Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture with medication for post-stroke depression.Methods:A total of 96 patients with post-stroke depression were randomized into an observation group and a control group,with 48 cases in each group.The control group was treated with oral fluoxetine hydrochloride capsules,and the observation group was treated with acupuncture on the basis of the treatment of the control group.After 6 months of treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom scores,and Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) component scores and total scores of the two groups before and after treatment were observed,and the clinical efficacy and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate was 95.8％ in the observation group and 83.3％ in the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the intra-group differences in TCM symptom scores and HAMD score of both groups were statistically significant (all P＜0.01).In the observation group,the scores of indifferent expression,emotional restlessness,and sentimentality in the TCM symptoms were statistically different from those in the control group (all P＜0.01).The scores of desperate factor and sleep disorder factor and total score in HAMD in the observation group were significantly different from those in the control group (all P＜0.01).The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.3％ in the observation group and 4.2％ in the control group,and the difference was not significant between the two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture plus medication is an effective method for post-stroke depression,and it can further improve the patient's bad mood.

The incidence of systemic fungal infections have increased dramatically, moreover, drug resistance including either primary (intrinsic) or secondary (acquired) resistance, becomes one of the main reasons accounting for the failure of treating invasive fungal infections in the past decades. Nowadays, clinically available antifungal drugs are limited and their combination in antifungal therapy was not effective. It is expected to be a new strategy to synergistically sensitize antifungal drugs against drug-resistant fungi by using new small molecules. Based on the study in our research group and the reported work of others, we reviewed the research of the natural products which have synergistic effect with the antifungal agents against drug-resistant fungi. This review focused on the resource, structure, pharmacological activity, and action mechanism of the compounds, as well as somewhat in common, and would provide theoretical base for seeking new drug against drug-resistance fungi.

Objective In order to explore the roles of TLR2 and TLR4 in the hepatocyte dam- age caused hy hepatitis B virus infection,and to find whether LPS can affect the damage of hepato- cytes pre-and pos-HBV infection,we detected the changes of TLR2 and TLR4 expressions in hu- man hepatocyte lines HepG2 cells and 2.2.15 cells.Methods HepG2 ceils are most similar to normal human hepatocytes and 2.2.15 ceils are HepG2 cells infected with HBV.We selected these two cell lines to study the differences of TLR2 and TLR4 expression between HepG2 cells before and after HBV infection.In this research,both HepG2 and 2.2.15 cells were stimulated with 0?g/ml, 1?g/ml,10?g/ml,100?g/ml,1 mg/ml and 10 mg/ml LPS.Then the expression of protein of TLR2 and TLR4 were examined by immuno-histochemistry(IHC).The cnRNA of HepG2 and 2.2.15 ceils stimulated with 0?g/ml and 10 mg/ml LPS were examined by reversal transcription-pol- ymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Thereafter,the apoptosis of HepG2 and HepG2.2.15 cells were examined by flow cytometry(FC),and the expressions of HBsAg and HBeAg of HepG2.2.15 cells tested with Abbott kits.Results IHC and RT-PCR analysis revealed that TLR2 and TLR4 expres- sions could he detected in both HepG2 and 2.2.15 cells.Moreover,without immune activation, TLR2 and TLR4 expressions were higher in the presence of higher concentrations of LPS.FC analy sis revealed that no apoptosis detected in HepG2 ceils stimulated with LPS in this research,but apop- tosis could be detected in 2.2.15 cells when treated with the same factors.Furthermore,the apoptosis ratios increased with the increase of LPS concentrations.When concentrations of LPS were 1?g/ml, 10?g/ml,100?g/ml,1 mg/ml and 10 mg/ml,the apoptosis ratios were 1.94%,3.03%,3.50%, 3.72%,5.30%,respectively.Abbott analysis revealed that expressions of HBsAg and HBeAg of 2.2.15 cells stimulated with LPS were lower than those not stimulated with LPS.Conclusion HBV can affect the expressions of TLR2 and TLR4 in HepG2 cell lines.LPS can lead 2.2.15 cells to apop- tosis but not HepG2 cells.Although LPS cannot damage normal hepatocytes,it might aggravate hep- atocytes damage when their microenvironment was changed by HBV infection.

