Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of postmenopausal women with thickening endometrial. Methods Totally 187 patients with postmenopausal endometrial thickening by transvaginal B-ultrasound were divided into symptomatic group (n=104)and asymptomatic group (n=83).Their body mass index,age of menarche and menopause,history of menstruation and reproductive,application of estrogen,and hypertension and diabetes were collected.All the patients underwent hysteroscopy and biopsy procedures. Results There was no difference between two groups in body mass index [ (24.3 ± 3.2) kg/m2 vs.(23.3 ± 2.6) kg/m2,t =3.79,P =0.052]. The postmenopausal time of symptomatic patients in the group was shorter than the asymptomatic [ ( 14.6 ± 2.4) years vs.( 16.5 ± 2.9 ) years,t =4.12,P =0.039].The patients in the asymptomatic group were older than the patients in the symptomatic group [(68.1 ±4.8) years vs.(66.1± 5.5) years,F=3.89,P =0.046].The average endometrial thickness of patients in the asymptomatic group showed no difference compared with patients in the symptomatic group [(7.2 ±1.4) mm vs. (7.8 ± 2.0) mm,F=3.21,P=0.065]. There were 5 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma,1 case of endometrial atypical hyperplasia,38 cases of endometrial polyp,25 cases of submucosal hysteromyoma,14 cases of proliferative phase endometrium in the asymptomatic group;while 8 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma,1 case of endometrial stromal sarcoma,4 cases of endometrial serous papillary carcinoma,5 cases of endometrial atypical hyperplasia,47 cases of endometrial polyps,21 cases of submucosal hysteromyoma,2 cases of uterine empyema,8 cases of chronic inflammation of the endometrium, 8 cases of proliferative phase endometrium in the symptomatic group,respectively. Conclusions Most of endometrial thickness in postmenopausal women are benign lesions, mainly including endometrial polyps and submucous myoma, but endometrial cancer accounts for a certain percentage. Hysteroscopy is minimally invasive,safe and with specificity for the diagnosis and treatment of endometrial lesions.

Objectve To find out an effective method for treatment of postoperative wounds of the patients with anal and rectal diseases.Methods Cryoprecipitate was smeared over postoperative wounds of the patients with anal and bowel diseases(the experimental group),and the mean healing time,infection rates and hemostatic effect were observed and compared to the patients who were treated by routine medicine(the control group).Results The mean healing time of patients with hemorrhoid,anal fistula and perianal abscess was shorter than the control group by 5.68 days,6.01 days and 1.87 days respectively.And the infection rates of the experimental and control group were 9.18%(9/98)and 44.68%(42/94)respectively,significant difference between them was found( P

Objective To obtain the gene coding for the group 5 allergens from Dermatophagoides farinae ( Derf5 ) and predict its molecular characteristics. Methods The total RNA of D. farinae were extracted, and the gene Derf5 was amplified by RT-PCR with the primers designed according to previous sequence published in GenBank. The target gene was linked into pMD19-T Simple plasmid, sequenced and analyzed by bioinformatics software. Results The sequence homology reached to 97.8% between our sequenced result with one complete open reading fragment (ORF) and the reference. The gene encode an extracellular hydrophobic protein with 132 amino acid resides, one signal peptide from 1 to 19 position and one transmembrane domain from 1 to 19 position. The secondary structure was composed of extended strand (1. 52% ), random coil (7.58%) and alpha helix (90.91%). The encoded protein was deduced to have two Casein kinase Ⅱ phosphorylation sites. The similarity of the amino acid sequence of the group 5 allergens were 78% between D. farinae and D. pteronyssinus. Conclusion The gene Derf5 was cloned successfully, and its characteristics was primarily predicted.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of concomitant docetaxal (DTX) and nedaplatin (NDP) therapy for recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer in elderly women.Methods Totally 42 elderly patients with histologically confirmed recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer received chemotherapy with DTX combined with NDP.DTX with the dose of 60-70 mg/m2 was administered intravenously on day 1,followed by NDP with the dose of 70-80 mg/m2 given intravenously on day 2.The treatment was repeated every 3 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated according to response evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST) and serum CA125 level.Adverse reactions were assessed according to performance and standard criteria in toxicity of anticancer agents of WTO.Results 4 patients were switched to other chemotherapy strategies due to progression of disease after 2 courses of treament,and the other patients completed 4 to 6 courses.Among 42 patients,18 cases (42.9％)showed complete remission,10 cases (23.8％) showed partial remission,6 cases (14.3％) were in stable conditions,and 8 cases (19.0％) progressed to severe disease.The median progression-free survival (PFS) time was 7 months,and the efficacy rate (complete and partial remission) was 66.7％(28/42).The main adverse effects were alopecia,nausea and vomit,and leucopenia.Patients could get remission by receiving drug therapy.Conclusions Docetaxel plus nedaplatin therapy has a good therapeutic effect with low incidence of adverse reactions,high safety and well tolerance in elderly platinum-sensitive women and in those with platinum-resistant recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer.

Objective To establish an effective qualitative discrimination method for Selaginella medicinal materials.Meth- ods Thin layer chromatography(TLC)method was used.Results The TLC method has a good specialization for identifying Selaginella medicinal materials and can distinguish Selaginella rnoellendorfii from other 10 familiar species in northern areas of Guangdong province.Conclusion The method can help to control the quality of Selaginella moellendorfii Tablet.

