Objective To investigate the morbidity,clinical feature,diagnosis and therapy of ovarian disease in children.Methods Eighty-two children with ovarian disease were admitted and treated in Nanjing children's hospital from Jan.1992 to Jan.2007,were analyzed retrospectively with age,emergency admissions or not,dwell,pathology and method of operation.Results The age of 82 patients ranged from 1 day to 14 years old and the mean age was 6.7 years old.Thirty-one cases(37.8%) were emergency admissions and 51 cases(62.2%) were routine admissions.Twenty-seven cases(32.9%) were rural patients and 55 cases(67.1%) were urban patients.Forty-five cases(54.8%) were nontumorous disorder,31 cases(37.8%) were benign tumor and only 6 cases(7.4%) were malignant tumor.About the morbidity,12 patients(14.6%)were admitted from 1992 to 1996,24 patients(29.5%) from 1997 to 2001 and 46 patients(55.9%) from 2002 to 2007.Chemotherapy were carried out in 6 cases with malignant tumor in internal medicine,2 cases with sexual precosity kept observation,the others were cured.Conclusions Ovarian disease can occur at any age in children.The clinical manifestation is characterized mainly by acute abdomen.The incidence of ovarian disease of children in urban areas is higher than that children in rural areas.The morbidity continues to show an upward tendency and the pathologic manifestations are mostly benign,laparoscopic operation has obviously superiority.

PCR/ASO probes were applied to analyse the T-786C polymorphisms in 5′-flanking region of endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)gene in type 2 diabetic patients with or without nephropatby and healthy individuals.The results showed that the T-786C polymorphisms of eNOS gene seemed to be related to diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes.

OBJECTIVE: To develop the accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) for determining pesticides present in blood samples. METHODS: Pesticides were extracted by ASE with optimized parameters to study recovery rate affected by extraction temperature, time and agent. GC/MS was used to perform quantitative analysis. RESULTS: The recovery rates of eight pesticides were 70.6%-92.4%. The coefficient of variation was less than 5.0%. A good linear relationship was obtained at the concentration range of 0.5-5.0 microg/mL. CONCLUSION The method was fast and simple with high recovery rate and good repeatability. It can be applied to analyze pesticides present in the blood specimen.

OBJECTIVE: To establish the solid phase extraction (SPE) with GC/MS technology for fish poisoning cases to determine five pesticides in fishpond. METHODS: By three solid phase extraction column including Oasis HLB cartridge, Bond Elut C18 and SampliQ C18, the recovery rate was compared to extract and purify five pesticides in fishpond. The effects of different kinds and dosages of eluents on extract rate were also reviewed. RESULTS Using Bond Elut C18 as solid phase extraction column and 3 mL benzene as eluent, the linear range of mass concentration of five pesticides in fishpond was 1-50 μg/mL, and the correlation coefficient was 0.996 2-0.999 6. The limit of detection was 3.4-26 μg/L and the recovery was 61.49%-102.48%. The relative standard deviations was less than or equal to 3.01%. CONCLU-SION: With high sensitivity, good accuracy and precision, SPE-GC/MS has simple and quick operation and less solvent. It can be applied to determination of five pesticides in fishpond.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the linkage between angiotensin-(1-7) ［Ang-(1-7)］ and the release of amino acid neurotransmitters in the the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) by techniques of microinjection, microdialysis combined with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-fluorescent detection. Unilateral microinjection of Ang-(1-7) into the RVLM of anesthetized rats produced an increase in mean arterial pressure (MAP) accompanied by an increased release of glutamate (Glu). In contrast, microinjection of Ang779, a selective antagonist of Ang-(1-7) receptor, caused a decrease in MAP with a decreased releaceof Glu and an increased release of glycine,taurine and r-aminobutyric acid.The pressor effect of Ang-(1-7)and the depressor effect of Ang779 were in part blocked by corresponding andtagonists of aminoacid receptors.These results suggest that the pressor effect of Ang-(1-7)in the RVLM may be partially due to an increased release of Glu,whereas the depressor effect of Ang779 may be partially attributed to a decreased release of Glu and an increased release of inhibitory amino acid neurotransmitters

The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effect of exogenous bcl-2 on spinal cord motoneurons following sciatic nerve axotomy. After epineurium suturing, sense bcl-2 (Ad/s-bcl-2), antisense bcl-2 (Ad/as-bcl-2), or reporter gene lacZ (Ad/lacZ) recombinant adenovirus or NS was injected into the sciatic nerve 0.5 cm distant from the sutured point respectively in different groups. The rats were transcardially perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde on postoperative 48 h, 7 d, 15 d and 30 d respectively and the spinal cords of L4 to L6 were harvested. X-gal staining, bcl-2 in situ hybridization and immunohistochemical staining, TUNEL (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labeling) staining and AChE (acetyl cholinesterase) histochemical staining were used. We observed that the exogenous lacZ gene was expressed in the spinal cord of Ad/lacZ group, and sense bcl-2 significantly decreased the number of apoptotic motoneurons and the decreasing degree of AChE activity of the motoneurons in the spinal cord induced by sciatic nerve axotomy and accelerate AChE activity recovery. However, antisense bcl-2 increased the number of apoptotic motoneurons and the decreasing degree of AChE activity of the motoneurons in the spinal cord induced by sciatic nerve axotomy and prolonged AChE activity recovery. These results demonstrate that exogenous bcl-2 may protect motor neurons from injury induced by peripheral nerve axotomy.

ObjectiveTo investigate the impact of metal plate on radiation dose distribution by Monte Carlo (MC) code. MethodsThe metal plates with 0. 4 thick were placed in water at 5 cm, all the plate irradiated with 6 MV X-ray were simulated by MC code, SSD =100 cm. The percentage depth dose with or without metal implants were compared. ResultsThe surface absorbed doses on incident plane of stainless steel plate and titanium plate were increased by 19. 6％ and 15.7％ respectively as compared water,the dose influence was less than 1.5％ more than 0. 3 cm outside the incidence plane. The doses on the exit surface of stainless steel plate and titanium plate were lowered by 8. 6％ and 8. 2％ when compared with water, the dose impacts of this places where were from the exit surface of stainless steel plate 、titanium plate more than 1.2 cm,0. 9 cm were less than 1.5％. The surface absorbed doses on incident plane of stainless steel plate were increased by 3.9％ respectively as titanium plate, the dose of the exit surface of stainless steel plate and titanium plate was similar. Conclusions MC method is a fast and accurate calculation method. The influence of metal plate on the radiotherapy dose distribution is significant. Under the such condition, the impact of stainless steel plate is much more than that of titanium alloy plate.