Objective To discuss significance of continuous monitoring of jugular venous oxygen saturation(S_(jv)O_2)in the course of mild hypothermia treatment(MHT)for severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI).Methods Intracranial pressure(ICP),S_(jv)O_2 and brain tissue pressure(P_(bt)O_2)were contin- uously monitored in 36 cases with sTBI for analyzing the correlation between S_(jv)O_2 and P_(bt)O_2.Results (1)There was negative linear correlation between P_(bt)O_2 and ICP(r=-0.978,P＜0.05),negative lin- ear correlation between S_(jv)O_2 and ICP(r=-0.947,P＜0.05)and positive linear correlation between P_(bt)O_2 and S_(jv)O_2(r=0.965,P＜0.05)within 24 hours and at 36 hours and 48 hours after injury.(2) The cases with decreased S_(jv)O_2 value had a worse outcome than those with normal S_(jv)O_2.meanwhile,the cases with abnormal increase of S_(jv)O_2 value had worse prognosis.Prognnsis was improved significantly with increase of S_(jv)O_2 in certain range(P＜0.05).Conclusion Continuous monitoring of S_(jv)O_2 can reflect the condition of hemicerebral oxygen metabolism and guide treatment and predicting outcome.

Objective　To investigate the validity of the Chinese version of the Symptom Check-List-90 (the SCL-90) in Chinese population. Methods　A total of 624 normal person and 268 out patients were examined with the SCL-90. Results　（1）The internal consistency of the original subscales was found to be good and Cronbach's coefficient alpha ranged from 0.78 to 0.90; （2）Discrimination function analysis based on the 9 original subscales showed that the power of the SCL-90 in discriminating the patients and the community was good with a corrective rate of 80.6%; （3）Factor analysis on the items of the questionnaire yielded a very strong un-rotated first factor which could represent other factors; （4）High inter-correlations were found between the 9 original subscales of the SCL-90 with a correlation coefficient ranging from 0.39 to 0.79. Conclusion　(1) The SCL-90 is acceptable as a research setting and psychiatric screening inventory; (2) The SCL-90 does not have potential as an inventory to distinguish different diagnostic groups; (3) The SCL-90 is not a multidimensional inventory.

Insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) is involved in both glucose and bone metabolism. IGF-1R signaling regulates the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. In this study, we investigated whether the IGF-1R/ β-catenin signaling axis plays a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic osteoporosis (DOP). Serum from patients with or without DOP was collected to measure the IGF-1R level using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rats were given streptozotocin following a four-week high-fat diet induction (DOP group), or received vehicle after the same period of a normal diet (control group). Dual energy X-ray absorption, a biomechanics test, and hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining were performed to evaluate bone mass, bone strength, and histomorphology, respectively, in vertebrae. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blotting were performed to measure the total and phosphorylation levels of IGF-1R, glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), and β-catenin. The serum IGF-1R level was much higher in patients with DOP than in controls. DOP rats exhibited strikingly reduced bone mass and attenuated compression strength of the vertebrae compared with the control group. HE staining showed that the histo-morphology of DOP vertebrae was seriously impaired, which manifested as decreased and thinned trabeculae and increased lipid droplets within trabeculae. PCR analysis demonstrated that IGF-1R mRNA expression was significantly up-regulated, and western blotting detection showed that phosphorylation levels of IGF-1R, GSK-3β, and β-catenin were enhanced in DOP rat vertebrae. Our results suggest that the IGF-1R/β-catenin signaling axis plays a role in the pathogenesis of DOP. This may contribute to development of the underlying therapeutic target for DOP.