Alternative polyadenylation ( APA) is a widespread phenomenon and an important layer of gene regulation . APA contributes to the complexity of the transcriptome by allowing a single gene to encode multiple mRNA isoforms that dif -fer either in their coding sequence or in their 3′untranslated regions (3′UTR).The length of the 3′UTR can affect the sta-bility, localization and efficiency of the messenger RNAs ( mRNAs) by altering binding sites of RNA binding proteins or mi-croRNAs(miRNAs).The polyadenylation process , mechanisms governing APA and biological consequences resulting from APA are only starting to be deciphered .Here, we review the research progress in APA .

Objective To investigate the changes and significances of vaginal microecology in elderly postmenopausal women.Methods 50 postmenopausal women and 68 reproductive age women with no subjective symptoms and normal vaginal microecological who had health examination in Beijing Hospital were selected.The contents and strains of vaginal lactobacilli in both groups were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR),and their differences between the two groups were analyzed.Results 92％ (46 cases) of postmenopausal women had only one vaginal lactobacillus strain in vaginal,and 8％(4 cases) of them had two lactobacillus strains in vaginal.But 4％(3 cases) of reproductive-age women had only one vaginal lactobacillus strain in vaginal,and 96％ (65 cases) of them had two and more lactobacillus strains in vaginal.There was a significant difference in the strains of vaginal lactobacilli between the two groups (x2=91.035,P=0.000).The strains of vaginal lacmbacilli ranking top 4 detection rate was Lactobaeillus jensenii (30.0％),Lactobacillus gasseri (22.6％),Lactobacillus crispatus (16.9％) and Lactobacillus inert (13.2％) in postmenopausal women,while Lactobacillus inert (80.8 ％),Lactobacillus crispatus (70.5 ％),Lactobacillus gasseri (67.6％) and Lactobacillus jensenii (39.7％) in reproductive-age women.The content of 16s rDNA from vaginal lactobacillus was more in reproductive age women than in postmenopausal women [(87.3 ±0.8) ng/g total DNA vs.(35.1±3.6) ng / g total DNA,t=6.514,P=0.048].Conclusions Lactobacillus strains colonizing in vaginal are different between postmenopausal women and reproductive age women,and the content of the vaginal lactobacillus is reduced significantly in postmenopausal women.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the way to establish standard medication history in China. METHODS: To establish Chinese standard medication history by referring to other medication history pattern abroad, considering three factors - patients, physicians and pharmacists centered on the pharmaceutical care, and taking a case of diabetes mellitus patient as example to explain it clearly. RESULTS: The medication history was established by combining tables and descriptions, which consisted of four parts: First page, Record chart, Procedure and Summary. CONCLUSION: This medication history is concise, comprehensive, and legible, and it highlights the characteristics of pharmacists' job and meets the needs of clinical pharmacy practice.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Du meridian electroacupuncture of the scalp on deglutition disorder after stroke.Methods67 patients with deglutition disorder after stroke were randomly divided into the experimental group (n=34) and control group (n=33). The patients of the experimental group were received Du meridian electroacupuncture of the scalp as main therapy, combined with routine medicine treatments; the patients of the control group were only received routine medicine treatments. Before and after treatments, deglutition function of all patients was assessed by drinking water test and clinical effect was also assessed.ResultsAfter treatment, the deglutition function of the patients in the experiment group was markedly improved and superior to those in the control group ( P<0.01).ConclusionDu meridian electroacupuncture can markedly improve the clinical effect of routine medicine treatments on deglutition disorder after stroke.

Objective To investigate the clinical features,prognosis and its influencing factors of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST).Methods The clinical data of 163 patients with CVST were analyzed retrospectively.The outcome was assessed with the modified Rankin Scale (mRS).The influencing factors on prognosis were analyzed by logistic regression model.Results Among the 163 CVST cases,headache was found in 140 cases,motor and (or) sensory deficits in 16 cases,coma in 6 cases,serious intracranial hypertension (＞ 350 mm H2O,1 mm H2O＝0.0098 kPa) in 68 cases,lateral sinus thrombosis in 129 cases,straight sinus thrombosis in 11 cases and intracranial hemorrhage in 21 cases.Follow-up data was obtained by telephone in 150 cases (92％).The mRS scores were 0-1 in 89 cases,2 in 13 cases,3-5 in 44 cases,and 6 in 4 cases respectively.Poor outcome (mRS score ＞ 2) was found in 29.4％(48/163) patients.The total mortality rate was 2.7％ (4/150).Univariate analysis identified factors associated with poor outcome were motor and (or) sensory deficits,straight sinus thrombosis,serious intracranial hypertension (＞ 350 mm H2O) and intracranial hemorrhage.In logistic regression analysis,serious intracranial hypertension(＞ 350 mm H2O; OR =0.169,95％ CI 0.053-0.541,P =0.003) and intracranial hemorrhage (OR =0.075,95％ CI 0.018-0.311,P =0.000) were identified as independent predictors of poor prognosis.Conclusions The clinical manifestations of CVST are complicated and nonspecific.It is still a disease that may lead to death or disability.Serious intracranial hypertension(＞ 350mm H2O) and intracranial hemorrhage were independent predictors of poor prognosis.
