Objective To observe the expression of ?-smooth muscle actin(?-SMA)in rats with tubulointerstitial fibrosis and explore the possible mechanism of renal-protecting of ?-SMA.Methods Sixty male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats,aged 3 months,were randomly divided into 2 groups:control group(n=30)and model group(n=30).The renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis model was established by gavage with 150 mg/(kg?d)adenine solved by a solution of 20 g/L starch and the same volume starch was given to the rats from control group.At the 7th,12th,17th week,10 rats of every group were killed,the urinary protein,N-acetyl-?-D-glucosaminidase(NAG)in the urine and renal profile including BUN and serum Cr were examined.The histological changes of kidney were observed by light microscopy,and the expression of transforming growth factor-beta 1(TGF-?1)and ?-SMA were examined by immunohistochemistry staining.Results At the 7th,12th and 17th week,the value of urinary protein,urinary NAG,serum BUN and Cr of rats from model group were higher than those of controls(Pa
5.The Influence of Difference of Dietary Pattern between Elderly Tibetans and Han Peoples on Blood Lipids

Objective To analyze the dietary behavior and blood lipid profiles of the local elderly Tibetans and Han people living in Tibet and in Beijing,and to advise some steps to promote the health of local elderly Tibetans.Methods We collected the data of diet and blood lipids of the local Tibetan and Han people living in Tibet and in Beijing aged over 35 yrs by the method of migration epidemiology.Results The diet pattern of Tibetan was high intakes of coarse grains(219.8?123.3 g/day),meat(226.2?210.1 g/day),and wine(580.8?1 049.0 g/day),but low intakes of fresh vegetable & fruits(217.8?160.4 g/day).The prevalence of hypertriglyceridemia(5.0%) and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(3.1%) of Tibetan was lower than that of other two groups(elderly Han people in Tibet 22.5% and 10.7%;elderly Han people living in Beijing 14.7% and 8.4%,all P
6. Transdermal permeation in vitro of Xiaoyan Zhentong Cataplasm

Objective: To study the transdermal penetration absorption of Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, the monarch drug in Xiaoyan Zhentong Cataplasm and to optimize the transdermal penetration enhancers of Xiaoyan Zhentong Cataplasm. Methods: The Franz diffusion cell was used to study the in vitro permeation behavior, and salvianolic acid B and Tanshinone IIA were chosen as indexes. Samples with different penetration enhancers were assayed by HPLC method to determine the cumulative permeation quantity and permeation rate of salvianolic acid B and Tanshinone IIA. Results: When azone - propylene glycol (1:1), the permeation rates of salvianolic acid B and Tanshinone IIA through rat skin in vitro were 3.62 and 1.35 μg/(cm2·;h), respectively, and the 24 h permeated amounts were 88.72 and 16.12 μg/cm2, respectively. Compared with the Xiaoyan Zhentong Cataplasm without penetration enhancers, the permeation rates increased by 6 and 10 times, respectively. Conclusion: The combination of Azone - propylene glycol (1:1) is an effective penetration enhancer both to water-soluble salvianolic acid B and liposoluble Tanshinone IIA.
7.Expression and Epigenetic Regulation of BRCA1 in Chemosensitive and Chemoresistant Ovarian Cancer

Objective To investigate the expression of BRCA1 in chemosensitive and chemoresistant ovarian cancer specimens,so as to provide a novel insight into the epigenetic mechanism involved in BRCA1 transcription. Methods Serous ovarian cancer patients(10 chemosensitive and 10 chemoresistant cancer)were enrolled for the study. BRCA1 levels was analyzed by real?time quantitative PCR. The methylation levels of BRCA1 core promoter(sites 1?4)was determined by pyrosequencing. Regression analysis was used to examine the possible relationship between BRCA1 levels and the methylation levels of sites 1?4 in ovarian cancer specimens. Results Compared to chemosensitive ovarian cancer tissues,BRCA1 levels were increased,but the methylation levels of BRCA1 core promoter(sites 1?4)were decreased in chemoresistant ovarian cancer tissues. How?ever,it is interesting to note that only a significant inverse correlation was observed between BRCA1 levels and the methylated levels of site 4 (r=-0.612,P<0.05). Conclusion Our findings imply that the methylation levels of site 4 in the core promoter of BRCA1 may be widely involved in the regulation of BRCA1 expression and chemosensitivity in ovarian cancer.
9.Characteristics of healthy school-age children`s visual evoke potentials

AIM: To conclude the characteristics of flash visual evoke potentials (FVEP), and pattern visual evoke potentials (PVEP) of the healthy school-age children.And to compare the two methods, in order to find the association of them, and to find the impact of sex, age, and the other biological variables.METHODS: A total of 101 healthy children were recruited (age from 5 to 14.4y, mean 8.27y).Each of them was underwent FVEP and PVEP examinations.Then the results were statistically analyzed by SPSS 13.0.RESULTS: The curves of PVEP are simple and stable, while FVEP waveforms are variable.The latency of P100 of females is shorter than males.However there was no significant difference for FVEP in sex control.To compare the parameters between the two hemispheres, the amplitude of P100 of left eyes were higher than the right side.FVEP showed no difference in the two hemispheres either.There was no significant difference for age-dependent decreased in neither PVEP nor FVEP.And in a regression analysis of the FVEP and PVEP, we could not find the inner connection of the two methods.CONCLUSION: Based on our research, there were no significant differences in age level or sex control in the period of school-age children.And there is no inner connection of the two methods.The differences between the PVEP and FVEP results might be due to the origin of these two responses.And these two stimuli should be used in a complementary manner not as alternative examinations.
