Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of combination of TCM with western medicine for depressive neurosis.Methods The therapeutic group included 30 cases,patients were treated by combination of TCM with western medicine.The control group included 30 eases,patients were treated only with western medicine.Four weeks was a course of treatment.Results The efficacy of the therapeutic group was 96.7% ,the efficacy of the control group was 66.7% ,there is a significant difference between the two groups(P <0.01).Conclusion The combination of TCM with western medicine for depressive neurosis is effective with short course of treatment.

Objective:To investigate the sensitivities and specificities of high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography, thin layer CT enhancing scan and 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy in diagnosis of secondary hyperparathyroidism(SHPT)in uremia patients.Methods: High-frequency color doppler ultrasonography, thin layer CT enhancing scan and 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy were performed in 35 uric patients to detect the hyperplastic parathyroid glands. Then biopsies with thin needles were conducted with B ultrasound instruction in hyperplastic glands to determine the sensitivities and specificities of the above techniques and free combination of each 2 of them in diagnosis of SHPT. Results: The sensitivities /specificities of high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography, thin layer CT enhancing scan and 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy were 73%/95%, 75%/93% and 89%/98%, respectively; the sensitivity/specificity of 4 combinations: high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography plus CT, high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography plus 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy, CT plus 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy,and high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography plus CT plus 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy were 84%/90%, 93%/93%, 95%/93%, and 100%/90%, respectively. Conclusion: The sensitivity of 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy SHPT is higher than that of high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography and CT, but the specificity is not significantly different 3 photographic techniques. However, combination of high-frequency color doppler ultrasonography and 99m Tc-MIBI biphasic scintigraphy is simple and sensitive and can be regarded as the first choice for diagnosis of SHPT in uremia patients.

Objective To morphologically evaluate the bone marrow (BM) smear specimens collected from the patients with chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) in accelerated phase and blastic phase receiving a short term Gleevec therapy, and to determine its clinical significance in evaluating the changes in disease condition to guide the treatment. Methods Sequential BM smear specimens of 16 Ph positive CML patients, including 9 in accelerated-phase and 7 in blastic-phase, were examined before and 3,6 and 9 weeks after Gleevec treatment (0.4/d or 0.6g/d, PO) with routine method. Periodic acid-Schiff reagent (PAS) staining was performed for a proper identification of abnormal erythroid precursor cells. Results The treatment rapidly caused following conspicuous BM changes in the process: both cellular proliferation and neutrophil granulopoiesis decreased significantly, while the accumulation of erythroid precursor cells increased obviously, and megakaryocytes decreased markedly at 3rd week. A few patients showed no such changes, but an accumulations of erythroid precursor cells, leading to misdiagnosis in some one third of the patients. In 21 percent of patients, in whom no erythroid cells were found, were classified into accelerated phase and blast phase based on both WHO classification system and FAB system. In fact the increase in red system was a bone marrow response to anemia caused by Gleevec therapy. If a condition of severe cellular proliferation of BM with a lower WBC and platelets appeared, most patients could not tolerate the therapy, then it should be ceased. Conclusion Initial treatment with Gleevec therapy exerts pronounced changes in BM morphology, which can be used as a simple and effective method to evaluate the outcome of the patients.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression level of HOTAIR and cellular radiosensitivity in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods Four ESCC cell lines ( K150, K450, TE-1, and Eca109 ) were used in this study. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was applied to measure the expression level of HOTAIR in the above cell lines;colony-forming assay was applied to measure the survival fraction of different cells irradiated by different doses of X-ray. The t-test or analysis of variance was applied for analysis of differences. The correlation analysis was used by Pearson methods. Results The four cell lines all showed high expression levels of HOTAIR and radioresistance. Compared with the other three cell lines, Eca109 had a lower expression level of HOTAIR, a lower survival fraction at each radiation dose point, and significantly lower D0 and Dq . Objective:This study was based on digital orthodontic diagnosis work flow for indirect bonding transfer tray model design and three-dimensional (3D) printing, and the aim of this paper was to inspect the dimensional accuracyof 3D printed brackets, which is the foundation of the follow up work and hoped that will illuminate the clinical application of the digital orthodontics work flow.Methods: The samples which consisted of 14 cases of patients with malocclusion from Department of Orthodontics Peking University were selected, including 8 cases with tooth extraction and 6 cases without tooth extraction.All the 14 patients were taken intra-oral scan (Trios 3Shape,Denmark)and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT, NewTom 3G volumetric scanner, Aperio Service,Italy)shooting after periodontal treatment.STL data and DICOM data were obtained from intraoral scans and CBCT images.Data segmentation, registration, fusion, automatic tooth arrangement, virtual positioning of orthodontic appliance and conversion the coordinates of malocclusion model were all done with self-programming software.The data of 3D printing model with brackets on it were output finally and printed out with EDEN260V (Objet Geometries, Israel) to make indirect bonding transfer tray.Digital vernier caliper was used to measure the length and width of upper and lower left brackets and buccal tubes on those 3D models after removal of surrounding supporting material by ultrasonic vibration and water-spray.Intra-examiner reliability was assessed by using intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC), and one-sample T test was used to compare the measurements with the standard dimensional data of the brackets.Results: There were significant differences which range in 0.04-0.17 mm between the 13 items out of the 19 measurement items.Except for the length of the lower left premolars''brackets, mean values of the other items were greater than the test value.Conclusion: Although the measurement results in the width of brackets and the width and length of the buccal tubes obtained experimentally were slightly larger than the test value,this may not reduce the accuracy of indirect bonding procedure in clinic necessarily.Whether the differences which range in 0.04-0.17 mm would actually affect the retention and positioning of brackets needs to be confirmed by further studies.

