Objective To evaluate the application of duct endoscopy in the diagnosis of breast diseases characterized by nipple discharge. Methods One hundred and sixty-nine consecutive cases from October 2003 to September 2004 who had duct endoscopy for nipple discharge were reviewed and followed up.Results Of 169 cases,79 ductitis,62 intraductal papilloma,9 intraductal carcinoma in situ,19 without breast diseases were diagnosed under duct endoscopy.During following up,the diagnostic accuracy of intraductal papilloma and intraductal carcinoma in situ with duct endoscopy was 89.8%(44/49) and 55.6%(5/9),respectively.There was only one patient who had breast pain and mild skin redness which was cured with oral antibiotics for 3 days. Conclusion Duct endoscopy is an only technique to explore the etiology for duct discharge under vision. It is direct, safe and effective, with a high accuracy.

Objective To investigate the inhibitory effects of tetramethoxystilbene, a selective CYP1B1 inhibitor, on adipogenic differentiation of C3H10T1/2 multi-potent mesenchymal cells. Methods In vitro cultured C3H10T1/2 cells at full confluence were induced by adipogenic agents (10μg/ml insulin, 2μmol/L dexamethasone and 0.5 mmol/L 3-isobutyl-1-methylxanthine) and exposed simultaneously to TMS at the final concentrations of 1.0, 2.0 or 4.0μg/ml. Oil Red-O staining was used to observe the cell differentiation. The expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and its target genes cluster of differentiation 36 (CD36) and fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4) were quantified by real-time RT-PCR and Western blotting. Results Oil Red-O staining and TG contents revealed that TMS suppressed induced differentiation of C3H10T1/2 cells. TMS exposure of the cells dose-dependently decreased both mRNA and protein expressions of PPARγ, a key nuclear transcription factor during adipogenesis, and also lowered the mRNA expressions of PPARγ target genes CD36 and FABP4. Conclusion TMS can suppress adipogenic differentiation of C3H10T1/2 cells by inhibiting PPARγ.

Objective:To investigate the predictive value of KAI1 expression in colon cancer tissues for tumor recurrence.Methods:Ninety-two pathological tissue samples were collected from patients undergoing radical operation for colon cancer in Tangshan People's Hospital from August 2010 to November 2011. According to the results of follow-up, the patients were divided into recurrent group (33 cases) and non-recurrent group (59 cases). KAI1 expression in tumor tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry. χ2 test was used to analyze the relationship between KAI1 expression in colon cancer tissues and clinicopathological characteristics of patients with colon cancer. Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the relationship between KAI1 expression in colon cancer tissues and the recurrence time of patients. Cox proportional hazards model was used to analyze the related factors affecting postoperative recurrence of colon cancer. Results:KAI1 expression in tumor tissues in the recurrent group was lower than that in the non-recurrent group [39.39% (13/33) vs. 62.71% (37/59), χ2 = 4.638, P = 0.031]. KAI1 expression was not associated with patients' gender, age and tumor maximum diameter (all P > 0.05), but related to the tumor differentiation and lymphatic metastasis [high and medium differentiation vs. low differentiation: 70.3% (26/37) vs. 43.6% (24/55), χ2 = 6.324, P =0.012; lymph node metastasis vs. non-lymph node metastasis: 43.2% (19/44) vs. 64.6% (31/48), χ2 = 4.238, P = 0.039]. KAI1 expression in tumor tissues was positively correlated with tumor recurrence time ( r = 0.845, P < 0.05). Cox multivariate analysis showed that the low differentiation of the tumor, lymph node metastasis and negative expression of KAI1 in colon cancer tissues were independent risk factors for recurrence of colon cancer after surgery ( HR = 1.736, 95% CI 1.598-5.391, P = 0.019; HR =1.526, 95% CI 1.175-3.029, P = 0.037; HR = 1.799,95% CI 1.756-5.825, P = 0.013). Conclusion:Low KAI1 expression in colon cancer tissues is closely related to colon cancer recurrence, and the detection of KAI1 expression in colon cancer tissues has certain predictive value for tumor recurrence.

Objective:
To analyze the influence of atmospheric particulate matters (PM2.5 and PM10) on low-birth-weight (LBW) infants at different periods of gestation.
Methods:
We conducted a systematic literature search for 2 471 articles related to particulate matter and LBW published from January 1st 2000 to January 1st 2016 using the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Science Direct, Chinese Web of Knowledge, Wanfang and Weipu, and the keywords were" air pollution" , "adverse birth outcomes" , "adverse pregnancy outcomes" , "low birth weight/LBW" . According to criteria, 27 literatures were selected and included. Metafor package of the R 3.1.1 Software was used to check the heterogeneity and merge the effect value of the selected literatures, and sensitivity analysis and publication bias were detected and adjusted.
Results:
A total of 2 471 studies selected form the databases, 27 enrolled in this analysis according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Each 10 μg/m3 increase in PM2.5 was associated with combined

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and risk factors of catheterrelated infection in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) patients. Methods The demographic and clinical data of CRRT patients who inserted with double-lumen non-cuffed dialysis catheter at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 1,2016 to December 31,2016 were collected.According to the presence or absence of catheter-related infections, they were divided into infected group and uninfected group.Statistics and analysis of the incidence and pathogenic characteristics of catheter-related infections;Comparison of clinical features of infected and uninfected groups;A multivariate Cox proportional hazard model was used to analyze risk factors for catheter-related infections. Results A total of 364 patients with CRRT (437 cases of central venous catheterization) were enrolled in the study.Catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI) and catheterrelated colonization (CRCOL) rates were 3.565 and 2.228 events per 1000 catheter-days.These catheters were associated with higher proportion of inserted in ICU (P=0.007),immunosuppression (P=0.002),receive catecholamine inotropes therapy (P=0.001) and shock (P=0.030).The infection catheters also had shorter indwelling time (P=0.032) and lower level of blood hemoglobin (P=0.017),serum creatinine (P=0.004),blood brain natriuretic peptide (P=0.005) pericatheter use.The most common pathogens were Gram-negative bacteria, especially Acinetobacter baumannii, which caused 37.5% CRBSI and 20.0% CRCOL.Multivariate Cox regression model showed female (P=0.029,HR=2.151),diabetes (P=0.016,HR=2.807),receive catecholamine inotropes therapy (P=0.012,HR=2.655),immunosuppression (P=0.037,HR=2.203) were independent risk factors associated with catheterrelated infection. Conclusions The incidence of CRBSI and CRCOL is 3.565 and 2.228 events per 1000 catheter-days CRRT patients in our hospital. The most common pathogen of catherter-related infection is Gram-negative bacteria.Female, diabetes, received catecholamine inotropic drugs, and immunosuppression were independent risk factors associated with catheter-related infection.
