1.Indomethacin Protects from UVA and UVB Irradiation.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(1):55-58
The sunlight protecting effect of indomethacin (IM) was compared with topical sun screening agents of sun protecting factor(SPF) 2 and SPF 4, and it was found that IM stood in between SPF 2 and SPF 4. (vehicle of IM) painted skin was 4.8 J/cm and MED skin was 37.5 m J/cm. with UVB of PED painted was compared with topical 2 and SPF 4, and it was MED with UVA of PED with UVB of PED painted skin was 37 5 m J/cm.

2.Epidemiological Trend of Japanese Encephalitis in Korea.
Korean Journal of Preventive Medicine 1987;20(1):137-146
The following facts have been identified as a result of epidemiogical trend and characteristic of Japanese Encephalitis in Korea for the last 20 years. First: The Epidemiological period which was ten-year and three-year in the past has been disappeared following the start of immunization program at 1970. Second: The incidence rate was much higher in the south and West areas than northeast area of Korea. City and province with the highest incidence rate was Chungcheong Nam Province and Cholla Buk Province. Third: Regardless of scope of prevalence, the main season that 90 percent of total incidence occurs in one month from mid-September. Fourth: The number of case by age was that 80 percent of total patients is children aged 3-15. Recently there is an increase in the number of patients who are elderly people. Fifth: The study on the ecological conditions of mosquito including wintering and effectiveness of immunization for Japanese Encephalitis and duration on antibody should be done. Sixth: There has been no case of Japanese Encephalitis during last three years since 1984 mainly due to disinfecting to eradicate mosquitos, immunization for vulnerable group of people aged 3-15, individual precaution not to be bitten by mosquito, improvement sanitation. While there has been no case of Japanese Encephalitis during last three years, there is possibility that Japanese Encephalitis becomes prevalent again anytime since its virus has been isolated continuously from the natural reservoirs.

3.Therapeutic Efectivity of Intralesional Injection of 5 - Fluorouracil to Basal Cell Carcinomas.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1994;32(2):337-341
Basal cell carcinomas(BCCs) are usually treated with ablative proccdures, but a nonsurgical treatment would conserve tissue and obtain a better cosmetic out come as well as treat patients who refuse surgery or those who are not good surgical candidates. Because of inadequate drug penetration, low cure rates, high recurence rates, and adverse reactions, such as contact dermatitis, topical 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) is unsaitble to treat nodular BCCs. But, int, ralesional 5-FU has been reported to be effective for nodular BCCs. The efficacy and safety of intralesional injection of 5-FU have been evaluated for treatment of BCCs. The results revealed that intralesional injection of 5-FU seems to be effective in the treatment of various premalignant and malignant skin lesions as well as BCCs without side effects.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1989;27(2):217-221
We report a case of lupus vulgaris following BCG vaccination in a 12-year-old male. The patient was vaccinated against tuberculosis on right shoulder 6 months ago. The erythemstous papular eruptions began to develop on the BCG vaccinated site 2 weeks after vaccination. The eruptions progressed to be pruritic, erythematous plaque which was flat, crescent shaped, and centrally covered by adherent scales for 6 months. Histopathological findings revealed tubercles and tuberculoid structures composed of epitheloid cells and Langhans giant, cells in the dermis. Caseation necrosis within the tubercles was slight or absent. In addition, there was an infiltrate of mononuclear cells around the tubercles. The skin lesions cleared after 6 months of treatment with oral isoniazid 300mg daily.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(6):787-792
The effects of histamine type 2(H2) receptor antagonists, cimetidine and ranitidine, on the induction of contact hypersensitivity and UVB induced suppression of contact hypersensitivity were studied. Our experiment showed that treatment with cimetidine or ranitidine slightly enhanced contact hypersensitivity to DNCB, but the suppression of contact hypersensitivity elicited by UVB were moderatly reversed by ranitidine. These facts suggest that H2-receptor antagonist may be responsible for th blocking histamine induced suppressor factor by acting upon UV-induced suppressor T cell.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(1):109-111
Becker's nevus has been known as a sudden onset of hyperpigmentation on shoulder or arm in the second decade of life with slow peripheral extension and later development of hypertrichosis. We observed two cases of typical Becker's nevus which was confirmed by characteristicclinical and histopathological findings. One was 45-year-old male who has a patch of hyperpigmentation and hypertrichosis on left upper arm at birth, the other was 2()-year-old male who developed on right shoulder after sunburn which is a salient feature by Becker's initial description.
