A case of 14 year-old female with linear porokeratosis is reported with review of articles. She has been suffering from dark brownish, typical porokeratotic patches on the face, neck, right axilla, left hand and left lower extremity. Each lesions are distributed in linear arrangement. Family and past history are not contributory. On histologic examination of skin specimen shows typical cornoid lamella which is hallmark of this disease. Treament was carried with 5go salicylic acid ointment and 0. 025% halcinonide ointment alternatively without successful response.

It is often difficult to achieve bony union and eradicate infection in treating infected non-unions of the fractured long bones. Authors carried out a clinical analysis of the 35 infected non-union cases, all aged 21 years or older, treated and followed for 6 months to 6 years from July 1979 to July 1988 in order to determine the possible factors which might influence the time required for attaining union. The results were as follows: l. In 22 of the 35 infected non-unions, the primary fracture site was open (62.9%). The remaining 13 cases (37.1% ) were the closed fractures associated with postoperative infection. 2. The sites of infected non-union were tibia in 19 (54.3%), femur in 13 (37.1%), and upper extremity in 3 (8.6%) cases. Tibia was more often involved in open fractures (63.6%). Femur, on the other hand, was more involved in closed fractures (61.5%). 3. After an average of 3.3 times of bony procedures, primary fixation was left in place in 15 (42.9%), external fixation was required in 11 (31.4%), and internal fixation was performed in 9 (25.7%). Bone graft was performed in 26 cases (74.3%). 4. Time required for achieving union was 7.1 month with stable primary fixation and 21.7 months with unstable primary fixation. Femur and tibia united at 10.5 (mean; ranged from 4 to 29) and 7.0 (mean; ranged from 3 to 19) months, respectively. 5. Bony union was delayed as the number of prior surgical procedures before successful treatment increased; the time for union was significantly shorter when either stable primary fixation or external fixation was combined with bone grafting. 6. Firmer bony union was achieved after performing Osteoperiosteal decortication with autogenous cancellous bone graft even in the presence of remaining infection at the non-union site.

Hand tumor may arise as primary growth from any of the tissue present in the hand. Most are benign and malignant are uncommon. The hand is a sensitive organ, has a little potential space and moving parts, so tumors are usually detected early because of pain, impairment of function or swelling. A knowledge of frequency, location and clinical characteristics of hand tumor is invaluable in diagnosis. Usually early susgical measure is the treatment of choice. For the period of 6 years from 1962 to 1977, 29 cases of hand tumor were treated surgically and the results of clinical observation were as follows 1. Of 29 cases, benign tumor was 25 cases (86%) and bone-origin tumor was 18 cases. Enchondroma and enchondromatosis was the most frequent (12 cases). 2. The tumor occurred 22 cases in phalanx, 10 in metacarpal, and 2 in carpal bones. 3. The tumors were treated with excision in 11 cases, curettage & bone graft in 10, amputation in 4, biopsy in 2 and no treamtent in 2. 4. The most frequent site of enchondroma and enchondromatosis were ulnar side, ring and little finger, and of these metacarpophalangeal joints were involved most frequently.

This study was designed for the facial reconstruction of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim, who is the first priest in Korea. The study was entrusted by Seoul great parish, Myeongdong Cathedral and was conducted during 15 months from September 1999. To reconstruct the face of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim, we used photographs and metric data of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim's skull, which was measured by Department of Anatomy, Catholic Medical College at 1971. Based on above data, we found a skull similar to Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim, replicated it, and modified it to be consistent with that of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim measured at 1971. The face of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim was reconstructed on the modified replica of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim's skull using the forensic anthropological data about the average skin depth and the relationships of skull morphology to facial features of Korean. The average skin depth of Korean face was obtained from direct measurement of cadavers and indirect measurement of live Korean using ultrasonography. The result of facial reconstruction of Father Dae -Gun (Andrea) Kim was made as the bronze bust. The forensic anthropologic method such as facial reconstruction is one of the methods to identify unidentified -skull. This study is the first facial reconstruction on the base of Korean physical anthropological data and is thought to be helpful to the facial reconstruction for identification.
