Objective To evaluate the safe ty and efficacy of CT-guided percuta neous ethanol injection (CT-PEI) in the treatment of thyroid adenoma. M ethods Fifty-four patients with 73 nodules were included in the study. Thyroi d adenoma was confirmed by pathology. The serum level T3, T4, and TSH were norma l in all cases. CT-PEI (0.3-2.5 ml ethanol/cm~3 nodular tissue) was given for 115 times (mean 1.58?078 times/nodule). Results Complete cu re was observed in 37 nodules (50.7%). In 28 nodules (38.3%) volume reduction was greater than 80%. A significant nodule reduction (50%-80%) was observed in 7 nodules. Only 1 (1. 4%) nodule volume reduction was 28.9%. Apart from 1 case of transient dysphonia and 2 cases of mild pain and burning sensation, no side effect was observed. Conclusion CT-PEI is a safe and effective therapeutic procedure with f ew side effects for thyroid adenoma.

Alogliptin is a class of highly selective dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) inhibitors. It can reduce the glucose level mainly through inhibiting the decomposition of dipeptidyl peptidase of glucagon peptide-1 (GLP-1), therefor promote insulin secretion.A large number of clinical trials have been conducted before and after algliptin get approved by Food and Drug Administration form different countries , which proves that alogliptin can remarkably reduce blood glucose without causing any serious risks. This article is mean to introduce most of the important clinical trials that has been conducted, from Phase I to Phase IV.

AIM: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of heavy silicone oil (HSO), Densiron 68, was used as internal tamponade to treat complex vitreoretinopathy.METHODS: A retrospective study of 30 patients (30 eyes) who underwent vitrectomy and HSO tamponade for complex retinal detachment between January 2015 and January 2016.The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), retinal reattachment and complications after surgery were observed.RESULTS: There were statistical significances in both the BCVA difference between pre-operation and HSO tamponade, and the BCVA difference between pre-operation and the removal of HSO for 3mo (z=-2.198, P=0.028;z=-2.682, P=0.007).The average intraocular pressure of HSO tamponade group was 20.233±8.007mmHg, and the average intraocular pressure of pre-operation group was 16.067±4.025mmHg, showing significant difference(t=-2.913, P=0.005).Between the pre-operation group and the HSO removed group 14.933±3.423mmHg, there was no significant statistical difference in the analysis of IOP (t=2.635, P=0.430).Anatomical success was achieved in 90% of cases after the removal of HSO.Most common complications were cataract formation and oil emulsification.CONCLUSION: Densiron-68 is a safe and effective tamponade material for the treatment of complex vitreoretinopathy. However, most common complications are cataract formation and oil emulsification. So clinicians should strictly handle indications and usage during the clinical applications.

It is particularly important to confirm that whether subjects were repeated to participate in the clinical trial, the time interval from the last dose in the recent clinical trial, whether the physical conditions of subjects accord with the clinical trial protocol in phase I clinical trials and so on.This paper will introduce two types of the subject database, one was established by our hospital, another one is subject networking database, and will introduce the operation mode, the present situation of subjects screening under the database management. To explore the existing problems, optimize the use of subject database and give long-term prospects of subject networking database.

To obtain the genome sequence of human bocavirus 2 (HBoV2), different regions of HBoV2 genome were amplified through PCR in fecal specimens which had been identified as single-positive for HBoV2 in 2010. A genome sequence of HBoV2 (HBoV2-NC, 5444 bp) was obtained after sequence assembly. The phylogenetic analysis showed that HBoV2-NC had the closest evolutionary relationship with HBoV2 Lanzhou strain. The predication of inverted terminal repeats of HBoV2-NC by DINAMelt showed that inverted terminal repeats were contained in HBoV2-NC 5' terminal, which had the typical stem-loop structure in other parvoviruses. Finally, some flanking sequences of HBoV2-NC were amplified by linker-PCR.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a high performenc capillary zone electrophoresis method for the determination of the water-soluble active ingredients in different parts of the Salvia miltiorrhiza.METHODS:Capillary electrophoresis was conducted using uncoated capillary column(75 ?m?50.2 cm,effective length=40 cm)with 5 mmol?L-1 phosphate-borax(ph7.4)as running buffer by pressure injection(0.5 psi/4 s)and constant voltage separation(20 kV)with a detection length of 210 nm and a column temperature of 25 ℃.RESULTS:A complete baseline separation of PAH,DSS and PA was achieved within 8 min under the optimized conditions. The good linear range was from 2.5 ?g?mL-1 to 200.0 ?g?mL-1 for all the three ingredients. The average recoveries of the 3 ingredients were 100.04%,99.99%,and 100.01%,respectively,with RSD at 1.75%,1.73%,and 1.74%,respectively.CONCLUSION:The method is satisfactory in precision, recovery and linearity, and it can be used to determine three water-soluble active ingredients in different parts of the Salvia miltiorrhiza.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the determination of sodium valproiate in human serum and to study the bioequivalence of steady state concentration C ssm in of the domestic and imported sodium valproiate sustained-release compound tablets.METHODS:Two periods of multi-oral administration of domestic and imported sodium valproiate sustained-release compound tablets were conducted alternately at random on20healthy male volunteers;the trough concentration of sodium valproate in human serum was determined by HPLC-fluorescence detection and the data were analyzed by3p97pro?gram.RESULTS:The blood concentration was steady after3d oral administration of both the domestic and imported sodium valproate sustained-release compound tablets. The C ssm in of domestic and imported products were(38.17?9.36)、(35.48?9.44)mg/L respectively.C ss min of domestic and imported sodium valproate sustained-release compound tablets were of bioe?quivalence either single or multi-oral administration.CONCLUSION:This HPLC-fluorescence method is quick, sensitive and economical, which can be used to monitor the concentration of sodium valproate in human serum.

The role of arginine vasopressin ( AVP) played in proliferation and differentiation of mouse primary osteoblast and its mechanism was investigated. 100 nmol/ L AVP was added into the medium containing primary mouse osteoblast: (1) After being cultured for 72 h, the proliferation of the cells was counted with a cell counter. (2) The media of cultured cells on 2,4,6,8,10 days were harvested and tested for the secreted ALP concentration by osteoblasts, and the cells were lysed in order to test the ALP concentration in cytosol. (3) The alizarin red staining was employed to detect the effect of AVP on calcium nodules formation on 8 th and 20 th days. (4) The osteoblast cells were incubated with AVP for 20 min, and then were lysed. Radioimmune assay was applied to test the change of cAMP in cytosol. These results showed that, compared to negative group, 100 nmol/ L AVP significantly promoted the proliferation of primary mouse osteoblast ( P<0. 01). ALP secretion was increased remarkably ( P <0. 01), and the number and area of calcium nodules were increased considerably(P<0. 01). The intracellular cAMP was increased after incubating cells with AVP for 20min ( P<0. 01). These results suggest that AVP may promote proliferation and differentiation of mouse primary osteoblasts by cAMP signal pathway.
