The JC virus is a widely infected human polyomavirus. Recent foreign researches showed that the JC virus infection is correlated with tumors of nervous system and digestive system, while, and study on the relationship between JC virus infection and gynecological tumor is seldom reported. In this study, we first establish the nucleic acid detection methods and procedures for JC virus and its highly homologous BK virus. The JC and BK viruses infection was evaluated by detect the viral DNA in samples including biopsy tissues, serum as well as urine of myoma of uterus (98 cases), cervical cancer (84 cases), endometrial cancer (40 cases) and ovarian tumor (72 cases) patients. The BK viral DNA positive rate was significantly higher in urine samples than that of blood and biopsy samples, and there is no significant difference of the BK viral DNA positive rate among all patient groups. The JC viral DNA positive rate is almost 0 in serum samples and biopsy. tissues, however, viral DNA positive rate is more than 50% in urine samples. In fibroids group, the JC viral DNA positive rate is up to 65. 3% which is significantly higher than that in other patients groups and healthy control. Further gynecological tumor associated viruses detection showed that only human papilloma virus infection is associated with cervical cancer, the herpes simplex virus, EB virus and cytomegalovirus infection is extremely low in our patient groups. No synergistic effect on gynecological tumor caused by viruses co-infection was observed. Our study showed that JC virus infection is highly related to the pathogenesis of uterine fibroids.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of cerebral white matter damage in premature rats induced by intrauterine infection.Methods30 mature pregnant Wistar-Imamichi rats were divided into the experimental group (n=18) and control group (n=12). The rats of the experimental group were injected with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) 0.2 mg/kg in abdomen on 15th and 16th day after gestation. Those of the control group were injected with distilled water in equal volume. 45 premature rats born in the experimental group and 45 full-term rats born in the control group were tested with RIA for interleukin-6 (IL-6). The brain tissues of another 47 premature rats and 41 full-term rats were stained with HE method. Finally water content in brain tissue were tested in 50 premature rats and 50 full-term rats.ResultsIL-6 concentration of brain tissue of the premature rats in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group ( P<0.01); and water content of the premature rats' brain was also higher than that of the full-term rats ( P<0.01). The edema of periventricular white matter, loose neuropil, decreased cell numbers, broaden intercellular space, and cell swelling and rupture were found in the brain tissue of the premature rats, no abnormal form and structure were found in the control group.ConclusionWhite matter damage of premature rats can be caused by endotoxin, and accompanied by IL-6 and water contents increasing.

Utilizing the enrichment substrate,an aerobic denitrifying bacterial strain with the capability of phosphorus removal was screened from the activated sludge which had been domesticated by actual living sewage.By the morphological observing and identification of the physiological and biochemical indexes, the strain was identified to belong to Pseudomonas. The aerobic denitrifying bacterial strain was applied to deal with the simulated and actual living wastewater.By inspecting the changes of total nitrogen, inorganic phosphorus and CODcr in the wastewater,it was ascertained that the optimal wastewater treatment condi-tions of the bacterial strain were C/N= 3,inoculated ratio= 10%,pH 6.8,30?C,treatment time= 2 d.After the activated sludge was strengthened by the aerobic denitrifying bacterial strain, its treatment capability for ac-tual living sewage was improved, evidently.

The author detected the genetic diversity and genetic relationship within and among eight medicinal species of Dipsacus by the approach of sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP). The associated genetic parameters were calculated by POPGENE 1.31. The Genetic distance was calculated by TREECONW and the systematic diagrams of genetic relationship were clustered by UPG-MA. The results showed that, using 26 primers, a total of 558 bands were produced, of which 539 were polymorphic loci. There was a high level of genetic diversity among species (PPB = 96.59%, Na = 1.9659, Na = 1.3375, H = 0.2143, I = 0.3423). However, genetic diversity was lower within species, the average of genetic parameters was PPB = 6.97%, Na = 1.0697, Na = 1.0311, H = 0.0187, I = 0.0291. The Nei's genetic differentiation coefficient was 0.9126, indicated that most of the genetic variation existed among species. By clustering analysis, different individuals gathered in the same group and the classified result of SRAP marker between traditional modal characters was almost same. The results confirmed that SRAP marker can be used as one of the effective methods to reveal the genetic diversity and relationship among medicinal species of Dipsacus.

To investigate the genetic diversity among wild Dipsacus asperoides in China, 66 germplasmic resources of D. asperoides were analyzed by Start Codon Targeted Polymorphism (SCoT) molecular markers. Genetic distance was calculated by TREECONW software and the systematic diagram of genetic relationship was clustered by UPGMA method. The results showed that the totals of 181 bands were detected using 20 primers , among which 109 were polymorphic bands. The average percentage of polymorphic bands was 60.13%. Genetic distance changed from 0.030 6 to 0.181 4. The clustering results showed that there was no significant correlation between the classification of the wild D. asperoides and their geographical origin. The relatively high genetic diversity of D. asperoides provides the basis for breeding new varieties.

Objective To compare CT and MR imaging in guiding and monitoring cryoablation of hepatic tumors. Methods A total of 131 lesions in 121 patients with malignant tumors of liver were treated with imaging-guided percutaneous cryotherapy. There were 73 males and 48 females, mean age 60 years. Of the 121 patients, 61 patients had cryoablation under CT guidance and 60 patients under the guidance of MRI. CT-guidance was performed with the Philips big-bore CT in spiral mode, with 5 mm slice thickness. The MR guidance was performed with GE 0.35 T scanner assisted with infrared navigator (Xinaomdt), and both fast gradient echo sequence and fast spin-echo sequence were used. The cryoablation system is a magnetic resonance compatible system (Galil, Israel), equipped with 17 G cryoprobes that are 1.47 mm in outside diameter. A combination of multiple eryo-probes and conformal cryoablation were adopted in accordance with the location, the shape and the adjacent structure of each lesion. Each cryoablation included two freezing-thawing cycles. Scanning was performed intermittently during the operation to monitor the degree of ablation. The mean scanning time, the lesion depiction and ablation process monitoring, the efficacies of lesion ablation, complications, and survival time were analyzed with x2 test Results The mean scanning time was (5.6±1.8)min for CT and (22.0±2.6)min for MR. CT provideda good depiction of the lesion and the ribs which were poorly displayed on MR images. The metal probe could create artifacts on the CT images and it was difficult for CT to show the formation of ice ball of the lesion formed after embolization with lipiodol. MR was superior to CT in displaying, guiding and monitoring of ablation of lesions near such special ragions as the diaphragm dome, the hepatic hilum, and the gallbladder. MR was not affected by high-density embolization material and the metal probes, and thus was superior to CT in depicting the lesion, and monitoring the formation of ice ball and the process of lesion ablation, etc. However, MR scan was time consuming, and image quality of low-field open MR was less desirable than that of CT. The 12-month overall survival rates were 90.2%(55/61) and 90.0%(54/60), respectively. The overall efficacies of lesion ablation were 75.4%(46/61) and 83.4%(50/60), respectively. Conclusion CT has advantages of fast scanning and good display of such structures as ribs in the path of puncture as compared with MR. MR can display a lesion with multi-planar imaging, and is superior to CT in monitoring the procedure of ablation, especially in displaying, guiding and monitoring ablation of lesions near such special regions as the diaphragm dome, the hepatic hilum, and the gallbladder.
