPGN patients (n=35) were investigated by flow eytometry method, and the changes of these proteins in kidney were surveyed. Results In MsPGN, CD11a and CD11b expression in blood were significandy lower and CD62L expression in blood were markedly higher than that in normal humans. And the renal glomeruli of MsPGN also expressed CD11a, CD11b and CD62L. Conclusion The expression of CD11a, CD11b and CD62L are abnormal in MsPGN, and apoptosis may play certain role in the pathogenesis of MsPGN.

Objective:To investigate the related factors of postoperative prognosis in patients with gastric cancer. Methods:The clinical and pathological data of 489 patients with gastric cancer, who underwent surgical treatment from Apr 2007 to May 2013 in Wujin Hospital,Jiangsu University were retrospectively analyzed, and the prognosis was evaluated with univariate and multi-variate analysis. Results:In the univariate analysis, age, tumor size, histological type, depth of invasion, operation method,num-ber of lymph node metastasis, carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)level increases preoperatively, the existence of distant metastasis were found to be significantly associated with the cumulative survival rate(P < 0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that histological type, number of lymph node metastasis, preoperative increase of CEA level, existence of distant metas-tasis were the independent factors which affected postoperative outcomes of patients with gastric cancer(P <0.05).Conclu-sions:Histological type, number of lymph node metastasis, existence of distant metastasis and preoperative increase of CEA level are the main factors that affect the postoperative prognosis of patients with gastric cancer.
