This study was aimed to diffuse the lung and promote urination for the observation of cardiopulmonary re-lated index change of cor pulmonale rats to further explore the treatment effect on the pulmonary function, pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and the influence of right heart hypertrophy of rats, in order to further illustrate the ef-fect of diffusing the lung and promoting urination for cor pulmonale. Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into the control group, model group and Xiao-Qing-Long decoction (XQLD) group with 20 rats in each group. The AniRes2003 animal lung function analysis system was applied to measure the pulmonary function of rats. And the multi-guide physiological recorder was used in the recording of the pulmonary artery pressure of rats. The conven-tional weighing method was applied to calculate and obtain the change of right heart hypertrophy. The results showed that compared to the control group, symptoms in the model group became severe obviously, which include reduced activity, slow movement and occasional airway sputum sound, and the right heart hypertrophy index of the model group increased obviously (P < 0.01). Compared to the model group, the pulmonary function and pulmonary artery pressure of the XQLD group have obvious difference (P< 0.05). It was concluded that to diffuse the lung and pro-mote urination can effectively improve the pulmonary function, PAH and the right heart hypertrophy index of rats with cor pulmonale (fluid retention). The effect of this method is definite in the treatment of cor pulmonale.

Objective To explore the changes of atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP)and parathyroid hormone(PTH)in umbilical cord blood of newborn infants with intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR)and their relationships with electrolytic. Methods A total of 71 IUGR infants borned between Jan.2006 and Aug.2007 were enrolled in this study.Another 40 normal appropriate for gestational age neonates were selected as control group. The study group were divided into 2 groups:mature IUGR group(n=29)and premature IUGR group(n=42).The samples of umbilical cord blood of every group were collected at the time of delivery, and ANP,PTH levels in umbilical cord blood were mea-sured by radioimmunoassay. The sodium, calcium levels in their peripheral vein were measured simultaneously. Results 1.Compared with control group[(0.78?0.42)?g/L],the ANP levels of premature IUGR group[(1.26?0.47)?g/L] and the mature IUGR group[(1.09?0.51)?g/L] were significantly increased(t=5.98,2.76 Pa0.05).The calcium levels of the premature IUGR group[(1.85?0.37)mmol/L]significantly decreased(t=1.93 P0.05)compared with control group [(2.02?0.44)mmol/L].3.The serum sodium level was negatively correlated with the umbilical ANP level(r=-0.93 P

According to Chinese medicine, the atlantoaxial joint is a composite joint composed of tendons and bones, and the stability of the joint depends on the 'tendon-bone balance' involving tendons, ligaments, atlas and axis. Multiple causes of 'tendon off-position, joint subluxation' will lead to joint 'tendon-bone imbalance', which will evolve into atlantoaxial subluxation (AAS), endangering human health. Chinese therapeutic massage (tuina) is a very effective treatment for AAS in adults, but conventional manipulations are prone to ineffectiveness or accidents due to neglect of the causal relationship of the 'tendon-bone imbalance' and inappropriate manipulations. Compared with conventional manipulations, the rational choice of modified manipulations under the guidance of 'tendon-bone balance' theory is more effective and less risky, and more worthy of clinical promotion. From the 'tendon-bone balance' theory, we considered the shortcomings of conventional manipulations, and introduced several modified manipulations that have their own strengths in 'tendon smoothing' and 'bone setting', in order to provide new ideas for treatment of AAS in adults.

OBJECTIVETo observe and study the tissue characteristics of T. mongolicum ultramicro-power and dissolving-out characteristics of effective compositions.
METHODBy microscopic observation and thin-layer chromatography.
RESULTNearly all cell walls of T. mongolicum are broken and dissolving-out characteristics of effective compositions are remarkably improved, after it is ultramicro-porphyrized.

Objective To observe the sequence of fat deposit and its relationship with insulin resistance in SD rats fed by high fat diet. Methods Normal 8-week-old male SD rats were randomly divided into normal chow (NC,n=40)and high fat diet(HF,n=40)groups.Triglyceride(TG)in serum, liver and muscle were measured;glucose infusion rate(GIR)and the mRNA level of genes related to lipid metabolism in liver and muscle were determined in different stages.GIR was detected by eugiyeemic-hyperinsulinemic clamp for evaluating the insulin sensitivity.Gene expression was determined by real-time PCR.Results(1)As compared with NC group, serum TG was not increased after high fat feeding for4 and 8 weeks,it began to increase after 12 weeks [0.52(0.15-1.00) mmol/L vs O.31(0.09-0.53)retool/L, P0.05)in skeletal muscle. After 8 weeks, the expression of ACC1 in liver in HF group was increased by 20.6%,CPT-1 was decreased by 27.1%(P

OBJECTIVETo observe pharmacological difference between ultra-fine particles of six ingredient Rehmannia pill and traditional six ingredient Rehmannia pill.
METHODPharmacokinetic index was measured by death rate, and pharmacology actions were compared by anti-fatigue, hypoglycemic, clearance rate of charcoal particle, hypoxia resistance and serum hemolysin concentration experiment.
RESULTDose-effection was significant and pharmacology actions were more than traditional six ingredient Rehmannia pill in six ingredient Rehmannia pill.
CONCLUSIONUltra-fine particles of six ingredient Rehmannia pill are better than traditional six ingredient Rehmannia pill in bioavailability and pharmacology actions, and the weight of pill is reduced while efficacy is enhenced by ultra-fine particles.

BACKGROUNDDelay in seeking medical care in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is receiving increasing attention. This study aimed to examine the association between expected symptoms and experienced symptoms of AMI and its effects on care-seeking behaviors of patients with AMI.
METHODSBetween November 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006, a cross-sectional and multicenter survey was conducted in 19 hospitals in Beijing and included 799 patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) admitted within 24 hours after onset of symptoms. Data were collected by structured interviews and medical record review.
RESULTSThe median (25%, 75%) prehospital delay was 140 (75, 300) minutes. Only 264 (33.0%) arrived at the hospital by ambulance. The most common symptoms expected by patients with STEMI were central or left chest pain (71.4%), radiating arm or shoulder pain (68.7%), shortness of breath or dyspnea (65.5%), and loss of consciousness (52.1%). The most common symptoms experienced were central or left chest pain (82.1%), sweats (71.8%), shortness of breath or dyspnea (43.7%), nausea or vomiting (32.3%), and radiating pain (29.4%). A mismatch between symptoms experienced and those expected occurred in 41.8% of patients. Patients who interpreted their symptoms as noncardiac in origin were more likely to arrive at the hospital by self-transport (86.5% vs. 52.9%, P < 0.001) and had longer prehospital delays (medians, 180 vs. 120 minutes, P < 0.001) compared to those who interpreted their symptoms as cardiac in origin.
CONCLUSIONSSymptom interpretation influenced the care-seeking behaviors of patients with STEMI in Beijing. A mismatch between expectation and actual symptoms was associated with longer prehospital delay and decreased use of emergency medical service (EMS).
