Objective To analyse the incidence, clinical features, histopathology and clinicopathological correlation in different age group of 524 cases with IgA nephropathy(IgAN) retrospectively. Methods 524 cases of IgA nephropathy were divided into three groups according to their age, and the clinical and renal pathological features were analyzed. Results In children group(≤15 years), the incidence of recurrent gross hematuria was 47. 2% and renal impairment 4. 6%. Malignant hypertension as first presentation associated with serious renal impairment occured in 3. 8% patients of youth and adult group (16 - 49 years). Higher incidence of nephrotic syndrome and acute renal failure was found in elder group (50 - 69 years). Conclusions The incidence Of IgAN in children and elder population is increased, especially in the children. They need a further follow-up. For elder patients considered as IgAN, a renal biopsy seems to be necessary. While youths and adults still account for the most part of IgAN patients.

Objective Through observing the change of serum cTnT level and other biochemical markers such as T3 and TNF-αin acute ischemic stroke patients , to investigate the correlation between the indictors change and short-term prognosis and stroke severity .Methods This study observed 68 patients (male 35 cases ,mean age 68 ±11.4 years; female 33 cases, mean age 69 ±10.3 years). All cases were collected fasting blood sample to test cTnT ,T3 and TNF-α.Death and other unexpected events were recorded in the form of telephone follow-up within one month in survival patients during and discharge from hospital. Results According to cTnT detection level ,all cases were divided into two groups , normal group (54 cases,79.4%) and positive group(14 cases,20.6%).There was statistical significance between posi-tive cTnT and NIHSS score neurological deficits ( p <0.01).cTnT was negratively correlated with T3( r =-0.324 , P <0.05 ) ,but positively with TNF-α( r =0.67 , P =0.017 ) .All patients were followed up for one month.14.7%patients died including 11.7%during hospital and 3% after discharge. After age, NIHSS adjustment cTnT remains an independent risk factor for death ( RR=2.34 ,95%CI=1.22-5.02 , P<0.01 ) .Conclusion After acute ischemic stroke , cTnT is correlated with dropping T 3 level and in-creasing TNF-αlevel, suggesting that both stress and inflammatory response may be involved in heart dam-age.Abnormal elevation of cTnT influenced short-term prognosis of acute ischemic stroke , which can be used as short-term indicators of poor prognosis in the clinical observations .

Aim To investigate the effects of isoliquiri-tigenin ( ISL) on anti-angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo and its mechanisms. Methods We assessed the antiangiogenic activities of ISL on proliferation viabili-ty, migration and tube formation of human microvascu-lar endothelial cell line-1 (HMEC-1) in vitro. The cell proliferation viability was assessed using the Sulforho-damine B ( SRB ) assay. Modified Boyden Transwell chamber assay was done to study the effect of ISL on HMEC-1 cells migration. 2′, 7′-dichlorofluorescein di-acetate ( DCFH-DA) was used to measure the levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species ( ROS ) , which was induced by VEGF. Metalloproteinase-2 ( MMP-2 ) and metalloproteinase-9 ( MMP-9 ) expressions by HMEC-1 cells were assessed through gelatin zymogra-phy assay. HMEC-1 cells cycle was detected by flow cytometry. Moreover, we investigated the in vivo anti-angiogenic activity of ISL on chicken embryos nap al-lantoic membrane model ( CAM ) . Results ISL con-centration-dependently inhibited the growth of HMEC-1 cells as well as SW620 and A549 cells. ISL signifi-cantly and concentration-dependently suppressed the migration activity of HMEC-1 cells. Tube sample struc-ture formation further confirmed the effect of ISL on an-ti-angiogenesis. Moreover, ISL also inhibited intracel-lular ROS level, MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression by HMEC-1 cells. ISL induced endothelial cell apoptosis at a low concentration ( ISL 12 . 5 μmol · L-1 ) and blocked the cells in S phase of mitosis at higher con-centrations ( ISL 25~100 μmol·L-1 ) . Furthermore, ISL distinctly inhibited the angiogenesis of chick em-bryos in vivo. Conclusions ISL has anti-tumor and angiogenesis effects on HMEC-1 cells. The mechanism may be related to intracellular ROS scavenging and ap-optosis induction of HMEC-1 cells.

We wished to ascertain the prevalence as well as the genetic and antigenic variation of infectious bronchitis viruses (IBVs) circulating in the Guangxi Province of China in recent years. The S1 gene of 15 IBV field isolates during 2012-2013 underwent analyses in terms of the similarity of amino-acid sequences, creation of phylogenetic trees, recombination, and serologic identification. Similarities in amino-acid sequences among the 15 isolates of the S1 gene were 54.3%-99.6%, and 43.3%-99.3% among 15 isolates and reference strains. Compared with the vaccine strain H120, except for GX-YL130025, the other 14 isolates showed a lower similarity of amino-acid sequences of the S1 gene (65.1-81.4%). Phylogenetic analyses of the S1 gene suggested that 15 IBV isolates were classified into eight genotypes, with the predominant genotype being new-type II. Recombination analyses demonstrated that the S1 gene of the GX-NN130048 isolate originated from recombination events between vaccine strain 4/91 and a LX4-like isolate. Serotyping results suggested that seven serotypes prevailed during 2012-2013 in Guangxi Province, and that only one isolate was consistent with the vaccine strain H120 in serotype (which has been used widely in recent years). The serotype of recombinant isolate GX-NN130048 was different from those of its parent strains. These results suggested that not only the genotype, but also the serotype of IBV field isolates in Guangxi Province had distinct variations, and that increasing numbers of genotypes and serotypes are in circulation. We showed that recombination events can lead to the emergence of new serotypes. Our study provides new evidence for understanding of the molecular mechanisms of IBV variations, and the development of new vaccines against IBVs.
