Objective To study the diagnostic value of CT combined CA125 and HE4 in differentiating the ovarian cancer from the benign. Methods A case-control study included 52 ovarian cancer patients,47 patients with benign ovarian tumors, and 40 healthy control subjects.Preoperative serum levels of HE4 and CA125 were measured and CT was performed. Results The serum levels of CA125 and HE4 in the ovarian cancer groups [(264.37 ± 138.46) KU/L,(280.38 ± 135.14)pmol/L] were significantly high-er than that in the benign ovarian neoplasm group [(52.51 ±5.29) KU/L,(40.52 ± 10.34) pmol/L] and healthy control group [(10.69 ±6.15)KU/L,(37.24 ±9.84) pmol/L] (P <0.01).The serum levels of CA125 showed statistically significant difference between the benign ovarian neoplasm groups and healthy control groups (P < 0.05).The serum levels of HE4 did not show statistically significant difference between the benign ovarian neoplasm groups and healthy control groups (P > 0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity (65.4%,80.8%,75.0%),specificity (74.5%,85.1%,76.6%),and accuracy (69.7%,82.8%,75.8%) of each CA125,HE4,CT method for ovarian cancer did not show statistically significant difference (P >0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity (92.3%),specificity (93.6%) and accuracy (94.8%) of combination of CA125 and HE4 and CT were significantly higher and showed statistically significant difference compared with one method (x2 =7.461 18.711,P < 0.01),but no significant difference compared with any two methods (P > 0.05).Conclusions The serum levels of HE4 and CA125 in the ovarian cancer group were significantly higher, and CT in combination with those two serum indices improved the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of ovarian cancer.
2.A preliminary discussion of care theory
Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2010;16(8):962-965
Caring is a core value of nursing science, therefore studying and improving the Care Theory is essential for nursing science to became an independent subject. In 1980s, Carol. Cilligan one of the western feminists, first discussed the importance of the care in moral value for women. Then based on the theory of existentialism, Nel Noddings, an American educationalist made depth research on the structure of care and developed the Ethics of Care. Nowadays, majority of studies on the Care Theory were in Western, especially in American and it still in the early stage. However, in China, there is a complete system of ethics. Therefore how to integrate the Chinese traditional ethics with the Ethics of Care from West is very important to develop Nursing Science.

The comparative analysis of the biological characterization and the genetic background study of EV71 circulating strains is commonly recognized as basic work necessary for development of an effective EV71 vaccine. In this study, we sequenced five EV71 circulating strains, isolated from Fuyang, Hefei, Kunming and Shenzhen city of China and named them FY-23, FY-22, H44, K9 and S1 respectively. The sequence alignment demonstrated their genotypes be C4. The genetic distance of the VP1 gene from these isolates suggested that they were highly co-related with genetic identity similar to other previously reported EV71 strains in China. Additionally, these strains were identified to display some obvious proliferation dynamics and plaque morphology when propagated in Vero cells. However, a distinctive difference in pathogenic ability in neonatal mice was found. Some differences in cross neutralization test & immunogenic analysis were also found. All these results are related to the biological characterization of circulating EV71 strains in China and aid in the development of an EV71 vaccine in the future.

To investigate the role of activated nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB) in experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), the activity and protein expression of NF-kappaB p65 in rat brain tissues, which were extracted from EAE rats at 1, 7, 14 and 21 d respectively after EAE was induced by CFA-GPSCH, were measured with electrophoretic mobility shift assay and immunohistochemistry. The relationship between activated NF-kappaB and symptoms of EAE was also investigated. The results showed that protein expression level and the activity of NF-kappaB were very low in the brain of the control group. After EAE was induced, the activity of NF-kappaB and the level of the protein expression in the brains increased gradually with the development of symptoms and brain pathology of EAE. On d 14, both the activity and the level of protein expression in the brains reached a peak, the positive cells of NF-kappaB were mainly located at the choroid plexuses and subfornical organ, as well as around the regions of sleeve-like lesion foci, which were coincident with the locations of lesions of EAE. The incidence, symptoms, reduction of the body weight and pathology of EAE rats brains at the above locations were most significant. On d 21 the activity of NF-kappaB and level of the protein expression reduced gradually, which was in parallel with a gradual alleviation of the symptoms of EAE rats. After a specific inhibitor of NF-kappaB, PDTC was applied, the symptoms and pathological lesions of EAE rat brain were mitigated markedly. The above results indicate that the dynamic changes in the activity and protein expression of NF-kappaB were in parallel with the changes in symptoms and pathological lesion of EAE rat brains. In conclusion, the activated NF-kappaB in the brain may play a critical role in the pathogenesis of EAE, and application of some inhibitors of NF-kappaB, such as PDTC, may be one of the effective therapeutic methods for prevention and treatment of EAE.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2015;32(2):240-244
OBJECTIVETo identify potential disease-causing mutation in the COL2A1 gene in a Chinese family affected with autosomal dominant spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SEDC; OMIM 183900) and to analyze the phenotype-genotype correlation.
METHODSComplete physical, and radiographic examinations of 4 affected individuals from the family were conducted. Genomic DNA was isolated from peripheral blood leukocytes. Whole-exome sequencing was performed using a HiSeq2000 sequencer. All 54 exons and exon-intron boundaries of the COL2A1 gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and bidirectionally sequenced.
RESULTSAll of the 4 individuals were found to carry a novel missense mutation of c.2224G>A (p.Gly687Ser) in the COL2A1 gene, while the same mutation was not found in the normal members of the family and 50 healthy controls. Protein prediction of missense mutation by Polyphen-2 and SIFT software indicated severe damage to the function.
CONCLUSIONThe mutation c.2224G>A (p.Gly687Ser) of the COL2A1 gene is responsible for this family. There are heterozygous of phenotype for the mutation.
