1.Development and experimental test of ribbed, oxygen-enriched and inflatable tent

Objective To develop a ribbed,oxygen-enriched and inflatable tent to fulfill the requirements for mobile enriched oxygen supply under plateau conditions.Methods The tent was developed with ribbed skeleton,PVC material,nested structure,buffer door,channel for fresh air dispersion,exhaust recovery pipeline and etc,and the self-developed plateau oxygen enrichers were involved in to establish a mobile oxygen-enriched room.The enrichers were divided into four grades of 20,50,70 and 100 m3/h,which were used to execute 8-h oxygen-enriched fresh air dispersion in the tent.The change curves of the fractions for oxygen and carbon dioxide were compared and analyzed at 5 disperse points in the tent.Results Optimal effect was acquired with 20 m3/h oxygen enricher,the oxygen concentration reached 27% in the tent after 8-h dispersion,while the carbon dioxide fraction was 1 800 ppm (1 ppm=l×l0-6) and it took 3-h to raise oxygen concentration to 25%.Conclusion The tent combined with 20 m3/h oxygen enricher decreases the equivalent altitude from 5 000 m to less than 3 000 m,and is hopeful to be spreaded in the plateau troops after improvement.
2.Development of new loading device for establishment of stress fracture animal models

Objective To develop a novel stress fracture animal model system based on dynamic cyclic mechanical loading.Methods Ulnae and tibiae of rats were respectively fixed using differently shaped fixtures (including a fixed holder and a movable holder).The axial mechanical loading was applied via a linear actuator based on LabVIEW control program.During the loading process,a load cell and a laser displacement transducer were used to detect the force and displacement changes in the limbs,respectively.The two signals were sampled at real time by PC-based LabVIEW data acquisition program.A compressive loading test (peak force of 50 N) was conducted to examine the consistency and reliability of cyclic loads after completing the loading system.The loading system and an ElectroForce 3220 mechanical testing machine were respectively used to measure and compare the Young's modulus of a standard ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)cylinder to calibrate the loading system.Results The compressive loading test (peak force of 50 N) demonstrated that the mechanical loading system was able to apply consistent loads with controllable intensity and time.The calibration experiment indicated the accuracy of the loading system.Conclusion The novel mechanical loading device has characteristics of precision,scientificity and reliability,and it is approaching the real development situation of stress fracture,which may provide a reliable experimental base for exploring the precautionary measures of stress fracture.
3.Optimal "Huohou" of fermentation process of Jianqu Leaven

AIM To analyze the optimal "Huohou" (fermentation time and temperature) of fermentation process of Jianqu Leaven [fermentation product composed of medicinal materials (Artemisiae annuae Herba,Menthae haplocalycis Herba,Angelicae dahuricae Radix,etc.),wheat bran and flour).METHODS The colors and odors of twelve batches of samples during fermentation process were detected by machine vision and electronic nose technologies,respectively.The contents of total sugar and total protein,together with activities of amylase,protease and lipase,were determined to analyze constituent changes.RESULTS The content of total sugar was significantly decreased,but that of total protein was slightly increased,and the activities of three enzymes were increased to different degrees.At temperature of 28-30 ℃ and relative humidity of 70%-80%,the optimal fermentation terminal point of Jianqu Leaven was 30-36 h.CONCLUSION The Jianqu Leaven obtained by this fermentation method is totally covered with white mould,and has wine flavor,which meets the requirement of traditional processing.
4.Clinical outcomes of buttress plating in treating posterior Pilon fractures through modified posteromedial approach.

OBJECTIVETo explore clinical outcomes of buttress plating in treating posterior Pilon fracture by amodified posteromedial approach.
METHODSFrom July 2014 to January 2015, 10 patients with posterior Pilon fracture were respectively analyzed, including 7 females and 3 males, aged from 31 to 54 years old. One patient were type , 3 patients were type IIand 6 patients were type III according to classification of Pilon fracture by YU Guang-rong. All patients were treated by buttress plating through amodified posteromedial approach. Postoperative complications, fracture healing and reduction were observed, AOFAS score were used to evaluate function recovery at 1 year after operation.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 12 to 18 months with an average of(14.1±3.2) months. All incisions were primarily healed at stage I without wound complication, neurovascular injuries or musculus flexor contracture. According to Burwell-Charnley imaging scoring, 8 patients got anatomical reduction and 2 patients got moderate reduction. All fracture got healing from 12 to 16 weeks with an average of(13.2±1.8) weeks. According to AOFAS score at 1 year after operation, 8 got excellent results and 2 moderate. All patients returned to work at about(4.7±1.4) months (ranged from 3 to 6 months) after operation.
CONCLUSIONSButtress plating using a modified posteromedial approach in treating posterior Pilon fractures is an effective method, has less complications, and could recovery early weight-bearing functional exercise.