Objective To explore the expression of PRR11(Proline-rich protein 11) in human osteosarcoma and investigate the effect of PRR11 on the proliferation of human osteosarcoma cells.Methods Immunohistochemical staining was applied to detect the PRR11 expression in 75 cases of osteosarcoma and corresponding normal tissues.Western blotting was used to examine PRR11 protein expression levels in osteosarcoma cell lines.We used siRNA to knock down the expression of PRR11 and tested the effects of PRR11 down-regulation on the proliferation in SaOS2 cells.Results PRR11 was overexpressed in osteosarcoma specimens compared to their paired normal tissues,the over expression rate of PRR11 in osteosarcoma and corresponding paracancerous tissues were 76％(57/75) and 9.33％(7/75) with statistical difference(P<0.05).The high expression of PRR11 was correlated with tumor pathological grade and lymphatic metastasis(P<0.05).PRR11 was expressed in 4 osteosarcoma cell lines which were SaOS2,143B,U2OS and MG63 respectively,the expression was highest in SaOS2 cells.Silencing PRR11 inhibited cell growth as compared with control cells(P<0.05).Conclusion PRR11 is overexpression in human osteosarcoma and promotes its progression by enhancing proliferation.The increased expression of PRR11 in osteosarcoma is a new target for treatment and early diagnosis of human osteosarcoma patients.

Objective To explore the possible effect and mechanism of quercetin (QU) in inhibiting scar formation after the alkali burn of rat's cornea. Methods We established corneal alkali-burn model on right eyes of the SD rats. The rats were divided into five groups randomly. The control group received blank ophthalmic gel; the QU treatment groups received 2.5, 5, 10, or 20g/kg quercetin ophthalmic gel, respectively. The rats were checked by slit-lamp microscope every day for the degree of corneal opacity, then were killed on day 4, 7, 14, 21 and 28 after operation. The infiltration of the inflammatory cells was observed by histology, the arrangement and proliferation of the collagen fibers in the corneal stroma were observed by Masson trichrome staining. The expression of transforming growth factor-β_1 (TGF-β_1) and receptor of transforming growth factor-βⅠ(TGF-βRⅠ) in cornea was observed by immunohistochemical method. Results The corneal opacity was less severe in the QU treatment groups than in the control group (P<0.05). Corneal scar was inhibited better in 10g/kg QU and 20g/kg QU groups than in 2.5g/kg and 5g/kg QU groups, and 10g/kg and 20g/kg QU groups had no significant differences (P>0.05). HE and Masson staining showed that the density of corneal stroma collagen fibers in the QU treatment groups was lower than that in the control group. The expression of TGF-β_1 and TGF-βRⅠ reached the peak on day 7 after alkali burn, and then decreased slowly, which was close to the normal level. The expression of TGF-β_1 and TGF-βRⅠ was inhibited better in 10g/kg and 20g/kg QU groups than in 2.5g/kg and 5g/kg groups, and 10g/kg and 20g/kg QU groups had no significant differences (P>0.05). Conclusion QU ophthalmic gel can reduce formation of corneal scar to a certain extent, 10g/kg is the optimal concentration. QU may play its role by inhibiting the expression of TGF-β1 and TGF-βRⅠ.

Objective To study the neuroprotective effects of erythropoietin on intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Method The rat models of 1CH were produced by injecting autologous blood into caudate necleus by using stereotatic techique. One hundred ten male wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, namely normal group,sham operation group, 1CU group, and EPO treatment group. The immunohistochemistry and TUNEL were used to detect expressions of Bc 1-2 and Bax,and apoptosis cells. LSD- t and Pearson correlation were used to analyzing data. Results The positive cells of TUNEL Bcl-2 and Bax in ICH group and EPO group obviously increased over 6 hours,and reached peak 72 hours later,and decreased over 120 hours,and the positive cells in different intervals significantly decreased in ICH group and EPO group compared with those in sham operation group (P < 0.01). The positive cells of TUNEL and Bax in EPO group in different intervals significantly decreased compared with those in ICH group (P < 0.01). The Bcl-2 positive cells in EPO group in different intervals significantly increased compared with those in ICH group (P < 0.01). The Bax protein expression, Bax/Bcl-2 and apoptosis presented positive correlation (P < 0.01). Conclusions Apoptosis may induce some brain injury after ICH,and EPO can decrease the number of apoptotic cells after ICH by up-regulating Bcl-2 and down-regulating Bax.
