Objective To analyze changes in lactic acid level in patients with late-onset intracranial hematoma after craniocerebral injury and investigate their relativity. Methods Forty-eight patients with late-onset intracranial hematoma after craniocerebral injury treated in our hospital between May 2009 and December 2012 were enrolled as observation group. There were 32 males and 16 females.Moreover,50 cases checked up in our hospital during the same period were studied as health population controls, including 35 males and 15 females.Level of lactic acid was measured on admission,at the time of definite diagnosis as well as at days 7 and 14 after treatment and compared between groups. Results Level of lactic acid was (1.77 ±0.21) mmol/L in control group and (1.82 ± 0.25) mmol/L in observation group respectively on admission (t =1.070,P > 0.05) ; Level of lactic acid was (3.32 ± 0.89) mmol/L in observation group at the time of definite diagnosis, which increased to (3.74 ± 1.16) mmol/L at days 7 after treatment and decreased to (1.89 ±0.75) mmol/L at days 14 after treatment. When diagnosed and treated for 7 days, level of lactic acid differed significantly between the two groups (P < 0.05).Level of lactic acid related to craniocerebral injury at each time point, but higher correlation coefficient was observed at the time of definite diagnosis and 7 days after treatment with 0.986 and 0.989 respectively. Conclusion Level of lactic acid relates to late-onset intracranial hematoma after craniocerebral injury, which can be used as reference for progression of the disease.

Objective To study the effects of methylprednisolone on the permeability of blood-spinal cord barrier (BSCB) and claudin-5 expression after spinal cord injury in rats. Methods The rat model of spinal cord injury was estab?lished using modified Allen method. SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group, spinal cord injury group and methylprednisolone pretreatment group. The permeability of BSCB and expression of claudin–5 were assessed at 12 h, 1, 3, 5, and 7 d after the onset of spinal cord injury (five animals per each time point). RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of claudin-5. Results The success rate of the model was 84.0%. EB content was sig?nificantly higher in spinal cord injury group than in sham-operated group at each time point (F value 27.732,P<0.05). EB content was lower in methylprednisolone pretreatment group than in spinal cord injury group (F value 48.149,P<0.05). The mRNA expression of claudin-5 was lower in spinal cord injury group than sham-operated group at each time point (F value 12.248,P<0.05). The mRNA expression of claudin–5 was higher in methylprednisolone pretreatment group than in spinal cord injury group at each time point (Fvalue 15.316,P<0.05). The protein expression of claudin-5 was lower in spinal cord injury group than in sham operated group at each time point (Fvalue 18.108,P<0.05). The pro?tein expression of Claudin-5 was higher in methylprednisolone pretreatment group than spinal cord injury group at each time point (F value 20.247,P<0.05). Conclusions Methylprednisolone improves permeability of BSCB after spinal cord injury probably through enhancing claudin-5 expression in rats.

Alternative polyadenylation ( APA) is a widespread phenomenon and an important layer of gene regulation . APA contributes to the complexity of the transcriptome by allowing a single gene to encode multiple mRNA isoforms that dif -fer either in their coding sequence or in their 3′untranslated regions (3′UTR).The length of the 3′UTR can affect the sta-bility, localization and efficiency of the messenger RNAs ( mRNAs) by altering binding sites of RNA binding proteins or mi-croRNAs(miRNAs).The polyadenylation process , mechanisms governing APA and biological consequences resulting from APA are only starting to be deciphered .Here, we review the research progress in APA .

Journal of International Oncology 2016;43(8):619-621
Breast cancer metastasis suppressor gene 1 (BRMS1) significantly reduces the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells.BRMS1 gene expression is decreased or deleted in the cells of various malignant tumors.BRMS1 gene can inhibit tumor cells invasion and metastasis by means of regulating gene transcription and protein translation by phosphoinositide signaling and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathways, repairing intercellular communication and interacting with the mSin3-histone deacetylase (HDAC) complex, estrogen receptor and other proteins.BRMS1 gene may be a new target for the gene treatment of tumor metastasis.

Journal of Jilin University(Medicine Edition) 2003;29(4):381-384
Objective: To assess the potential significance of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) labelling indexes (PCNA-LI) and AgNORs number in evaluation of proliferative activity of Wilms′ tumor. Methods: A silver staining for AgNORs and an immunohistochemical method PCNA staining were performed on the biopsy specimens taken from 34 children with Wilms′ tumor. Results: No significant differences were observed between PCNA-LI and the pathological types and clinical stages, whereas fraction of S-phase and PI and the number of AgNORs were significantly higher in patients with PCNA-LI≥25% than that in patients with PCNA-LI<25%. The number of AgNORs/cell correlated well with both pathological types and clinical stages. The combination of PCNA-LI and AgNORs can accurately reflect the proliferative activity of cancer cells in Wilms′ tumor. Conclusion: The current pathological types and clinical stages may reflect the aggressive activity in Wilms′ tumor, but insufficient. The simultaneous determination of PCNA-LI and AgNORs count could be used as the essential complementarity of conventional pathological types and stages for accurate evaluation of biologic behaviour of Wilms′ tumor.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2011;27(1):72-75
Objectives To identify the mainstream studies and their development trends in health management research, and enable domestic scholars and institutions in their decision making to select strategic research fields and their discipline development on health management. Methods Co-citation cluster analysis of high-frequency citations, combined with co-word cluster analysis of high-frequency of MeSH terms were used to discover research focuses. This was followed by statistical analysis of the content of each cluster, and demonstration of the research trends through citation and subject strategic diagrams. Results Eight hot sub-fields have been identified both before and after 2002, which include both cross and separate topics. Conclusion With a multi-disciplinary characteristic, health management has not yet developed into a mature and stable research field; Health management involves the whole management process of healthcare services; Mental health management, chronic disease management and its primary health care service are all constant hotspots of studies. Health literacy is an area deserving greater attention in health management; Health management should interact with health insurance, making it part of the medical insurance system.

Clinical Medicine of China 2008;24(7):657-658
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Survivin in esophageal car-cinoma.Methods Survivin expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 61 cases of esophageal squamous carcinoma tissues and 26 tumor-adjacent normal tissues. Results The positive Survivin expression rate was 60.7% (37/61)in tumor tissues. The expression of Survivin was significantly correlated with the tumor grading, infiltration, lymph node metastasis and the survival(P<0.01).Conclusion Survivin may be an important marker for tumor di-agnosis and it is of great important to the active treatment of high-risk patients and to increasing of prognosis values.
